I always stay at this hotel whenever I have a layover in Lanzhou. The free transit accommodation is never available, so I have to book a room. No matter how late I arrive, they're always there to pick me up, and the airport drop-off service is great too. It's very clean and the rooms are spacious.

The location is inside Tianshui Ancient City, a bit hard to find.
Breakfast is a collaboration with the shop next door, only available from 8 AM, which is different from the information provided here.
The room's screen mirroring works fine, but there are constant ads… The room doesn't have a key; it has a combination lock, so you don't have to worry about only having one card for two people. The front desk provides many free small items that you can use.
The downsides are that if you stay on the first floor, you'll hear noise from outside, and if no one is at the front desk during check-in, you'll have to wait.

I have three criteria when booking a hotel: a separate wet/dry shower area, a laundry room, and breakfast. Ibis perfectly met all my requirements, offering a washer, dryer, and detergent. Plus, the washing machines have only two settings, which saves everyone time. In Europe, Ibis is my go-to for budget accommodation, and the Jiayuguan Ibis offers excellent value for money. It's no exaggeration to say it's just a two-minute walk from Jiayuguan Station with your luggage, and multiple bus routes start right outside the hotel. The front desk staff are all very kind and friendly. The room was new, very clean, and had a huge TV. Everything about it was excellent. On top of that, the hotel hosts meetings for large state-owned companies, and you know what that means – it's a good hotel!

Overall, it's decent, nothing to complain about.
Facilities: It has everything you'd expect.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness is acceptable.
Environment: Located near the Great Buddha Temple, not far from Ming and Qing Street. The hotel's interior decoration is acceptable, but the view from the opposite window is a bit lacking. The room layout is okay, but the bathroom is a little dark. Breakfast is at the Qingguo Hotel behind the hotel; by the way, the lobby of Qingguo is nicely decorated. Breakfast is sufficient, but not very plentiful. However, breakfast starts at 7:30 am, which isn't very friendly for people who need to rush early in the morning.
Service: Just so-so, almost non-existent. The package included afternoon tea, but I didn't get to try it, and the front desk didn't mention it.

Traveling to Jiayuguan by car, this hotel is located in the city center with plenty of parking. It's about 2 kilometers from Fuqiang Market to the north. The room is spacious and very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with a separate wet and dry area. The only minor drawback is that my first-floor room was a bit far from the water tank, so I had to let the hot water run for a little while. Overall, I recommend it, especially given the great off-season price.

For my trip to Dunhuang, I specifically chose the Shazhou Glamping Camp, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations. I have to praise their service – it's incredibly reliable. Before I even arrived, they sent messages proactively reminding me about the desert's day-night temperature differences, suggesting what to wear, and even provided travel tips based on my itinerary.
During check-in and luggage transport, they were always ready to lend a hand. Once settled, they were on call for anything I needed. Whether I wanted hot water in the evening, had questions about camp activities, or needed a car at short notice, their response was always super quick. They were diligent and patient in their work, never just going through the motions.
The camp environment is exceptional. You step right out into the vast desert, and the stargazing at night is spectacular. The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable. Overall, my stay was incredibly worry-free and relaxing. For anyone visiting Dunhuang and wanting a desert accommodation experience, I genuinely recommend this place; both the service and the environment are top-notch!

The heating is super sufficient, there is a humidifier, very intimate ~ walk to the Momorosh Temple for about 10 minutes, although the hotel does not have an elevator, but the staff is very enthusiastic to help us move up and down, the service attitude is also very good! Good location, convenient to take a taxi to the station, it is recommended ~

The hotel lobby is clean, spacious and bright. There is free tea at the front desk. The service is excellent, not only warm but also efficient. The room is clean and tidy. The security uncle also helped with the luggage when checking out, which was very considerate. Most importantly, the price is very affordable, and the parking lot is free. It is the first choice for staying here and I am very satisfied!
Extremely satisfied with my stay! The hotel's overall decor is simple yet stylish, and the environment is quiet, making you feel relaxed the moment you step in. Room cleanliness was impeccable, with every detail spotless, and the bedding was white and soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. The facilities are well-maintained; the air conditioning, lighting, and internet all worked perfectly, and the toiletries were complete. The staff's service attitude was exceptional, from check-in to departure they were thoughtful and efficient. The location is convenient for getting around, with comprehensive amenities nearby, making it suitable for both leisure and business. The value for money is outstanding compared to similar-class hotels. I had a comfortable and reassuring stay, have already recommended it to friends, and will definitely come back again!

Very Good
SSimona F.I loved the Courtyard B&B. The rural but very chic style. My room was generous, furnishing in the same traditional style. Clean throughout
The reception area very attractive and provides nice secluded spaces for relaxing- working in my case) under Bamboo trees and mandala decorated glasses of the ceiling. Very peaceful.
I very much appreciated the presence of a kittens with mum and a little doggie which I perceived like mascotte of the place. They were very well maintained and cared of. The stuff is very nice and helpful and we were able to understand each others in some way. I highly recommend this accomodation both for holiday and work.

GGuest UserThe B&B has a unique, clean, and refreshing design, clearly done by a designer. As southerners, we really appreciate that vibe, and I gave it full marks because it was spotlessly clean. The facilities are also brand new, which makes sense as it's a new establishment. It’s very close to Crescent Lake, and the owner's service was exceptional – really deserves a shout-out! They even have little lambs in the backyard, which our kids absolutely loved. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends next time.

Outstanding
GGuest UserDon't let the facade of this hotel fool you. While the frontage is a 4-floor building, majority of the hotel rooms are located at a much taller building behind the frontage.
The reception has a free coffee machine for guest, which is a rarity for Chinese hotels (especially if not 5-stars). I wish the reception was more brightly lit.
There is a Halal restaurant next to the hotel, so if you must eat Halal food, this hotel is perfectly located.
The room has adequate space for 2 person to put 2 big luggage, with plenty space to hang the winter clothing. The insulation is good, heater is warm, water pressure is strong with sufficient hot water when you need it. There's one odd thing about the heating in this hotel. The floor is heated, which is good prima facie, but the guest cannot control the temperature. So if the window is closed when you sleep at night, the heated floor ended up radiating heat all over the room to the point it feels like a 30C charcoal sauna when you wake up in the morning.
One special mention must be made about the breakfast. The dining area looks relatively spartan but the dishes would surprise you. It serves Salmon, Fish Eggs and one Cantonese delicacy ”Buddha Jumping Over the Wall”, which was a total surprise as we didn't expect a Cantonese dish to be served here so far in the northwest of China. I appropriated 2 bowls of Buddha Dish for one morning, enough said. I would absolutely come here for breakfast again. If the hotel could fix the control for the floor heating, that would be great !
AAnonymous UserChecked in on New Year's Eve. Two wind towels were given as a gift when I checked in. I took a photo of it specially because it was my favorite color, hehe.
Cleanliness: The room was surprisingly clean. No weird smell.
Facilities: Free toiletries are provided. The bathroom is spacious. The eco-friendly slippers are comfortable, but you can’t take them away.
Environment: Entering the hall, it is cozy, warm and the heating is very good.
Service: The beauties in the lobby are enthusiastic and warm.
To emphasize, heating is very good in winter. The bedding was clean and tidy. We stayed for two days and went out to the scenic spot on the second day. They cleaned and tidied the room without any request.
It is convenient to eat. There is an authentic beef noodle restaurant opposite the hotel, a convenience store next door, and a large supermarket around the corner, which is open on New Year's Eve. A perfect trip to Dunhuang! Dunhuang of the world, where my heart longs for!
MM275774****The hotel was a pleasant surprise, the best experience of my entire Qinghai-Gansu loop trip.
The hotel room was clean and tidy, the mattress was just the right firmness, very comfortable, and there were plenty of office-friendly amenities, including desks, chairs, and lamps.
The hotel service was exceptional; arguably the best I've experienced in a budget hotel. The front desk staff proactively recommended sightseeing options and restaurants, all of which were delicious (the food we ate at the tourist attractions the previous days was both expensive and terrible).
The hotel is located in the old food district of Fuqiang Market. Perhaps because it's an older area, the streets outside were quite run-down, which initially dampened my spirits. However, the hotel experience truly offered a contrast, and the nearby restaurants were frequented by locals. I highly recommend staying here. (I didn't take any room photos, so I'm using other pictures instead.)
PPeterThis is a REALLY nice hotel. Unfortunately, although it is practically right next to one of the city's two train stations, the location is far from ideal. Yes, there are many restaurants close by. But Tianshui is an oddly laid out city. Look on a map and you will see two distinct parts to the city. This hotel, along with the two train stations and the airport are in the eastern city. But all the most interesting city attractions are within the west part. And the two parts are very far from each other.
Again, this is a nice, quiet, comfortable hotel. And I often try to stay at hotels near transportation centers such as train stations. The view from my room was fabulous- mountains and a train station.
But for anyone visiting Tianshui, I'd suggest you look closely at a map and take a close look at the sites within the city you are likely to visit! (To add to within-town transportation challenges, not even a single time was I able to get a ride using the normally useful ”Didi” application. This meant that it was a constant ”old school” process of trying to flag down available taxis.
Anyway, again I will emphasize, the hotel is great. It is the layout of the city itself that presents challenges that make this location difficult.
GGuest UserThe facilities are relatively new and the environment is nice, but I don't understand why B&Bs nowadays always have all these fancy features. The door sensor light cannot be turned off and is still very bright. If two people sleep together and go to the toilet in the middle of the night, they will definitely wake up the other person. The only thing in the toilet is the LED light on the toilet, which is very bright, and the toilet door is translucent, so the toilet will always be on unless you unplug the power cord...
GGuest UserMy boyfriend took me to Tianshui this time, and we chose this hotel, which is located in the old city. The hotel is decorated in a new Chinese style, the environment and hygiene are excellent, and the service is very enthusiastic. The beautiful ladies in the front hall will upgrade the room type. The whole house is smart, the bedding is comfortable, and the pillows are suitable for sleeping. I recommend it to my friends. I booked a breakfast without breakfast, and bought one separately. It was not expensive, and it was clean. The rice noodles were very good. I will choose to stay here next time! ! ! The main parking is free and convenient, not far from the Fuxi Temple and the scenic spots in Tianshui City!
SShiyidedigeThe parking lot is extremely difficult to use! For a novice driver on the Qinghai-Gansu Ring Road self-driving tour, parking is still a bit of a challenge, but it was easy to park at the scenic spots and hotel parking lots along the way. Dunhuang is a place where every inch of land is valuable. It is so difficult to park a car! I deliberately picked a hotel with its own parking facilities, but it was so different from what I expected! You have to make a hard turn in the alley to get into the underground garage, and the above-ground part is also extremely narrow with curbs in front and behind! Wonder who designed the garage entrance!
The next day, I changed hotels in Dunhuang (Wanhong), which also said it had a parking lot. He told me it was thirty meters away and asked me to open the door for me. However, I didn't see him and went up the wrong slope. I finally managed to escape. I called the hotel, but I didn't remember the names of either hotel, so I called Yunbo Hotel. After a long conversation, the other party realized that they might have dialed the wrong hotel number. At this point, I was so furious! Why is parking so difficult in hotels in Dunhuang? It took a lot of effort to finally enter the underground parking lot of the hotel the next day, but I had great doubts about entering and exiting in the future. It felt too difficult!
YYijiajiajianqiangyongganFriends, I accidentally stumbled upon a budget version of Songtsam Hotel!
Showing your guesthouse reservation allows you to drive directly up to the property, saving you one shuttle bus ticket. The next day, if you plan to hike the 'Thirty-Three Heavens,' you can drive straight to the parking lot below, which is super convenient and saves a lot of energy 🅿️.
In the evening, you can sign up for the hostess's stargazing tour. The sky was full of clearly visible stars – absolutely stunning! And everyone got some amazing photos!!
Getting up at 8 AM the next day for a leisurely hike up the 'Thirty-Three Heavens' was perfect; we completely avoided the crowds, encountering only cleaning staff and meditating masters. Plus, by getting up early, we even saw blue pheasants and marmots fighting, haha! After the hike, we returned to the guesthouse just in time to check out and have a meal, then said goodbye to the snow-capped mountains feeling content yet reluctant to leave!
I was also really impressed with the facilities in the mountains. The shower water was surprisingly hot! And the toilet didn't clog! Food was always available and tasted great! They even had butter tea! And the snow-capped mountains were visible right from our window for free! Songtsam probably isn't much better than this!
