AAnonymous UserBefore coming, I saw some negative reviews about FM (presumably 'facilities/maintenance') and was quite worried. However, I decided to give it a try for a unique experience with my child. Upon arrival, all my worries disappeared. The hotel is located within Mingsha Mountain, so non-guests cannot enter, which provides good privacy. The air conditioning was already on when we arrived, and the staff were very warm and accommodating, always ready to help with anything we needed. You can even order takeout to the hotel. If you're comparing it to a 4- or 5-star hotel, the facilities might fall a bit short, as it's more like a glamping site. But if you're looking for a different kind of experience, especially with kids, I highly recommend this place. My child absolutely loved running around freely in the desert; we didn't have to worry about a thing and just let them play. In the evening, there's a bonfire party where they even teach you a bit about the stars. All in all, my child had a fantastic time. The only downside is that it gets incredibly hot during the day, so I'd recommend waiting until after sunset to really enjoy the outdoor activities.

GGuest UserThe hotel facilities are exceptionally complete. The entire room was clean and tidy, with a full range of toiletries and stable water pressure in the shower. The air conditioning worked very well, and all the furniture and appliances were provided. It was a comfortable and hassle-free stay, an absolutely fantastic experience.

GGuest UserOut of our 9-day trip along the Qinghai-Gansu Loop, this homestay was our family's absolute favorite. It's a place with real heart and soul, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. Even our five-year-old said he'd give this hotel 30 stars!
The homestay has a great design aesthetic, and the rooms are spotless, perfectly matching the tastes and ideas of younger travelers. We always bring our own disposable toiletries when we travel, but here, everything was already provided in the room.
I also really loved the landlady – she's just one of those people you instantly like, and it was so comfortable interacting with her. From the moment we checked into the homestay in Dunhuang, we had such a positive impression of the city. Even though our stay was brief, it's full of beautiful memories.
When we were leaving, she found out my child liked apricots and even gave him some from her own yard, which was incredibly touching.
The breakfast offered a wide variety, and it was all very enjoyable.
I truly recommend this homestay if you're coming to Dunhuang. I hope everyone gets to experience the genuine warmth and hospitality during their travels here.
Their raisins are also highly recommended!

GGuest UserThis is a fantastic hotel with excellent amenities. They have a huge parking lot in the back, and there are many restaurants nearby. But the absolute highlight is their breakfast. My wife and I have been on road trips for years, staying in hundreds of hotels, and we've never seen a breakfast like this. They offer over 50 different items, including both Chinese and Western options. They even have things other hotels don't, like salmon, 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall' soup, boiled prawns, fried chicken nuggets, and fried fish. Everything is incredibly fresh; when the salmon runs out, they immediately bring out more. And all of this for just 28 RMB per person! The owner is truly thoughtful. I highly recommend staying here!

GGuest UserOverall, the experience was quite good. It's the off-season now, so the price-performance ratio is very high. The parking lot is right at the hotel entrance. The service was very warm and patient. The hotel was also quite clean and tidy, and the elevator was very convenient.

GGuest UserI had an amazing 3 day stay at this accommodation. Great communication on WeChat made it exceptional.
Collected from the airport by the owner and on arrival my tent was upgraded. Theblocation couldn’t have been better, just a five minute walk to Zhangye Colourful Danxia, and the host gave me the best advice on watching sunrise from platform 3. He helped me co-ordinate my other trips to Alien Valley and Binggou Danxia, with driving and advising the best time to go.
Everything was so smooth and taken care of for me. He even leant me his phone charger for my stay as mine were confiscated at the airport for being European manufactured. Breakfast was sufficient, and the evening meals you could pay for on site were a necessary as there was nothing else close to walk to complete bear in mind. The cold broccoli salad I had cooked for me was delicious, but not on the menu, just the lady host doing something lovely.
It was very hot when I visited, 39C during the day and the tents only had a fan, but at least they provided that! Toilet and shower blocks were clean, but be advised it is communal, obviously.
Everyone treated me so well. I would stay here again if I visited Zhangye Danxia.

GGuest UserWe stayed in two hotels in Zhagana for two nights (the first day was sold out), and this one felt better. The hotelier was very considerate, cleaning the room in the morning and checking us in at 10:00 AM. It was convenient to park our car at the hotel and walk to the Grand Loop Trail. The stewed free-range chicken at the restaurant completely washed away the fatigue of the eight-hour Grand Loop Trail. The view from the room and the hotel restaurant was stunning, overlooking the crowded tourist center and Fairy Beach across the way. The hotel also provided complimentary tea and fruit. It was a wonderful stay.

The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains..
The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds.
Also, the hotel provided everything necessary
Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests.
We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling.
They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots
Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone.
They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket.
How they are wonderful and thankful.
If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again.
I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff.
Totally never forgetable hotel and staff.

Good location relatively close to the fortress and on the way to the wall. Plenty of food options around and more within 1 Km around.
The staff at the reception were so helpful. No English spoken but with all the apps communication is not a big issue. It just take more time 🤔😅
The room was big. Great bathroom. A lot of space and storage available. Good air conditioning system.
Breakfast was simply delicious and every day there were different items available. Not much western food but anyway Chinese food is healthier. Staff there was lovely.
The fitness area is a bit minimalist.
Self laundry is available and works great.
I will return for sure.
A Personal tip to people visiting Jiayuguan: I suggest getting to the wall first thing in the morning after breakfast. Taxis is the only option.In July 2024 the price I paid (Meter as usual) was 26 Yuans. After visiting that place take a taxi to the fortress (Jiayu pass) as it is on the way to the city anyway. The cost was 11 Yuans and it is very close to the fortress unlike the main ticket office located 2 Km away (where the bus nr 4 stops).
Further tip if you like HotPot restaurants the NanjiaXiang is a great choice at a very reasonable price. It is 800 meters away from the hotel.
