The facilities are excellent, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options. The service is also very good. However, when filling the bathtub, the hot water isn't clear. Also, the outdoor pool is under renovation and cannot be used.

I was very happy with the room type; it had a small balcony with a nice night view. The air conditioning was strong enough. The food at the restaurant was also good. All these points are a plus. However, there were a few minor drawbacks: 1. Renting a lifebuoy at the swimming pool cost 20 pesos for one hour, which I found unreasonable. 2. Every time the toilet in the room's bathroom was flushed, a strong sewer smell came back up. 3. During check-out, the front desk forcibly charged me a tip. I didn't want to give it, but I had to rush to the airport, and my Grab driver had already arrived, so I reluctantly paid it. I didn't bother arguing. I'm giving a fair review, and the minor issues are based on my experience as a first-time guest at the hotel.

Badian Island Wellness Resort

I imagine this was once a very good hotel, but its best days are definitely behind it. Half of the grounds are abandoned, with dilapidated bungalows standing empty, and cows grazing just beyond the fence. My room was spacious, perhaps even too much so, with a beautiful view of the sea and mountains from the terrace. The furniture was a bit worn in places, but perfectly acceptable. However, you'd expect more from a hotel of this caliber. Cleaning was done twice a day, but it was just okay, nothing special. There were also a lot of mosquitoes, and due to the high ceilings, they were hard to get rid of, biting all night long. The beach was beautiful and well-equipped. I didn't like the sea though – it was murky and there was no marine life. The prices at the restaurants and bars were above average, which was to be expected. There were evening shows. You could stay here for a couple of days, but I wouldn't come back a second time.

The hotel's location is good, but you have to queue for breakfast every day. The restaurant is too small and the variety isn't great, and there's no pool. Outside, there's a construction site, so it's impossible to relax during the day. There's no designated smoking area anywhere within the hotel, so you have to go outside the main entrance to find a place to smoke. Be aware of this!

Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu

If you can get a direct round-trip flight with China Eastern Airlines, I genuinely recommend trying a vacation in Cebu. My first choice was the Shangri-La Hotel, but they didn't have any rooms available at the time. So, I booked this J Park hotel instead, and I ended up feeling like I made an excellent choice because it's truly perfect for families with kids. I'm talking about slightly older kids, maybe 6 and up, as they have a ton of water activities, similar to hotels like Senbo in China. But what makes it even better is its beachfront location. So, if you want to play in the sand or go snorkeling, they offer free equipment rentals, or you can bring your own. And if you're into swimming pools and water slides, there are plenty of those too. I also highly recommend their suite with a separate living room and bedroom. The price for these suites isn't exorbitant, it's super convenient for a family to stay together, and it even has two bathrooms. It's ideal for families traveling with both elderly relatives and young children. And here's a little tip: in Southeast Asian countries like this, if you can negotiate with the staff, you often won't have to pay an excessive amount for an extra bed. I can't go into too much detail, you know what I mean; check other reviews, and you'll get the gist. The hotel breakfast does get very crowded, so I suggest either going early or waiting until later. The hotel's location is also fantastic, with a supermarket and several restaurants right outside. Plus, taking a taxi around there is very affordable; just download the Grab app. There's a massage parlor called Gold Moon directly across from the hotel. This place is excellent; among all the places I tried, their ambiance was the best. Also, in the shopping area across from the hotel, there's a nail salon that is incredibly cheap. For my daughter and five other girls, getting 'QQ nails' cost only about 50-60 RMB each, so it was super affordable. And you can choose from really pretty designs; my daughter said her designs were intricately done, which you can see in the photos. I'm not sure why durians are so expensive in Southeast Asian countries like this. Everyone says you can eat durian in the Philippines, but I didn't find any good ones. However, you absolutely *can* eat excellent large crabs in the Philippines – like the Singaporean chili crab, made with Sri Lankan mud crabs; they are delicious and very reasonably priced. We tried one place opposite the hotel and also took a taxi to the popular Red Crab, which was trending on Xiaohongshu. Personally, I found Red Crab to be tastier and more professional; they also had a wider selection of crabs. If you try both, you'll understand what I mean. Overall, I really liked Cebu's J Park hotel. It's a high-value, safe place with great service, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for families with kids. I heard they even have a babysitting service for infants. One small complaint though: when I booked, I communicated with Ctrip, and it was agreed that we'd get two hours of park playtime daily, but the hotel later denied it. To my surprise, Ctrip directly compensated me. Ctrip is truly amazing; I'll only use Ctrip for future travels!

This turned out to be an incredible choice for our family; Though it is a refurbished property, the rooms' size is very good. The beach was nice and the most astonishing thing for us was the small rock formation near its beach, which hosted an incredible variety of fish and other forms of life. Just a pair of swimming googles or the snorkeling rental equipment here could get one ready in a matter of minutes from your room. The breakfast spread was good and the 'chocolate hour' in the afternoon was a hit amongst all kids and adults.

Kandaya resort is definitely very beautiful and clean. It offers many activities from ARV, horseback rides, archery, island hopping and many more. The breakfast is delicious and has a variety of, especially Philippine cuisine. The kayaking was our personal favorite. It’s just a long drive away from Cebu city. However, should we find ourselves that side of the world again, we will choose this resort anytime. Lastly, the room was so stylish and modern..it was just amazing. Bed is super comfortable.
