NNicoleenI had a fantastic time staying at The Reef Resort! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean and the resort have enough activities to keep you busy. I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends. The breakfast buffet every morning was good with assorted choices. You can snorkel infront of the resort with so many different kind of fish, I was amazed! The resort even packed me a breakfast box when I had to leave early in the mornings for activities. They also have a great SPA with great treatments! A well equipped gym overlooking the ocean. Thank you for making my stay unforgettable!

MMeihuizzzzThe entire resort consists of 1-2 story buildings, giving it a real vacation vibe away from the bustling city. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout our stay. You do have to be patient with the slower service, like dishes being served, which is common in the Philippines, but then again, we were there to enjoy a 'slow-paced life.' If you want your room cleaned quickly, you'll need to call the front desk specifically, otherwise, it typically won't be done until after 3 PM.

DDzhentaoThe hotel is located on a private island. Getting there isn't too difficult, but all the main attractions (sardines, sharks, canyoneering) are quite a distance away. This hotel seems to have been designed for guests who don't want to leave it – a small 'Bounty island' vibe. But it didn't quite hit the mark.
The staff here are constantly smiling. As soon as they see you, they drop what they're doing to greet you. During meals, they approach you every minute to ask questions and tell you about the free 'entertainment' planned for the day. Honestly, it's annoying and doesn't match the status the hotel clearly aims for. In a good hotel, staff are incredibly helpful yet discreet. Here, they can't even clean the room without being noticed. However, you can tell they've been trained this way, rather than it being their natural work style. So, if they were trained differently, these young people would significantly improve the service quality.
Also, don't expect quick responses or help from anyone. It's better to go directly to reception and sort things out yourself. That's the most effective way, otherwise, you might drown in a Kafkaesque castle with a British surrealist twist.
The room we stayed in was magnificent in terms of size and cleanliness. The shower wasn't working well, but they replaced it quickly. When walking around the room, the wardrobe wobbles and makes noise, but these are minor issues. I noticed signs of wood-boring insects in the safe cabinet, but didn't see the insects themselves, so they didn't cause any trouble.
Food. The food here is very poor, compared to all the other places I've visited in the Philippines. A hotel aiming for a high rating shouldn't be serving microwaved store-bought pizza at such a price. If the food is cooked properly (grilled chicken breast, for example), it's invariably oversalted or overspiced. Or both at once. I couldn't find a single dish on the menu that was worth its price or genuinely tasty, except perhaps for the scrambled eggs at breakfast. But that's not enough if you plan to stay on the island all day, is it?
Snorkeling costs 1000 pesos per hour for the boat and 100-200 pesos for equipment (each item separate: mask, fins, aqua shoes). The hotel staff claim the equipment is new, but that's not true. Aqua shoes are essentially unavailable in adult sizes (from 40 and up, we found only two old and torn pairs). The coral reef is dying after the typhoon, but there are still beautiful spots, and my wife and I don't regret snorkeling here. Especially since it was the only activity available on the island.
To sum up, this hotel might suit those who want to isolate themselves from the rest of the world for a resort-style vacation with an average level of service but rather high prices for that level.

GGuest UserGreat hotel with a lovely beach, a nice bar, an excellent pool area, and very good food in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast is also excellent and caters well for all tastes.
The only areas for improvement would be introducing QR code ordering for refreshments on the beach, rather than having to look around for service staff, and improving the check in and check out process, as these areas were frequently crowded.
Overall, it was a great stay and I would be happy to return.

BBradyBeeKandaya resort is definitely very beautiful and clean. It offers many activities from ARV, horseback rides, archery, island hopping and many more. The breakfast is delicious and has a variety of, especially Philippine cuisine. The kayaking was our personal favorite. It’s just a long drive away from Cebu city. However, should we find ourselves that side of the world again, we will choose this resort anytime. Lastly, the room was so stylish and modern..it was just amazing. Bed is super comfortable.

JJpg ZanoriaOur stay at Dusit Thani was overall pleasant. The rooms were comfortable, the property was well-maintained, and the general ambiance met our expectations for a relaxing stay.
However, the check-in experience was quite challenging. I was not physically present during check-in as my family arrived ahead of me. Despite sending an email and making a call to authorize them, the front desk did not allow my family to check in on my behalf. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and delay.
While I understand the importance of security, the process felt overly rigid and left me uncomfortable with the lack of flexibility and trust extended to guests, especially for pre-booked and confirmed reservations with clear communication.
For guests booking multiple rooms or arriving separately, I strongly recommend registering the actual guests who will be staying in each room in advance to avoid similar issues.
Overall, the stay itself was enjoyable, but I hope the hotel can improve its check-in procedures to be more guest-friendly while still maintaining security.
