Posted on Aug 27, 2026|1 King Essential Oceanfront
just-Yi## Environment:
The hotel's decor is very new, with a light luxury style that's quite 'Instagrammable' (in a good way). They've really invested a lot in creating beautiful settings; even the public restrooms are luxuriously decorated. When you're taking photos for your travel blog, you'll find there's a picturesque spot at every turn.
## Room:
The room size isn't huge, but it's generally sufficient. The king-sized bed in the full ocean view room faces the sea directly, so waking up to the ocean view from your bed is truly wonderful. The hotel's in-room amenities are also high-end, including a Dyson hairdryer, Marshall speaker, and a premium Nespresso machine – you can tell they've spared no expense on the hardware. The entire room is equipped with smart home features; the lights and curtains open automatically when you open the door, allowing you to see the sea as soon as you enter, which is a really nice touch. The toiletries are also high quality; the comb and razor don't feel like disposable items at all.
## Pool:
The hotel has four pools, none of which are particularly large. There were more children than I expected. Also, the 'Instagrammable' grid for photos is a bit small and located in the children's leisure pool. To get good 'influencer-style' photos, you either need to go early or rely on photo editing. Plus, you'll have to endure children occasionally splashing you with water guns while you're trying to take pictures.
## Beach:
After walking past the four pools, it's just a few steps to the beach. You can also take a shuttle. The sand is quite fine, and there are beach chairs (though their number is a bit limited, and they were always occupied).
## Dining:
The fact that dining is open until midnight is definitely a big plus. We usually arrived around 10 PM and there was hardly any wait. They offer both à la carte options with a daily changing menu (which are also complimentary) and a relatively fixed buffet, so you get a bit of novelty every day. The dinner restaurants are somewhat pricey. We ended up choosing the 'Lu Jian' restaurant; the portions were huge – a pizza and a pasta dish for two of us was more than enough. Plus, IHG members get a discount.
## Service:
Overall, the service was very enthusiastic. I didn't encounter any of the issues mentioned on Xiaohongshu about inadequate service. Our butler, Angel, was very warm, always accommodating, and answered all our questions. She even proactively contacted us and offered help when she saw us at the front desk with a request.
## Overall:
The hardware, aesthetics, and service are all top-notch, and the overall experience was excellent. The only minor drawback is that some facilities, like the pools and beach chairs, are shared with the Indigo hotel, so it felt a bit crowded.
## Suggestion:
In the future, they might consider providing appropriate guidance and separation for the children's pool and adult pool. Currently, adults and children, 'Instagrammable' photo-ops and children playing are all mixed together, with kids running around with water guns, which feels a bit inconsistent with the Kimpton's brand ethos.

Guest UserThe room offers a full sea view; you can stand on the balcony and look straight out at the ocean. The room was very clean, and they even provided children's toiletries and slippers, plus there's a kids' club. The hotel beach is also excellent, with fine sand that felt even better than Yalong Bay's, though the waves were strong, so swimming wasn't really an option. The hotel's pool area is great, with three pools in total, so there's plenty of space even when it's crowded. Breakfast was good; you wouldn't get tired of it even after three days. The 'mermaid' at the front desk was incredibly helpful and responsive to all requests. Overall, this is the best value-for-money hotel in Tufu Bay.

My ideal hotel:
1. **Smooth Communication**: Pele (the staff member) understood guests well; communication was perfectly fine.
2. **Comfortable Hardware**: Comfy bedding, a spacious bathroom, double sinks... The rooms, starting at 88 square meters, speak for themselves. The privacy design is excellent, and while the garden views aren't stunning, they're perfectly adequate.
3. **Rich and Delicious Breakfast**: Having experienced a breakfast with 7 different egg options, it would take a truly exceptional hotel to rival it... Absolutely fantastic! And they don't stop serving until 11 AM, even at 11:30 AM, there's still food available, which is really great.
👍👍
Of course, there's always room for improvement in the details of management:
1. **Bathroom Trash Can**: The trash can in the bathroom was a bit low-end – a stainless steel flip-top. It looked plain and ugly, and the flip-top made it hard to throw garbage in.
2. **Lack of Assistance**: The 'butler' who escorted us to our room didn't offer to help with our belongings (takeaway food) at all. The room introduction was also very perfunctory (perhaps because I'm an overweight mom with an underage child, looking like country bumpkins in the city, so there wasn't much joy in communication for them).
3. **Billiards Chaos**: Billiards required a reservation (for a billiard competition), but there was no one on-site to organize it. We waited as per our reserved time, but other guests were using the table, and we were told to communicate with them ourselves...
Despite these minor flaws, the positives outweigh the negatives. I'll definitely go back next time I don't have the kids with me. Let the kids take their girlfriends there themselves in the future!

Guest UserI was pleasantly surprised to find such a great value room during the summer holiday. The room was spacious and had a balcony. The front desk staff were very friendly and even provided complimentary breakfast. The swimming pool, while not huge, was perfectly adequate for the kids to have fun. The breakfast selection was rich and varied. It's also not too far from nearby attractions. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

CassiedelvxingrijiThe resort grounds are full of coconut trees, the pool is clean, and the greenery looks incredibly pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was super soft – I had a great night's sleep. The breakfast spread was substantial, and the egg tarts were delicious. They also had sweet potato and corn balls, and the buffet was fully stocked. Both the lobby and outdoor areas were spotless, giving off a strong island holiday vibe. It's been raining in Lingshui these past few days, so the weather has been cool and refreshing, and the air quality is genuinely good.

The service here is incredibly heartwarming; the staff's smiles are truly the most beautiful scenery. Every request is met promptly, and every detail is handled with genuine care. When I checked in, Ms. Fu at the front desk was very efficient. I also dined at the hotel restaurant, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Ms. Yi in the restaurant provided service with a reassuring and pleasant smile.

Comfortable, relaxing, and no crowds. It is a Marriott, after all, and while it's an older property, there are no major issues. Our room opened right onto the pool, and then beyond that, the beach. It was uncrowded, so no need to fight for sun loungers! For the kids, it was beach then pool, pool then beach... as long as they were in the ocean. For the adults, as long as there weren't too many people blocking my view, haha. Breakfast and dinner were good too, and the staff were friendly – high marks all around. A special shout-out to He Cui, who helped us with everything before and after our meals, with such a great attitude!

The hotel is located in Greentown Bluetown, Clear Water Bay, a clean town with excellent landscaping. The hotel building itself is well-built, and the guest rooms are quite spacious, as are the balconies. The air conditioning in the room works great. However, the room amenities are pretty basic, not much better than a budget hotel. The bed was uncomfortable, and the toothbrush was really poor quality. Although the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, the overall grounds aren't very large, so there's no real garden to explore. They don't even have a gym, which is unique among all the five-star hotels I've stayed at.

Posted on Jul 19, 2026|Haiqu Twin Room with Sea-View Balcony
TiantongcuiI specifically chose to stay at the Ocean View Pavilion, and its biggest draw is the incredible convenience for snorkeling. The balcony opens right onto the sea, allowing you to hop in and swim with the fish whenever you like. This immersive near-shore snorkeling experience is truly unique. The only minor downside is that the room can be a bit humid; after all, facing the ocean means high humidity is an unavoidable issue for seaside rooms. Thankfully, the hotel thoughtfully provides a dehumidifier, which effectively alleviates any discomfort caused by the dampness. Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons. If you're looking for an immersive, close-to-the-ocean experience, this place is absolutely perfect. The unique near-shore access is something a standard sea-view room simply can't compare to.

This is a great hotel. Our sea-view room offered stunning ocean views right from the window. The breakfast was decent. The large bed room is perfect for a family with two adults and one child. It's incredibly convenient to take the kids to the beach for swimming and digging in the sand, as it's practically right there. The hotel's off-season prices are reasonable, making it a good choice for those looking to travel during non-peak times.
