3-Star Hotels in Nagano City

The hotel is located about 10-15mins walk from Nagano station and is easily navigated using google map. Hotel provide luggage forwarding service and luggage deposit after checkout. Amenities are not provided in the room but upon check in, hotel staff will inform you to pick what you need from the area at the hotel lobby. It can also be picked up at anytime of the day. The lobby also have a coffee machine serving hot chocolate and coffee throughout the day. Pastry are provided at certain hour as well. One time free Sake tasting per guest where you need to pick up special coin from the hotel staff. Rooms are clean and quite spacious.

The location is a huge plus, right opposite Nagano Station's Zenkoji Exit. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft, so I slept really well. My only minor gripe is that the AC vent was directly over the bed, and the airflow was strong and hard to adjust. It made my trip very convenient, definitely recommend it.

The lockers at the hotel entrance were super convenient for storing luggage for free before check-in and after check-out. The hotel's proximity to Nagano Station and the bustling downtown area made choosing dinner incredibly easy. Plus, the welcome drinks and sweets, along with the availability of rentals like ReFa hairdryers, really showed excellent service!

Had a great experience staying at Toyoko-Inn Nagano Higashi-eki. Rooms were clean, housekeeping made sure you have clean towels everyday, breakfast was great. One small problem - they have 3 washing machine but 2 dryers. Great location near JR train stn, plenty to see and shop. We walked to Zenkoji Temple and stumbled upon the Sakura garden and had a mini picnic there. Will definitely come back to this hotel again the next time we come to Nagano!

Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀

The room is on the smaller side with basic amenities, but the bathtub is a nice touch. The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the station. It was a bit tricky to find at first though. There are also small supermarkets nearby, which is great for grabbing a quick bite to eat.

The hotel's location was easy enough to find, about an 8-minute walk away. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, afternoon tea was over, so I missed out on the complimentary cake they offer guests. However, their ice cream is free and unlimited, so I sat down and had three scoops before heading to my room. The room size was adequate; I had no problem opening a suitcase. Afterwards, I went to their public bath, but it was a bit small and lacked any unique features. The sleep quality was pretty good though. The next morning, their breakfast was quite substantial, with cakes being rotated, and I had several pieces. Overall, I feel like I'd consider coming back.

The hotel is very close to Zenkoji Temple on foot. It is a very special experience to attend the morning class at 6:30 in the morning. Transportation: Across the road from Nagano Station, the buses to the city are all at the station entrance (both 1 and 7 are OK for Zenkoji. I took 1 bus which is closer. I bought the ticket before getting off). After getting off the bus, you can walk to the hotel in a few minutes. Hotel service: There was a Japanese waiter on the night we went there, but it was difficult to find someone if something happened. Hotel food: We booked a one-night stay and two meals. Although they were all vegetarian, they tasted surprisingly good. In addition, I ordered grape juice for my daughter, which tasted special in beige. Hotel facilities: You can't ask for too much from the facilities of the shukubo. Try not to bring luggage. We stayed in a Japanese-style room on the third floor. If you bring luggage, it will be very difficult to carry it up the stairs by yourself. Plug: There is no USB, please bring enough two plugs; Toilet: Only on the first floor, no room, you need to run down every time if you live upstairs; Washing: Only in the bathroom on the first floor and near the men's bath, it is relatively simple, and there are no face wash and skin care products. Although the room has air conditioning and a gas stove, the overall temperature is not high and it is a bit cold, but surprisingly, the tatami is very warm. I looked at it and it turned out to be Nishikawa's down quilt. The hotel basically has a curfew at 9 pm. Temple sightseeing: Buy a 1200 pass for Zenkoji Temple at the hotel. Volunteers will lead you to the temple for morning classes at 6:30 in the morning. As an experience, it is very good, but remind you to dress warmly. The time for listening to the chanting is a bit long. My feet are sore from the cold. The volunteers finish at about 8:30. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, you can go to Zenkoji Temple to buy amulets and worship on your own. There are many souvenirs and food, as well as Starbucks on the street directly opposite the main temple. If you are not very tired, you can walk back to Nagano. We encountered heavy snow when we returned to the temple after breakfast. It felt very good. I wish you all a happy trip.

The room was very nice - sufficiently large and with all necessary amenities (even a small fridge). The room was clean and in good condition. The staff was very kind and stored my luggage for free, as I arrived early in the morning. The hotel is conveniently located, yet in a rather quiet place. It's a walking distance from both Nagano station and Zenkoji temple (approximately 20-25 minutes), however, do note that the nearest bus stop is about 900 meters away, so if you got a lot of luggage and do not intend to get a taxi, that may be a bit far. They also have coin operated washing machines and dryers, in case you need them. Overall, a great option for most travelers, especially in terms of value for money.

Very good location, just opposite the train station. Reception is on level 2, but staff is helpful to help carry luggages to and fro ground floor. Room is small and toilet is squeezy, but still decent for a short stay. There is a Shampoo Bar at the reception to pick up stoiletries. Breakfast is good, the complimentary soba noodles on selected weekday nights is also great. Nice view from the 10th floor, and also free space for customers to chill during the day. Water was not provided complimentary to customers but instead was earned through a game.
