"This is a perfect spot in Nagano if you want to take a break before heading to other parts such as Hakuba for skiing . It is literally right at the station and connected via MIDORI where you can buy groceries and with lots of restaurants. Due to fight delay, we arrived late at night at around 10pm. MIDORI shops were all closed but ht path to hotel still open and we can still find plenty of cafes nearby. It has reserved Alpico bus to Hakuba right at hotel or you may go to the regular bus stop at bus station 26 for higher frequency of bus service. Will definitely stay here again if we need to stop over at Nagano. Though the hotel is not new, it’s spacious and clean enough for a comfortable stay ."

My child and my husband tried the hot spring, but it was just a typical large public bath 🫠, not a real hot spring. Perhaps I had high expectations because of the good reviews, but I found it to be just average!"

"Our family had a great stay. Booked 4Ns with buffet breakfast. Very good japanese breakfast(see pic). 24hr UCC coffee available with pastries and sake tasting(limited time period), all free! Personal amenities items were also very good quality (DHC) and even the shower amenities (Pola). Hotel service is very efficient. Check in and out process were both smooth and fast. There's laundry area and microwave."

"The room was very clean, breakfast was great, and the views were beautiful. It's just a little bit far from Nagano Station. I stayed here for three days and visited Zenkoji Temple, Togakushi, Jigokudani to see the snow monkeys bathing in the hot springs, Nozawa Onsen Village, and Karuizawa. Nagano is truly beautiful, and I'll definitely come back again!"

"1️⃣ Facilities: The room was surprisingly spacious (though I was a bit tipsy when I checked in, so I'm not entirely sure – maybe I got an upgrade? I don't know). It had a washing machine, an induction cooktop, and a microwave. It was like a whole suite. 2️⃣ Location: It's south of Nagano Station, not too far. I took the JR from Matsumoto to Nagano, and after drinking, I dozed off on the JR platform for half an hour, but still managed to walk to the hotel. 3️⃣ Onsen: I was too drunk to use the hot spring when I checked in. The next morning, I was rushing to get to Togakushi, so I missed out again. Thinking about it now, what a waste! But I did see a sign for the bathhouse in the elevator."

"It was my first trip to Nagano with my elderly mother, and we visited Togakushi. As other people have written, the inn has retained the good old things about it, while incorporating new elements. The elaborate dishes were wonderful. Not only that, the landlady was a truly mysterious person. She was friendly and kind, and I couldn't believe it was the first time I'd met her, and I felt a sense of nostalgia. I never expected that we'd have such a great time chatting in the lobby (for quite a while) (^^) It's a really good memory that we were able to talk about so many different things. I'd like to visit in different seasons and experience different scenery and seasonal sensations. Thank you so much for your hospitality."

"Great location. Friendly owners. Comfortable room and plentiful breakfast. Located on main street leading to temple and inside Niomon gate. Less than 5 minutes walk to Hondo with plenty of shops outside the door. Approximately 1 mile to Nagano main station and a few minutes to a smaller station."

"Japanese style room, small but good function, in a room have a bathtub like we are doing Onsen too. at reception, we can pick things we want to use such as coffee, toothbrushes, etc.. the distance from Nagano station to the hotel is about 10 mins walk, which does not disturb us. There is a nice restaurant nearby, we have Eel and pork with rice, which is so good."

Zenkoji Temple Yakuoin
"This place is ~5mins walk from Zenkoji temple. neighborhood is peaceful at night. Shoes to be removed outside the accommodation. Rooms are on the 2nd floor so you'll have to carry your luggage up (there's no lift). Room (with window) is huge. You'll have to head downstairs to use the shared toilet and shared onsen (no toilet inside the room). We were only allowed 30mins of onsen time for 2 pax - couples weren't allowed to use the onsen concurrently so we had to go one after another (i'm not sure if the instructions got lost in translation..). Felt very rushed so i didnt really get to enjoy the onsen experience, but overall was nice and clean. Interesting 6.30am tour around the area and within the temple itself, followed by a simple vegetarian breakfast (porridge with omakase-styled sides with miso soup) back at the accommodation. The morning tour lasted from 6.30am - 8.30am. The accommodation provided a fleece blanket to each pax to bring to Zenkoji temple to keep us warm during the morning praying ceremony. We went on 30 Dec and it was SO COLD. Overall interesting experience but accommodation price is pretty steep IMO."
