"The service at Shandong Hotel is consistently excellent, as always.
However, the lack of non-smoking rooms is unacceptable. I specifically requested and noted a non-smoking, quiet room when booking, and a staff member even called me before check-in. Yet, upon arrival, I wasn't assigned a truly non-smoking room. The room they gave me was incredibly quiet, but it reeked of smoke as soon as I entered. They promptly sent an air purifier, but it didn't do much. I opened the windows and turned on the AC for ventilation, but my throat already started feeling irritated and I was coughing before I even finished my makeup. Frustrated, I called again to ask for a room change. They moved me to another room that had just been cleaned, and the smell was slightly better. The supervisor on the 21st floor, a lady in a black uniform, was absolutely wonderful. She was smiling the whole time, very enthusiastically helped me with my luggage, and asked if I needed anything else. She was incredibly kind, I regret not asking her name. The customer service was also excellent; I drink a lot of water and had to ask for it twice on the first day. On the second day, they restocked my room with plenty, which I appreciated. Thanks!
Getting around is also very convenient. Taxis are helped with door opening and luggage. I could walk to Quancheng Park easily. Basically, I could order most of the food I wanted.
The complimentary welcome fruit, small yellow peaches, were crispy and sweet."
