Pet Friendly Hotels in Pingyao County

The location is fantastic, right on the edge of the old town center. The building itself is beautiful, a charming and historic old structure. The underfloor heating wasn't very warm, so we had to use the air conditioning, which made it a bit dry in winter. The shower had low water pressure and felt weak, though the sink faucet was fine. Overall, it was okay. If you're visiting the old town, I'd still recommend staying in one of these old inns within the walls; it's convenient for getting around and a great way to experience a centuries-old building.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October, with my friends who booked separate rooms. We had a free transfer from and to the train station which was very handy. The room was clean and very modern looking, with a smart kettle platform (you need to tap twice on the kettle icon to activate it and boil water - it wasn't written anywhere). The receptionist gave us tips about shopping and also shared his own tea with us, so lovely! The only thing I would like to improve is a Wifi coverage, somehow inside the room it was always saying 'no data connection' despite showing the strongest signal. And the other Wifi they set up for me worked only outside of the room, so I would need to open the door each time I wanted a signal. But I had mobile internet as well so I survived. Just a warning: I think it's unprofessional to play video games without headphones when customers approach you, but maybe the staff's paycheque is low and the manners are not deeply rooted. It just looked unusual to me, because in my country you can lose your job if you behave this way.

The guesthouse is a historic building, a two-courtyard siheyuan (traditional courtyard house), located behind the Ma Family Courtyard. We were busy taking photos as soon as we arrived. We stayed in the ”Children's Fun” room. Although it didn't have a separate wet and dry area, we loved its sunny location; seeing the sunlight streaming in in the morning was so vibrant. The owner was a very kind young man. Because we needed to use an old-fashioned lock when leaving the house, preventing others from entering, we asked him to deliver supplies to a small room in the first courtyard, which we picked up ourselves in the evening. The guesthouse originally only offered one pick-up or drop-off service, but the owner offered both, and even helped with our luggage. Very nice! Wishing him booming business!

A truly authentic stay. If you want to experience the charm of traditional Pingyao, this hotel is the perfect choice. Staying here allows you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of historic China. The room is simple yet comfortable, set within a beautifully preserved traditional courtyard, and features a classic Chinese kang-style bed. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful despite the language barrier.

We had a lovely stay here in Pingyao. The hotel was utmost welcoming and kind, starting with preliminary information, a free pick-up up from the train station, a suggested sightseeing tour route with the most relevant sights in the ancient city, and a restaurant recommendation. Beyond that, they served free light breakfast and helped us in every aspect we asked for. Highly recommend to stay in this property in this ancient location.

It was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us. The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places! The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day. We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

This charming, old-fashioned courtyard is a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the old city, yet still very close to the bustling pedestrian street. The owner is incredibly genuine and offers fantastic service. They even arranged car transfers to and from the high-speed train station, which was a huge plus. It was a wonderful stay! I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit and will recommend it to my friends.

I was very fortunate to choose Glory Homestay for my trip to Pingyao. Although it's outside the ancient city, it's incredibly convenient for getting around, just a 5-6 minute walk to the entrance, avoiding the hassle of traffic control within the ancient city. The room was clean and cozy, the bedding was so soft I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. The owner is a 20-year veteran who was incredibly welcoming. He not only helped plan the route but also recommended many local favorites. The prices were very reasonable, only a few dozen yuan – truly excellent value for money. I highly recommend everyone stay here!

I was a bit conflicted about where to stay in the ancient city before checking in, but I'm really happy with my final choice. This hotel, 'Seven Ins and Seven Outs Jinshang Mansion,' is right on West Street, making it super convenient to get around. The rooms are clean, and the bathrooms are well-equipped. They even have a travel photographer in the lobby! I bought my 'See Pingyao Again' show tickets at the front desk for a group discount price. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to and from the show, with the pickup/drop-off point at Xixi Gate – make sure you don't go to the wrong spot! Highly recommend it!
