"The B&B is close to the North Gate, so it was pretty easy to find. The owner even picked me up from Pingyao Ancient City Station late at night, which I really appreciated – it made my travel experience so much better. They carefully explained the locations of attractions and gave me a map. When I left, they even gave me some vinegar as a gift; they're incredibly warm and welcoming. Seriously, if you're coming to Pingyao, you should definitely stay here, haha! It's safe, clean, and the facilities are all there. For longer stays, they even proactively clean your room. The decor has a local flair too – who wouldn't want to try sleeping on a traditional heated 'kang' bed without any fuss? Thanks for everything, I'll definitely stay here again next time. Loved it, loved it!"

GGuest UserI've traveled to many places, and this stay was truly wonderful, exceeding my expectations. Even before we arrived, the owner's thoughtfulness impressed me. They added me on WeChat to communicate in advance, and when they learned we had an elderly person with mobility issues, they arranged a wheelchair for us, saving us a lot of trouble. I'm so grateful! 🙏 The room hygiene was impeccable; every nook and cranny was spotless. I'll let you in on a secret: the owner is a Virgo, haha! This is a guesthouse with warmth and a personal touch. Go for it, everyone!

From travel and transportation to travel guides, he patiently answered questions and gave detailed introductions. The inn has an independent small courtyard. We live in a kang bed. The room is not big, but it is clean and tidy. The only shortcoming is that the water storage capacity of my water heater is too small😅Go to the ancient city for a walk. The boss also emphasized not to shop in Jingcheng. If you have anything, contact me on WeChat in time. 😀Before leaving, I also gave two bottles of old vinegar🤩Thank you for the boss's warm hospitality. CCristinaA very beautiful hotel that takes you back in time. The hotel is a work of art and has also a very relaxing outdoor traditional garden. We opted for the traditional beds and we had a great time. Service was spotless and very attentive. The hotel is located right by the main streets and you can walk to the attractions easily. We definitely recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful, specially the patios. The location is just 10 minutas walking from the North Gate of the wall. In reception they do not speak English, but they were very helpful with the translator. However, if you really need to rest, this hotel is not made for you. At 7am there were already families and kids shouting and playing in the patio. Even with taps, it was too noisy to keep sleeping. The hotel is also offering folkloric dressing and photos shoots, so you might find people take pictures in front of your room anytime, also at night with flashes

SSimpleTravelerGreat place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

GGuest UserGood reviews for the inn! Although the weather is a bit cold, the enthusiasm of the people in Pingyao is still very heartwarming! I arrived quite late. There were no lights in the ancient city. The boss was worried that it would be unsafe to find someone and came out to pick him up. When I stayed, it was also possible that the ancient city was full of old buildings. The boss was always concerned about whether the water was hot or not, whether the bed was hot or not. Yes, the whole process was very considerate. Because it was a short trip and I didn’t have time to go to too many places. The boss said he would introduce it in more detail when he comes back next time. The environment is pretty good. If you like the nostalgic style of a small courtyard, you can try it. If you like the hotel style It is not recommended to stay in such an inn with an elegant environment, but I personally feel that you should experience a place like this in the ancient city. I still recommend it. The main reason is that the price/performance ratio is quite high!

GGuest UserThe hotel environment is still okay because I arrived late at night and the front desk helped me delay my check-out time. I had a good night's sleep during the journey. The transportation in the ancient city is also convenient, and the cleanliness of the rooms is also up to standard. Perhaps due to early booking, the price is more affordable. I recommend all hikers to stay, and I would like to thank a middle-aged female manager with short hair weighing 121 pounds for telling me about the folk stories of the ancient city!🤡
