2232295****During this trip to Datong, the homestay I stayed in was unexpectedly good!
Service details: On the way from picking us up at the South Station to returning to the B&B, the proprietress introduced us to Datong's travel guide and Datong's food, which made me look forward to Datong. When we checked in, she also thoughtfully prepared welcome fruits and snacks, as well as coffee and tea. During your stay, any needs will be responded to promptly, making you feel as comfortable as at home. We came back from a day of fun and were so tired that we didn’t finish our meal. When the boss found out, he even cooked us a bowl of knife-cut noodles. He was so thoughtful. In his spare time, he would chat with us, drink tea, and make freshly ground coffee for us. Treated us like family. On the second day of our stay, the landlady gave us a surprise in the afternoon. She actually went out to buy some delicious jelly and sent it to the room, allowing us to taste the delicacy that we couldn't find on our own. I was touched by the boss lady's enthusiasm towards us.
Hygiene: The room is spotless, the bed is tidy, the mattress is moderately soft and hard, there is no peculiar smell in the bathroom, the toiletries are neatly arranged, and there is no dust even in the corners. It is very safe to stay here. The homestay was opened not long ago, and there is no trace of new decoration in the room. The decoration in the house is very design-oriented, and you can tell at a glance that it has been carefully selected and arranged. The whole house also has intelligent voice control.
Surrounding environment: The location is very good. You can see the ancient city wall in just ten minutes' walk from the Four Archways. The small scenery in the small courtyard of the homestay is also very warm and cute. You can also watch the stars in the courtyard at night, and the atmosphere is perfect.
Breakfast experience: The breakfast is rich and delicious, with local specialty knife-cut noodles (the sauce for the knife-cut noodles is made by the boss lady herself, and the taste is amazing), corn, sweet potatoes, small pumpkins, small cold dishes mixed by the boss lady herself, and fruits. You can eat a full meal every morning and start a full day.
When we left, the proprietress drove us to the jelly shop where she had eaten since she was a child to buy some delicious food, and then took us to the train station. This experience in Datong didn't feel like traveling, it felt like I was visiting relatives. They were so warm, thoughtful and considerate. This B&B is perfect in every aspect. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Datong!

The decoration facilities are very new, in an elegant courtyard style. The breakfast is rich and delicious. It is said to be specially prepared by a nutritionist. It contains whole grains, vegetables and protein. The proprietress is very nice, warm and simple. The most important thing is that she has a scenic spot pass, and she picked us up at the gate of the Hanging Temple scenic spot, so we don’t have to take the scenic spot bus. It’s so convenient!

She mentioned the spectacular thousand-year-old wooden pagoda in nearby Datong's Yingxian County, so we decided to visit Datong. When we booked a hotel, we found a fantastic deal, so we booked five nights, only arriving in Beijing for one. Once we arrived, we discovered Datong is truly a gem. The temperature was a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius, and the attractions were breathtaking, from the natural wonders—the earth forests and volcanic clusters—to the cultural and historical attractions—the Yungang Grottoes, the Datong Museum, the Hanging Temple, the wooden pagoda, and the Huayan Temple. I highly recommend this B&B. It's clean, the service is excellent, and the location is fantastic. In the morning, when I opened the curtains, I could see the sunrise over the mountains—a breathtaking view. It's also conveniently located near the train station, just a 10-minute bike ride to the ancient city. The shopping mall is just around the corner, and the famous Long Juxiang is right there—delicious food with no lines. The best part is, I expected the proximity to the train station to be noisy, but it was incredibly quiet. Otherwise, I would have stayed a few more days to catch the concert in Beijing. Datong was the main attraction of this concert trip, and the concert itself took a back seat. I was so happy!

HHunboonCab fare from Hunyuan bus station to hotel is RMB10(fixed price),from hotel to Hengshan and Xuankong temple is RMB20 and 15 respectively. Hotel staff provided great service and advice, helping with the laundry washing and gave us aloe Vera gel for moisturising. They also helped us to confirm the bus trip from Hunyuan to Wutaishan by calling and contacting the bus station staff to ensure we will not be cheated. There's a shopping centre opposite which sells apparel and shoes at wholesale price. Lots of food options nearby too

Our room was larger than expected, decorated in a modern minimalist style, and impeccably clean with no hard-to-reach corners. The highlight was the bed; the mattress and pillows were perfectly firm, and the water pressure was strong and consistent, leaving us feeling refreshed and refreshed.
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient during check-in. What was most touching was that when we casually asked about nearby restaurants, they provided detailed recommendations, all of which were delicious and reasonably priced!

RReinaAjummah at the front desk is very accommodating. I arrived at 6:30am and they were able to provide me a room at 8am. Very close to the railway station. The downside is room smells tobacco. The common bathroom is extremely dirty and smells like urine. There were even poop left is there without flashing down. I had to go up to the 3rd floor and use the bathroom there instead of the one in our floor.
No towels, toiletries, slippers, hair dryer. If you just need a day to rest that is near the railways station, you can book this, otherwise look for other hotels in the area.
