Guest UserThis guesthouse in Datong is an absolute gem! The room is huge, so spacious for our family of four. It's incredibly clean, and all the facilities are brand new. The kids absolutely loved soaking in the bathtub. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, starting our day off with a great mood. The owner is super nice and accommodating, always happy to help, and very pet-friendly. All the staff members were smiling throughout our stay. I highly, highly recommend staying here!

Facilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly.
Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable.
Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed.
Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant.

The hotel offered good value for the price, with decent facilities and a high level of cleanliness. The location was convenient for drop-off and walking into the city, which felt easygoing. I wasn't particularly keen on breakfast options, but maybe my taste and that did offer a western option that we didn’t try. Overall, it was a great experience for the cost & the staff Helen & Fenny were very helpful and made our trip easy and seamless.

Julz d’traveller*The staff are nice to accomodate us.
*The place is close to the scenic spot (few minutes by car).
*The breakfast is not too bad. Few choices but it will fill you up.No drinks (juice or coffee).
*The accomodation was nice to drop and pick us up at the scenic area. They dropped us off to the bus station going to Datong city.
*Problem was the bad odour coming from the toilet. We think it’s from the drainage. We can’t even open the door for few minutes for air to come in because it is freezing. It’s negative degrees.
*The room was nice and comfortable. I can’t find photos or video of the interior. The size of the room is perfect. It has a long bench.Table with 1 small chair.Tv, closet, slippers, toothbrush, hair dryer, kettle and 2 bottle of water.
*Last picture was epic:)

I can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

Cornelis HeemskerkWe had a great stay for 4 nights at this homestay. Our room was very comfortable and offered enough space. The bed was quite had but we had a good sleep every night. The breakfast was only Chinese style but different every day. Coffee could be taken from their coffee corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Anonymous UserI was literally in tears, it was my first time sleeping with underfloor heating. I even turned on my electric blanket at home afterwards, but it's just not the same. No static electricity, and it's a vibrant, living kind of warmth, unlike the dry, lifeless heat of an electric blanket. The hotel itself is stunning, with French-style ceilings that took my breath away – seriously, trust a coal boss's taste! The owner even upgraded me for free to a room with a big window. It faced a school, though, and seeing them having classes late at night made me nostalgic for my own school days – what a tough life! I ordered some kind of purple clay dish, and the 'guoyourou' (sautéed sliced pork) was absolutely to die for.

sylva7The hotel is new (the TV screen protector hadn't even been removed yet) and the closets weren't fully set up.
If you're arriving by car, you access the hotel via the second-level underground parking lot.
Communication with the staff on Trip.com before arrival was excellent when I needed information.
The rooms we chose were in the basement, but the hallway was lit by natural light through skylights.
The owners don't speak English, but we managed to communicate using a translation app.
They were very responsive and resolved any issues, even at midnight.
The showers are a bit cramped; either the shower cabin isn't perfectly square, or in the other room, the space between the shower cabin and the sink is restricted.
Housekeeping was done daily, and water bottles were provided.
However, the toilet paper was supplied in very small quantities. If you ask at reception, they'll give you more, but it's always a hassle to have to go and ask when a normal amount could be provided initially. We only had one roll, which didn't seem full, regardless of whether you had a room for two or three people.
The electrical outlets don't accommodate French plugs, similar to what you find in Shanghai and Beijing.
There's no laundry service available.
The location is good, in a new district that's still under construction.
The alley leading to it at night is lovely, with the illuminated storefronts of the various houses.
The hotel can arrange a paid taxi service between the station and the hotel for guests staying in the basement rooms.
The rooms are well-equipped; only a few finishing touches, like bathroom caulking, are still needed.

Guest UserThis hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

Amazing, 3 minutes from the train station and surrounded by a lot of restaurants. I was able to check in super early which was a very nice experience after a long train trip.
The room is just perfect, private bathroom, comfortable bed and it's a warm place.
