This stay really exceeded expectations, and must be praised by stars!
- The design is full: the room is a modern and simple style I love, the terrazzo sink, the vine partition and the Japanese tatami area, every detail is tasteful, the photo hair circle is asked!
- The sense of space is absolutely perfect: the open layout makes the whole room look particularly spacious, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and there is a super healing leisure area. The city view outside the window is simply the top enjoyment of the holiday. The view is super good, the child is super happy to climb on the window sill to watch the fireworks!
- Details control ecstasy: The projection, atmosphere lights, and intimate small ornaments in the room can all see the boss's intentions. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, clean and spotless, so there is no need to worry about hygiene.
- Service is super intimate: from check-in to check-out, the whole experience is very smooth, the staff is warm and thoughtful, people feel as comfortable as at a friend's house.

"The location is great, near the west gate in the ancient city (about five minutes walk), three minutes walk to Huayan Temple, five or six minutes walk to Sandaocai Bell Tower, and one minute to Huayan Temple bus station. During the May Day holiday, the ancient city is restricted by time, so the area near the bus station and the ancient city gate is very important. If you stay in the B&B hotels in the ancient street at the entrance of Huayan Temple, you have to walk out to take a bus (the pedestrian street car can't enter), so the location is really amazing. The scenic spots in the ancient city can be reached by bus.
The first floor is the lobby (café), the second floor is the guest rooms, restaurant and courtyard, and there is a balcony on the second floor, where you can drink tea or coffee while looking at Huayan Temple. The breakfast is a set meal, very healthy, with fruits, eggs, vegetables, coarse grains, knife-cut noodles, bread slices, etc.
The room we stayed in was not particularly large, but it was ok. Only the bathroom was slightly small, with complete bathroom supplies and clean hygiene.
The service was very good, there was water and sea buckthorn juice in the room, and it was a very warm family. The child said that he would stay here again when he came to Datong next time, and he wanted to change to a room with a loft."

"I saw pictures of this guesthouse on Xiaohongshu on Friday, and by Monday, I was off on an impromptu four-day, three-night in-depth trip to Datong. This guesthouse has an excellent location, facing Huayan Temple, and its interior design is quite unique. My room didn't have a window, but thanks to the indoor dry landscape garden and the ceiling lights mimicking outdoor light, it didn't feel stuffy at all. The whole place features smart home technology. They provide complimentary fruit, snacks, drinks, and even an in-room foot spa basin. There's also a laundry room available. The staff were incredibly friendly. The next day, when I left for the Yungang Grottoes and the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, they even packed me breakfast (eggs and corn) at my request. It was a lifesaver, as I didn't have time for lunch during my day's itinerary. I also saw guests who ordered afternoon tea taking photos here. Highly recommended!"

"Choosing the right hotel is so important! It's just a ten-minute walk from Datong Ancient City, and the scenery in Datong is absolutely stunning. The room was clean and bright, and the housekeeping was exceptionally thorough – not even a water stain on the vanity. The biggest surprise was how quiet it was; you couldn't hear any noise even in the hallway, which was a huge relief for someone like me who struggles with sleep. My overall experience exceeded expectations, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!"

"On the day I checked in, I was shown available rooms in two different buildings. I felt the main building was better. The front desk and restaurant are all in one building, so even if the weather's bad, I don't have to go outside for breakfast. Plus, the main building felt fresher and cleaner.
The room facilities show that the renovation was done with great care; they used very good brands. The heating, toiletries, and bedding were all very comfortable. I even wanted to ask the owner what brand the down comforters were!
The mini-bar had snacks, fruit, and even books about ancient architecture, which was great for planning sightseeing.
It was quite close to Daiwang Mansion, where we watched the iron flower show at night. To get to the Drum Tower area or Huayan Temple, you could cycle, take a taxi, or walk a bit further.
Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. The knife-cut noodles and bean flour were both good.
I used the pick-up service on the day I arrived, and I received a call as soon as I landed. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to friends visiting Datong."

The front desk service deserves five stars; they made me feel truly at home. It's a shame I don't have photos of the hotel on this phone, they're on another."

Guest UserIve just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed.
The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived.
2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up.
3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed.

Datong Wangfu Zhizun Hotel definitely deserves five stars! The location is superb, close to the ancient city and convenient for getting around. The room was super spacious, clean, tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The service was warm and attentive, and the front desk was efficient. The breakfast was plentiful, with local specialties like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. Free underground parking was also very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. This is my top choice when visiting Datong!

The environment is great! The house is big and clean. It really exceeded the expectations of this trip. Traveling to Datong is cleaner than Datong City and is close to the expressway and scenic spots. It is very convenient to eat in residential areas. Xiao Wu at the front desk has a good service attitude and is clean and hygienic. , parking is free, will stay again next time
