"This hotel is really great. My friends visited in spring when the courtyard was full of spring blossoms, and now in autumn, the fruits are already on the branches. I stayed in my room alone during a rainy day and it was so comfortable and peaceful. The soundproofing in the room is excellent, and the bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable, leading to a perfect night's sleep. Compared to 'Jixia Mountain' in Chongqing, this place is much larger and has more complete facilities. The breakfast, especially compared to hotels I stayed in later, was absolutely amazing – though the variety of fruits could be improved. It would be even more perfect if the common areas weren't sometimes a bit noisy with too many people. The service is excellent, making it a hotel definitely worth revisiting."

"Seriously, this is how a five-star hotel should be! The bed was so soft I didn't want to leave, and the service was so thoughtful it really touched me. The soundproofing was absolutely top-notch, I slept until noon undisturbed. Breakfast was incredibly filling, and the value for money was outstanding. This is hands down the most comfortable hotel I've ever stayed in while traveling; from check-in to check-out, the entire experience was delightful. I've already recommended it to all my friends."

"I stayed for 3 days and was very satisfied! On the first night, I checked in around 10 PM. I had booked a twin room by mistake, but after speaking with the front desk, they changed it to a business king room. There was already fruit in the room. The breakfast buffet the next morning, although crowded, had a rich variety of fresh dishes, which I was very pleased with. For dinner on the second night, I chose the hotel's Chinese restaurant on the 11th floor. They had a set meal for 2-3 people for only 98 RMB, which was incredibly good value for money. For two consecutive nights, I received late-night snacks and thoughtful cards. My stay was excellent, and it left me with a very positive impression of Datong."

"I had seen some negative reviews beforehand, but my experience there was actually quite pleasant. I stayed for three nights. 1. The front desk service was excellent. I had requested a high-floor room in advance, and they accommodated it. They also briefly explained the facilities. 2. Housekeeping was done daily. One day, I mentioned I didn't need it, but when I left the room, I ran into the cleaner who even asked if I didn't want the trash taken out! (Such dedication!) 3. When going to the pool, you need to change into slippers. The staff there would place them neatly on the ground for you, not just throw them down. The entrance to the pool is separate for men and women. The cleaners along the women's pathway always greeted me warmly. I must say, the cleaners in the women's changing room pathway were very dedicated; they were constantly attentive to my needs. Their service was better than many dedicated bathhouses. 4. It's best to go for breakfast early. The freshly pan-fried steak was good, and the variety of other items was also rich. It would be a waste not to eat them. 5. Six bottles of water were replenished in the room every day. I didn't have to buy any bottled water during my entire stay."

"This hotel is located just outside Datong Ancient City, offering views of the city from the room windows. It's split into two buildings, A and B, and has a somewhat dated decor, but the rooms are quite spacious, clean, and tidy, making for a pleasant stay. The hotel offers great value for money and even provides a simple dinner. If you're tired from exploring and don't feel like going out in the evening, you can grab dinner right in the hotel lobby on the first floor. The breakfast spread is also rich and comprehensive, with both Chinese and Western options. While the facilities are a bit old, it's simple and comfortable."

"The hotel's location and facilities are indeed excellent, but the service and hygiene management haven't kept up. My child and I had a decent stay on the first night, so I decided to extend our stay for two more nights directly at the hotel. Since it was a last-minute extension, our original room was already booked, and the front desk recommended we switch to another family-friendly room. Unexpectedly, that very night we discovered multiple bugs in the bed, including stink bugs. At first, I considered it might be a fluke caused by an open window, and since it was very late after a day out and I didn't want to bother my child anymore, I didn't ask to change rooms. However, when we woke up the next day, there were over a dozen bugs in the bed, and some even left bloodstains after being squashed. I specifically asked hotel staff to come and inspect the room. Family rooms are supposed to provide a worry-free stay for families with children, so this level of hygiene is truly disappointing. I hope the hotel takes room cleanliness, pest control, and pre-check-in inspections seriously, so that the service truly matches the hotel's location and facilities."

"The room was very comfortable. Service: The room service was excellent. An auntie surnamed Cui and a young man (sorry, I forgot to check his name) who I believe are in charge of the executive floor, were very quick to respond. Late-night porridge: A bowl of millet porridge late at night is incredibly comforting for the stomach."

"Location: The location is excellent, right in Datong Ancient City. The hotel is directly across from Huayan Temple and Huayan Temple Square. It's also very close to many famous Datong restaurants like Zini 369, Longjuxiang, Beiwei Jiayan, and Xijindao, all within walking distance, which is incredibly convenient. Service: It's understandable that hotel prices increase during peak tourist season, but the service should also keep up. Before check-in, a hotel staff member called to ask about any special requests. I mentioned I had a child and needed children's amenities prepared in advance. However, upon arriving at the room, I found none were provided. I called the front desk to request them, but waited a very long time without anything being delivered. My family eventually stopped a cleaner in the hallway to get them. On the second day of our stay, the bathroom wasn't even cleaned – the trash was still in the bin, and the tissues hadn't been replaced. There was no staff outside to assist with luggage. On a positive note, my child lost a tooth and got some blood on the duvet, and the cleaning staff promptly replaced it, which was great. Breakfast: The restaurant isn't large, and there weren't many diners, which made for a comfortable experience. They offered freshly cooked items like lamb offal soup and knife-cut noodles. The variety of dishes wasn't extensive, but it was decent. Overall, there's still room for improvement regarding the details."

"Choosing the Intercity Hotel in Datong was definitely a comfortable experience. This is a German-style hotel with a convenient location, not far from the ancient city. I'm quite sensitive to hygiene and noise, and this hotel's room was clean and tidy, and it was very quiet for resting at night. What's most commendable is the hotel's service, especially the front desk staff. They were incredibly thoughtful, quickly handled the check-in process, and enthusiastically recommended local specialty restaurants. When Datong experienced a sudden drop in temperature, they immediately offered a warm cup of water upon entry, which was particularly heartwarming. Additionally, the hotel's breakfast was very extensive. It's an exceptionally good hotel, highly recommended."

"I stayed at the VIP Building for over ten days during my summer escape to Datong, and overall, I was very satisfied. It was an excellent choice. The hotel has a large footprint and a great location. You can walk north to the ancient city or south to large shopping malls like Parkson and Xingjuhui. Of course, taking a taxi is even more convenient; for around ten yuan, you can get to many places in the city. The hotel boasts a spacious courtyard, making self-parking very easy. There's also an underground parking garage with direct elevator access to the ground floor lobby. Within the courtyard, Datong Hotel and the VIP Building are arranged one behind the other. The courtyard is filled with fountains and greenery, creating a very pleasant environment. From the hotel courtyard, you can descend steps to Xinguo Temple and Yingbin Plaza. Even better, for those who find stairs difficult, there's a separate elevator for convenient access. The park isn't small at all; it offers a new beautiful view at every turn, and you can also visit the ancient Ming Dynasty Xinguo Temple. Hotel breakfast is served on the first floor of the VIP Building, offering both Chinese and Western cuisine. The selection is incredibly rich, and the best part is the abundance of hot dishes. The flavors are a refreshing change from the usual local fare—light, not spicy, and not greasy, making them exceptionally delicious. My favorite was the stir-fried tomatoes with eggs. The knife-sliced noodles are also a must-try; the chef slices and cooks them fresh right in front of you. Kuai Lei (a local specialty) is also a must-eat. Plates are cleared promptly, service is attentive, and they even offer takeaway service for those who sleep in. Lunch and dinner are served at the second-floor restaurant, offering good food at reasonable prices. Additionally, ordering takeout to the hotel is very convenient. There's a swimming pool with standard lanes on the basement floor, but during the summer, it gets quite crowded and a bit chaotic with many children learning to swim. There's a self-service laundry on the first floor of the hotel. The room provides unlimited drinking water, an iron, and buckwheat pillows, but there's no refrigerator, which is a bit inconvenient. We stayed in a suite, and while it had two bathrooms, only the master bedroom's bathroom had a shower and a bathtub. One minor complaint: the bathroom faucet splashes quite a bit if you turn the water on too strong. As for the service, we later upgraded to a room on the ninth floor for a few days. A special thanks to the cleaning lady; she was incredibly nice. The engineering department also provided us with assistance. In summary, this is an excellent choice for a holiday retreat: three meals a day, walks in the park, and convenient taxi access for exploring the city and shopping. It's truly the best option."
