"Staying at Ji Xia Shan for four days and three nights in Datong was an absolute delight, a truly pleasant surprise! It was my first experience with the Ji Xia Shan brand, and I'm already looking forward to visiting Meili! We stayed in the Dieyin Courtyard room, which had a small private courtyard. Each tree in the room and throughout the hotel had a tag identifying its species – such a cute little detail. The room's snacks and fruits were refreshed daily, and the nightly sweet soups were never repeated. The first night was bird's nest soup, the second was corn soup, and the third was brown sugar peach gum. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with small portions allowing us to sample many dishes, which was great for avoiding waste. For our anniversary, the hotel specially decorated our room and even gifted us a delicious, freshly made cake. We felt a bit bad that we couldn't finish it all and caused some waste. The hotel's overall design creates a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility. It feels full of positive energy, with its water features and swaying tree shadows exuding vitality and spirit. The staff are all young, well-groomed, and professional ladies and gentlemen. They are warm, generous, and their service is natural and friendly, which was very endearing. Stepping out of the hotel, the view is expansive, directly facing the eastern city wall. Downstairs are Dongnanyi and the hotel's own Yungang Art Museum. During our trip, we caught the 'Pine Under the Mountain' exhibition and learned that the brand's founder is actually from Shanxi. Datong itself is a fantastic city. Besides its numerous ancient buildings that are a feast for the eyes, it has a rich, comfortable, and natural local atmosphere. 😌"

"The hotel was new and the rooms were clean, but the service was terrible! We arrived at the front desk at night, and there were three or four staff members standing there laughing and joking. After I showed my ID, they told me that someone had already checked me in?! It turned out that after a long discussion, they realized it was because a man with the same name as me had booked the same room type, and they gave him the room I had booked in advance (I had noted that I didn't want the last room and wanted it away from the elevator)?! Such a big hotel?! Don't they even check the information when registering guests? The phone numbers are different, and the genders are different too?! While I was standing at the front desk late at night waiting for them to resolve the issue, the receptionist kept yelling about what to do about the man's booking?! Where was I supposed to stand?! She didn't even apologize, and she was yelling at me about the wrong booking!! Am I supposed to fix her problem? Is this how you train your staff for such a big hotel? And this is supposed to be number one on the luxury list? Is this the level of service you're providing? Don't tell me it's because there are too many guests during the Chinese New Year. If you're so busy during the holidays, how could you make a mistake checking guest information? After making me stand for at least ten minutes, they finally gave me a room. They even gave me a last-minute room near the elevator! When I saw this, I called the front desk, and they said, ”Oh, all the rooms you booked are last-minute rooms?” Why didn't you write on the booking page that all City View Suites are last-minute rooms? It felt like the staff didn't know what they were doing; the service was completely disproportionate to the hotel's quality! Oh, and by the way, the laundry room was closed during the New Year period, and they didn't mention this at all when I messaged customer service during booking. 😃 The score is for cleanliness and hotel infrastructure; service is zero."

"I saw a lot of people complaining that Datong hotels couldn't keep up with the service, so I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, I found the service to be excellent. There was a genuine, rustic desire to be good to tourists, sometimes a bit overzealous and awkward, but incredibly sincere and charming. Overall, my stay was fantastic, and it offered great value for money. The little details in the room were well done. Toiletries were provided at both the sink and in the shower. Important tips and services were clearly written and prominently displayed in the room. This is the first hotel I've seen that even offers to change to a firmer mattress! The fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily were so fresh that I felt bad for not eating them and ended up forcing myself to eat two pieces of fruit. You absolutely *must* try the pear soup the hotel delivers in the evenings. On the first night, I was a bit skeptical, thinking, 'Who drinks something so sweet late at night? Why pear soup?' But on the second morning, when I got a nosebleed, I immediately understood... I promptly asked for a bottle and chugged it down; the effect was instant. The hotel's large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a great view, with the ancient city and Drum Tower visible right opposite. If I had to point out any areas for improvement, it would be the lack of a small shelf near the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom, so there's nowhere to put your phone, which is a bit inconvenient. Also, the air conditioning was very noisy and seemed to stop cooling in the middle of the night. It got to the point where I'd wake up in the late hours and have to turn it off because it was just making noise, which was quite annoying."

"Datong Yungang Hotel Review I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but Datong Yungang Hotel consistently ranks at the top for me. It truly lives up to its reputation as the best in the area. The overall decor is grand and stylish, with spacious and luxurious interiors that strike a perfect balance between opulence and elegance, without being over-the-top. The pricing is very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. The service is thoughtful and meticulous. The staff are responsive and attentive, making the entire experience comfortable. Room cleanliness is impeccable; every corner and all the linens are spotless and tidy. The breakfast buffet offers a vast selection, including a wide array of meats, vegetables, pastries, desserts, and local specialties, all of which taste great. The location is a major plus, less than two kilometers from Datong Ancient City, making it very convenient for exploring the area. Considering the comprehensive quality of its facilities, service, price, and location, it's definitely worth a second visit. This is my top recommendation for accommodation when visiting Datong!"

"This hotel is grand and truly high-end. The location is excellent, with a large, free parking lot in both the front and back, so parking is never an issue. It's convenient for getting anywhere, with a bus stop right outside the entrance. When I booked on Trip.com, I used my Trip.com points to redeem the room fee, so for a good deal, I stayed in a standard room in Building B. The room facilities were also great, and from the north-facing room, you could see Datong Ancient City. The breakfast was quite good, with a rich variety. My standard room also came with a complimentary bathing pass for the hotel's bathhouse. That day, I walked over 21,000 steps exploring Datong, setting a new personal record for daily steps in recent years. After a full day of sightseeing, it was incredibly relaxing to soak in the hot bath for an hour at the bathhouse. The hotel itself is very, very spacious. Since it was a Sunday, I saw several wedding banquets being held at Jianguo Hotel, as well as birthday parties for children. My only regret was that my standard room in Building B didn't have a mini-fridge, so there was no place to store food I brought back from outside. All in all, it was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying at Datong Yungang Jianguo Hotel again if I have the chance."

"I forgot to leave a review before, but even though the facilities aren't top-notch, the environment was quite peaceful. I'm not sure if it was because I requested a quiet room when booking, but our three rooms were on a floor where there were indeed no noisy drunkards or unruly children. Being able to get a good rest makes it a decent hotel. Some hotels, despite having great facilities, have terrible management, which is pointless... Breakfast was average; the lamb offal soup was pretty good, but you can't expect too much from breakfast at this level of hotel. Both service and breakfast were pretty standard, and overall, it wasn't a rip-off."

"The hotel is new and the rooms are quite spacious. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. It's also very close to Fantawild, which was great for visiting with kids. The pool water was clean, and the kids had a lot of fun, though the water temperature was a bit too cold for little ones, making them shiver. The mini-bar was complimentary, and parking was convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong."

"Staying at Ruifeng Tower was definitely the best decision for our Datong trip! The hotel is located right in the heart of the ancient city, within walking distance of attractions like Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple, making it super convenient. The rooms have an antique charm, and when you open the window, you're greeted with the sight of traditional courtyards and intricate eaves. What truly delighted me were the books in the room. Reading them before bed, the glory of Pingcheng during the Northern Wei Dynasty and the prosperity of the Liao and Jin secondary capitals came alive on the pages, adding a wonderful cultural depth to our journey. The breakfast buffet was abundant, and the staff were warm and professional. Next time I'm in Datong, I'll definitely choose Ruifeng Tower again, to immerse myself in the unique charm of this ancient capital amidst its scholarly ambiance and historic beauty!"

"The location and service are great, but the room is a bit small and the soundproofing isn't very good. It's convenient for getting around, very close to the shopping mall and Datong Ancient City. The breakfast selection is abundant, with freshly shaved noodles, so overall I'm quite satisfied."

"Our stay was absolutely fantastic! From the airport pick-up, to checking in, and all the way to checking out, everything was smooth and pleasant. All the staff, from those handling the airport transfers, to the front desk, housekeeping, and other services, were incredibly warm and caring. You could really feel their genuine dedication to service and their passion for working at Nian Xia (Summer in the Southeast). The room itself was great too, with welcome fruits and all the amenities you could need. It's also super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. Plus, with your room key, you get free entry to the Nian Xia Art Museum, which features INART and Tiankai sculptures – absolutely amazing!"
