Overall, a great and affordable option for a private stay in Edinburgh. Highly recommended for budget travelers."

Convenient check-in: There is manual handling at the front desk during the day. The front desk staff is very welcoming. At breakfast, they will be replaced with traditional Scottish skirts.

Service: The boss typical British gentleman, sings every day, introduces Scotland. It can be seen that he really loves it here! This hotel has a history of two or three hundred years!

"I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water.
Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget.
The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi.
The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city.
Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations."

Allison House 17 is 1.5 mi south of Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station and the city center. The regular buses take about 10 minutes to reach the city center.
"It is about a 15-minute bus ride from the city center, so it may be inconvenient if you want to leave your luggage and go sightseeing.
There are multiple bus routes, so waiting times were not particularly inconvenient.
The hotel does not have a reception, and there is only one management staff member during the day, and after you are given your key at check-in, you are free to do as you please. I thought the hotel was suitable for a trip where you just want to stay.
The room was old, but the fabric was clean and the bed was not too soft, but comfortable to sleep on.
The shower door was not fitted to the correct size, so the shower water leaked into the toilet. We had to think about how to turn the shower so that it would not leak.
The surrounding area is a high-class, quiet residential area, and if you take a walk in the spring flowers bloom, you can enjoy the gardens of each house."
