Travis and ElishaWow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that.
She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met.
It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here.
Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed.
While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information.
The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate).
The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean.
Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever.

PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.

Poet Song is an amazing place!
Location: Very convenient. Short 10 minute Didi taxi ride (10rmb) to the ancient city. Or can take bus (2 RMB) 15mins. From Airport Didi 15 mins (20 RMB).
Room: The room is clean, with fast wifi, very cool aircon, smart lights and curtains. Has all the amenities you need: kettle, great hairdryer and each day will have basic room cleaning and you get new toiletries and bottled water.
Besides the comfort of the room, what makes this place really great are the staff. From the moment you arrive, they come out to greet you, take you into their cozy reception room and check you in while enjoying fruits and/or Xinjiang nut snacks. Not all staff spoke English but any translation app will do and they all are so willing to help. They gave very valuable advice of places to visit so ask them any questions! The owner can speak English and I'm sure you will get to meet him as he is very hands on and around everyday to make sure all his guests are taken care of and enjoying their stay. He is a great guy and I believe is the real reason what makes this hotel so good!
When I come back to Kashi/Kashgar, no hesitation I will definitely stay at this hotel. Highly recommend!!!
Oh there are also three adorable cats!

I have stayed in folk houses and hotels. Friends who come from outside recommend this hotel which is close to the airport. In addition to free airport pick-up and drop-off, it also provides breakfast and is close to Green City (where there is a food court, clean and quiet, better than Khan Bazar). A fare to the ancient city is no more than 20 yuan. The hotel is clean, tidy and comfortable. It is a good place to stay for a stroll during the day and to rest in peace. Thank you very much! I like it very much. Next time I come to Kashgar, I will choose this hotel for the whole trip!

This hotel is great! It’s in a great area. The staff are friendly and provide awesome service! They even offered to do my laundry for me free of charge even though the laundry facility is set up as a 24 hour self service facility. I really appreciated that because I was busy on the day I checked in and would’ve had to do my laundry late at night if they were not willing to do this. I stayed here for one night and did not have any clean clothes for the next day.
The rooms are clean. I booked a non smoking room and was provided me without any issues. The room was also on a non smoking floor. The public areas of the hotel that I was in did not smell like cigarette smoke like many of them do in China. I have stayed at many hotels in China and even though I have booked non smoking rooms online for all of the hotels I stayed at, I did not receive one many times as those hotels didn’t have any, which I was not happy with.
The only recommendation I have for this hotel is to prohibit smoking entirely and strongly enforce it with consequences for guests if they haven’t done so yet. This would include all of their guest rooms. This would improve the overall guest experience, especially for non smokers. This is becoming more common in the hotel industry and would make the hotel more attractive to book than hotels in the area that allow smoking.

Guest UserThe location of the hotel is easy to find and it's very new.
It feels very unique as soon as you enter the lobby. There is a lobby bar where you can drink coffee or sit and work. Even computers are provided, which is very convenient.
The room is very clean and tidy, and disposable supplies are fully equipped. The hair dryer is very useful, it’s from Leifen. The toiletries are all in large bottles and are Italian niche brands. They smell very good. The shampoo is my favorite. The dense bubbles make it very comfortable to clean.
The room is also very large in size and very cost-effective. The staff are very friendly and say hello.
The hotel is 6 kilometers away from the ancient city. It is very close and convenient for eating. There are also special Xinjiang dishes in the surrounding area. The key point is that it is very close to the place where you can apply for a border permit, and it takes about 10 minutes.
Rich breakfast choices and high value for money👍

Guest UserThe room was exactly as pictured, and the upgraded room type was even more spacious. It had a smart toilet, and the shower pressure was great with plenty of hot water. Even though the window faced the street, it wasn't noisy at all. After more than ten days of traveling in Xinjiang, I had long run out of my own lotion. Only three hotels on my trip provided lotion, so when I discovered this one did, I was genuinely thrilled! Finally, I could relieve the dryness and itchiness on my legs – huge praise for that! The front desk staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was quite good too. Plus, they offer airport pick-up and drop-off, which is super convenient. While a taxi to the airport isn't expensive, having this service just feels incredibly thoughtful.

Excellent service and a very clean, spacious room with comfortable bedding. The location is fantastic, right at the entrance of the ancient city. Popular spots like the century-old teahouse, Id Kah Mosque, Rainbow Alley, Buidai Alley, 'Grandpa's Grandpa's Father's Nang' (a famous naan shop), and Oil Painting Street are all just a stone's throw from Guilai Inn. There are plenty of local eateries downstairs, making dining very convenient. The owner is very welcoming, and the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. The night views are beautiful and captivating. Plus, there are bus stops nearby for easy access to the airport and train station. It was a pleasant trip and I highly recommend it; you definitely won't regret staying at this inn.

From the airport the taxi driver did not know location of JinJiang Inn. After showing him the address we drove on Turman Road but still couldnt find it. We rang the hotel and the taxi drive droped me off in the vicinity. I walked around for a while asking but few people knew the whereabouts. Finally i saw a small signage and turned into the courtyard and there was JinJiang Inn. Later I found out there is a huge sign at ther top of the building but for padestrian traffic its difficult to notice. So perhaps a more conspicouse signage will be helpful. Rooms are brand new and towels clean and replinished every day. The bathroom facilities were great. Breakfast , If you are not a Chinese Traveller i recommend save your money by not buying the breakfast selection as nothing there caters for foriengers. But if you are Chinese the selection is sumptious. Some slices of bread and jam would cater for western taste buds. Location is great. Kunlun Tower is walking distance and so is the Ancient city of Ashgar. The front desk receptionist are really helpful for someone like me who doesn't speak Mandarin. I enjoyed my stay with very little complains. For the price its a value for money accomodation.

Overall, quite a decent stay. You really can’t beat the location. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the main entrance to this side of old city. The balcony overlooks the main street and I loved sitting there and taking in the sounds and smells. The building itself is a bit older and it shows. The table in my room was a bit dirty and aged, and there was an ashtray which suggests smoking can be allowed in the room for prior guests, but thankfully there was no cigarette smell in my room. Unfortunately, there were a few setbacks. The bathroom shower did not drain well and after 5 minutes water would start flooding out of the shower room to the hallway. There are two washers in a lower room but they were both occupied with sheets that were just sitting there and had not been put through the wash cycle yet. It seemed like the hotel uses these as their main washer for their linens. When I was checking in, the front desk person seemed confused if I had a reservation but that’s about as much as I could figure out with the language barrier. My trip.com reservation said I have a late checkout of 4pm but they came to my room around 2:45pm and said I was supposed to check out at 2pm. Thankfully I had everything packed up and said I could leave at 3pm. No one came to my room to clean so my trashcan was full. You can hear everything on the street which wasn’t a big problem to me, sort of white noise drowned out by the second day. However, the second day there was a new group of tourists that arrived and spent a lot of time on the balcony (as they should) but their noise was very audible and quite annoying. You could also easily hear people going up and down the stairs and in adjacent rooms.

I had originally booked another hotel for my 10 day stay in Kashgar but my intrigue with the historical background that's behind the Seman Hotel made me switch hotels.
Admittedly I was a little disappointed upon my arrival when I realized the Rezen brand had decided to choose a modern approach with their recent renovations. But in the end it was fine; the hotel's rooms are very comfortable, in excellent state with outstanding beds, good sound isolation and very good amenities. The shower has a great pressure and the rooms are warm and refreshing in the cold winter.
The location is okay, walking distance to the old town, Uyghur restaurants and a mall.
The receptionists are outstanding and have a wonderful service mind. We had a small issue with housekeeping halfway our stay but the problem got resolved with exactly the kind of attitude you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
All in all for the low off season price we paid it was an outstanding value and a true pleasure to stay at the Rezen Seman Hotel in Kashgar. I would highly recommend this hotel and dont let the slightly shabby look of the outside of the hotel make you change your mind as from the inside the hotel is modern, clean, well decorated and comfortable.
Thank you all for a great stay during our 10 days in Kashgar.
