I can’t speak more highly of this gorgeous,lush, whimsical resort. Where do I even start? The luxury tent was fabulous- it was elegant, comfortable and aesthetically beautiful- you stayed in a tent that had hard wood floors, soft brown leather, wooden panels, windows that over look the outside green and a patio with a private pool. Everything is personalised for you, from the letters you find on your desk or on the bed, to the turn down service to the messages you recieve on your phone- you are treated like royalty. I don’t think he word no exists is in their dictionary- they try to accommodate your every need, my room with my private pool was overlooking a spot that wasn’t as private as I liked- when I asked they not only changed my room, they upgraded me and gave me a toom with an even bigger pool and created a partition to ensure it was to my liking. They change your towels twice a day, fill up your fruit platter in your room, give you a choice to have breakfast or lunch, and since it’s à la carte, they let me choose multiple dishes to try out very single day at no extra charge. If you have a chance to experience the river side BBQ- it’s imperative- the experience isn’t complete without it-It’s truly a night to remember, the entertainment, the food made by a chef who worked for the royal family, the Balinese dancing, the live band and a short movie talking about the history of Bali. The location of the resort overlooking the valley is mind blowing - one doesn’t need to go anywhere, just sit and absorb the beauty. The staff was the highlight- they’ve handpicked the kindest, warmest and most supportive people to work there and make your experience an absolute joy. A special thanks to Ari, Julia, Ekawati, Gede, Putu, Sonia and everyone else who made this trip unforgettable.

This 5 star hotel is really excellent. It’s located up the mountain in central Bali looking out over the forests and jungle towards Ubud. It’s cooler as a result and providing it’s not too cloudy (hotel can be in the clouds at 1200m elevation), you can see for many miles. This really makes the infinity pools spectacular.  Rooms are spacious, we had a villa with hot tub but also had a nice garden, and room is equipped with everything you might need including mosquito net over the bed. As you would expect, the service and restaurants are first class offering a selection of Balinese and western dishes. The hotel is also a working coffee plantation and this is apparent in many ways, from the morning tours (free) to the 4 types of coffee power included in the complimentary room tea & coffee set. It’s a beautiful hotel, pricy though and there’s not much in the local vicinity, but if you want luxury and a great experience in central Bali, it’s a good choice.

This was the most perfect hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were all friendly. I had dinner at the aperitif, a French course meal. It was called ”Mid Journey,” and it was a truly enjoyable meal, as if I was on a real trip. On my last day, I went to Ubud Monkey Forest, but it was so hot. I returned to the hotel, grabbed my luggage, took a shower, and headed to the airport. I was so grateful for the refreshing return. The private pools in each room were so nice that I didn't even need to use the public pool. I'll definitely be back next time!!

For a relaxing, romantic stay in Bali away from the tourist hot spots, the Sanak Retreat is the ideal place to stay. It is really exceptionally nice located in the middle of the rice terraces and the few bungalows blend harmoniously into the landscape. We felt right at home. The food is ok and not too expensive. The location invites to hiking and biking. The only downside to our stay was that we were there at the time of the rice harvest and the farmers in the immediate vicinity of the hotel burned the rice palm after the harvest. This has unfortunately stunk terrible and fouled entire stretches of land for days. Those who are sensitive to bad air should try to avoid the time of the rice harvest.

We chose this hotel for its infinity pool, but on the day of arrival, we found out it was closed due to heavy rain. We were, of course, disappointed and initially wanted to cancel our booking and get a refund. However, Trip.com informed us that the hotel refused the refund, even though the front desk staff at the hotel swore that Trip.com hadn't even sent them a refund request. It was already evening, and we were tired, so we decided to stay after all, and we didn't regret it one bit. We discovered there's a 'jacuzzi' area with two pools, one with warm water and one with cool water – it was incredibly relaxing in the evenings after walks. The breakfasts on the open-air terrace were amazing, and we also had dinner there. The first time, we were thrilled with the fish dishes, but the national dishes the second time were just okay. By the way, afternoon tea with desserts and snacks is also included in the price. As for the room, it was incredible – a huge bed, pristine linen, and a bathroom with a window overlooking the jungle – absolutely stunning! And the cherry on top was a complimentary one-hour massage for two at the spa as compensation for the non-working infinity pool (provided upon our request, of course). I'd love to come back here and stay longer.

Very good stay with a few things for management that would easily upgrade to full points: Positive: +Amazing gardens that can be walked through +Fantastic view from the restaurant +Clean facilities generally +Great pool +Excellent restaurant breakfast and dinner and team. +Special thanks to Ari and team at Sayumanis restaurant, broad choice for breakfast, great options for dinner including Bali/Indonesian, great service with a smile from everyone, a standout on the whole trip. For improvement: -Drinking water for the room should be free when tap water is unsafe. Charging 10k idr for additional bottles when more people are staying is below the level of this hotel. It heavily degrades the hospitality evident everywhere else. Ended up going to the nearby mart to pickup extra bottles. Should be an easy cheapish fix. -Tissues in the bathroom are extremely small and cheap, worse than a roadside stall and below the level of this hotel. Easy cheap fix. -Check bathrooms for smells from drainage. Quality check should be done and drop in some extra cleaning product in the drain if needed. Just a QA issue.

We had a large team and the space was perfectly spacious and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond when they joined my team in singing Happy Birthday—it was one of the most sincere and touching moments. Comfy vibe, amazing service. 10/10! Option 3: Detailed & Appreciative Use this if you want to emphasize the emotional impact. Title: A Truly Memorable Experience - Spacious, Comfy, and Heartwarming I'm so impressed. This spot is a hidden treasure, much more spacious and comfy than photos suggest, which was perfect for our honeymoon. The magic happened when my entire team arrived for a surprise birthday celebration. The staff didn't just accommodate it; they wholeheartedly joined in singing ”Happy Birthday.” Their kindness felt incredibly sincere and personal, not staged at all. It turned a great evening into an unforgettable one. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

A heavenly place, we got a room with a view of the lake and the volcano. There are fruit trees on the territory, such as mango, avocado, passion fruit and many others) there is also a pool with a hot spring, but for us it was not hot enough) the staff is always responsive, always ready to prompt and advise what and where to see) it is simply a magical place. I recommend it 100%

The whole room was really nice, with great mountain and sea views. The restaurant food wasn't great, but it was inexpensive. The most comfortable thing was lying on the big sofa on the balcony, looking at the sea. The hotel also provided welcome drinks, which were a local specialty. However, the environment was a bit too wild. My clothes were hanging in the bathroom, got blown to the floor, and were eaten by insects, leaving two big holes. Also, the small road leading to the hotel was a bit bumpy, although the hotel did offer a shuttle bus. There weren't many special restaurants on the street outside the hotel, but there were durian vendors, and I bought two good ones for 60k.

Gede was so nice and helpful. True MVP. He gave me suggestions and even a ride to somewhere too far to walk! Short walk to Dream Beach (with a good restaurant) and Devil’s Tear. About 20 minute walk to Mushroom Beach with more restaurants and a few ATMs along the way. You can rent a scooter from the hotel. The bungalows are rustic but really pleasant. The AC is strong and there’s a mosquito net for the bed so it’s not a problem that there are some gaps in the walls and door. I liked the open-air bathroom. The shower was nice. The pool is also great. Breakfast was eggs and toast, plus coffee/tea and juice. The outlets weren’t placed super conveniently at the floor if you like to charge your phone at night and see it in bed. The “safety box” thing in the room isn’t actually secure - you can open it with your finger. However, I always felt super safe and wasn’t worried about needing to use it.
