The boss, who speaks good english, picked me up from the Gubeikou station, we stopped to buy some snacks and water and then he took me to the start of Panlongshan trail. He told me directions to get to Jinshanling. Pretty straightforward, hard to go wrong, just follow the spraypaint and ribbons. After sunset I texted him and he picked me up at Jinshanling. Very delicious home cooked dishes, both dinner and breakfast, huge portions, cold beer!  The room was big, comfy and modern, great mattress and bedding. The bathroom was big and modern with different controls for a nice shower.  In the morning (4am) the boss arranged local transport to get to and from Jinshanling for sunrise. Don't miss it, the sun rising over an empty wall; hardly anyone around. The hotel is  just a 5 minutes drive from the ticket station. I wish i could give more stars. Great memories! The combination of Panlongshan and Jinshanling is like a 100 times better then Badaling. Very easy to organise with the train and overnight stay. And this is the best hotel to do it.

It was a hasty decision, but it was a pleasant surprise! Unlike many B&Bs and camping options, this is a hidden gem nestled in a valley, offering a sense of privacy. The entire site seamlessly blends in with the surrounding nature, creating a seamless experience. Speaking of which, a beachfront hotel has a private beach, and here, there's even a private forest! Enjoy the mountain freely, and both adults and children can find their own unique adventure! In just a few days, we enjoyed the convenience of climbing the mountain with our eyes open or closed. And there's a truly amazing barista! The accommodations were also very comfortable and clean! It was a great place to bring our kids! Looking forward to the early completion of the private hot spring courtyard!

Traveling solo, I chose The Landy Hotel, and it perfectly matched my aesthetic. The overall design features a simple, natural wood style with no excessive decoration. The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

The service awareness of the front desk staff is very, very good. The ability to empathize with the guests surprised me. I was not old and I could think in front of my thoughts every step. Due to the changeable weather in the May 1 grassland, it is recommended to stay one night and one night. On the road, I went out of Beijing... I chose the half tiger line, passing through Yunzhong Grassland, the first day of Beijing North Road, Qiansongba National Forest Park... Squirrel Inn accommodation, my understanding is in a typical vast grassland village, ten minutes to the food street of Datan Town, if you want to experience the feeling of the grassland pastoral area, I highly recommend the accommodation choice of Squirrel Inn, compared to living in the town, I prefer here... I booked this guesthouse with a 'let's see' attitude. It was pouring rain on the way there, and I almost turned back, but when I arrived, I was incredibly impressed! I brought my own stove to barbecue in the yard, and the guesthouse owner (brother) was super patient, helping us prepare everything, even starting the fire and teaching us some tricks. He was also mindful not to disturb us, leaving after he showed us what to do – truly enthusiastic and nice! Also, the guesthouse owner (sister) was fantastic. The next morning, she made us a huge breakfast spread. There was so much food that the two of us were stuffed, only managing to finish two plates. The timing of our visit was perfect. There were very few people in the courtyard, almost like having the whole place to ourselves, which made for an amazing experience! The weather was also very comfortable, neither too hot nor too cold, and walking along the path was incredibly refreshing. I'm planning to go back next time with friends and my dog, and also try the whole roasted lamb that was featured on CCTV2! 😍

We were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section. This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport). The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.

Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. This is my second time staying at this hotel, and the environment is as quiet and beautiful as ever. The facilities are complete, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the breakfast offers a rich and delicious variety. The staff are also incredibly warm and attentive. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, and you can even spot many cute little animals. I'll most likely be back to stay again~!

Location is unbeatable!! The hotel is right before the entrance gate to the Jinshanling Great Wall cable car station and trail heads. You can actually hike up to good view points on the Great Wall injust 30-40 minutes. The hotel is in good condition. The room is mostly clean and well maintained. The AC works well. Toilet has a weird smell but didn't bother me that much. Wish they provided conditioner (only shampoo and shower gel were in the bathroom). Restaurant has many options for Chinese dishes and so is the buffet breakfast. If I come back, definitely book it again for the excellent location.
