"Must-Stay: Mandarin Oriental Barcelona 🏦 – The Real-Life Spanish 'Money Heist' Bank! 🏨 Located on Barcelona's famous Passeig de Gràcia, this hotel is right next to Gaudí's stunning Casa Batlló with its magnificent facade. Housed in an elegant mid-20th-century building, it was re-imagined by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, boasting a thoroughly modern interior that still retains the distinctive Mandarin Oriental charm. .🏦 Formerly a bank, it incorporates many elements from its past. For instance, a wall in the Banker's Bar was once part of the bank, serving as a safe deposit box area. Even more unique, their menus are presented in metal boxes like banknotes, giving it a real 'Money Heist' vibe, Barcelona style! It also doubles as a lounge for early arrivals, where you can even enjoy breakfast if it's already open. Because it was once a bank, all rooms offer a sense of security, privacy, and tranquility. Even facing the street, it becomes incredibly quiet after dark. The restaurant, lounge, and bar are all contemporary spaces, reflecting the city's artistic spirit and attitude. An absolutely superb check-in experience and service quality."

"What first surprised me about this hotel was how incredibly friendly it is towards Chinese tourists. There was even a Chinese New Year greeting card and fruit on the room table. The front desk staff wished us a Happy New Year too! The moment we walked in, a wave of happiness just washed over us. The hotel lobby is incredibly stylish, well-designed, and has a grand, trendy feel to it. I really loved the many thoughtful design details inside the room. The embroidery on the slippers was very intricate, as were the bathrobes, which featured many embroidered butterflies. The hotel also has a dedicated area in the room for makeup and hair drying, which I absolutely adored – and the mirror is an irregularly shaped design, very beautiful. Even the mineral water bottles were beautifully designed. This hotel just emanates happiness everywhere you look. The hotel environment fully meets five-star standards, but there are a few small details that could be improved. For example, the showerhead sprays water in a chaotic way and hasn't been fixed, and the water pressure is quite low, making showering a bit uncomfortable. Also, the hotel doesn't seem to have solutions for certain guest requests. For instance, I wanted to heat up some food I brought back from outside, and the hotel couldn't accommodate. I believe that for a five-star standard, they should consider and properly address customer needs."

"Polite and attentive staff, excellent breakfast with fresh, seasonal ingredients, a clean room, a spacious and comfortable bathroom, a good gym, a rooftop pool, and a nice sea view from the terrace."

"The hotel's cleanliness, ambiance, and facilities are all excellent, and the rooms are comfortable. However, what was extremely disappointing was the hotel's handling of late checkout. Although we were only about an hour and a half past the normal checkout time and were prepared to pay a fee, we were charged 95 Euros for an extension until only 2 PM. This price seems highly unreasonable, both in terms of the standard charge and the actual service received. What's even more regrettable is the hotel's lack of flexibility, especially given its high room rates and brand positioning. A 95 Euro charge for such a short extension felt more like an attempt to generate additional revenue. While the hotel's physical amenities are commendable, this experience severely impacted our overall stay and made us reconsider whether we would choose this hotel again in the future."

"Treated with a smile. Had 2 rooms side by side. Had a couple of problems but hotel sorted immediately so couldn't complain. Good varied breakfast. Internet in room with Internet casting off television which was ideal for kids.easy access via bus to all of surrounding area. Metro line down till August"

"Seriously, Chinese guests, book this hotel with caution! I booked a relatively more expensive room type, only to find out it was an end-of-hall room with a massive pillar right in the middle. Fine, whatever. But then I looked out the window, which offered a partial, obscured view of the hotel pool. It felt incredibly unsafe, like a creepy basement peeking situation. Despite closing the bathroom door tightly, water still leaked out when showering, flooding the floor around the sink. The soundproofing is terrible. It was a connecting room with a locked door leading to the next room, something not mentioned on the booking page. I could hear every word and game sound from the neighboring room crystal clear, which was very disruptive. I even asked the Trip.com customer service to negotiate a room change with the hotel front desk, but they refused. Later, I checked the reviews and found a negative one from a Chinese guest a few months ago, describing the exact same room type and issues we encountered 😂 I won't be coming back."

"Thank you for the excellent stay! The room was clean and comfortable, well-equipped, and the staff were polite and attentive. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting – truly recommendable. It's a pity that I accidentally left something behind when checking out, and although the hotel staff assisted in the search, it wasn't recovered. Despite this, I was deeply moved by the staff's patience, active communication, and proactive approach throughout the process. Their professionalism and sincerity demonstrated their care for guests, and their responsible spirit is truly admirable. Though the outcome was a bit disappointing, I genuinely felt their efforts. Thank you again for your thoughtful service. I will definitely choose this hotel again in the future and continue to recommend this warmth and reliability to my friends."

"The hotel service was excellent. As soon as I walked in, staff members helped me with my luggage and offered me water. Check-in was very quick. The room was bright and spacious, very clean inside, and the decor had a great feel to it. The en-suite bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. They even gave me two instant noodle cups as a welcome gift. The minibar had capsule coffee and more."

"An extraordinary experience at NH Collection Calderón Barcelona Our stay at the NH Collection Calderón was simply excellent from start to finish. From the moment we checked in, we were made to feel welcome, with warm, professional, and genuinely friendly service from the entire hotel team. The location is fantastic for exploring Barcelona on foot, and the facilities perfectly combine comfort, elegance, and the city's architectural charm. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and very well-maintained, allowing for a good rest after a full day exploring Barcelona. But what really made the difference were the people. The staff were always willing to help, answer questions, and offer assistance with a smile. On several occasions, we received attention that went far beyond what was expected, demonstrating a true commitment to their guests' experience. Once again, we confirmed something that always impresses us about Spain: the extraordinary culture of service and hospitality they have towards tourism. They make you feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. This natural way of looking after people turns a trip into a memorable experience. NH is a brand we hold dear to our hearts. Over the years, it has proven to be a reliable, consistent, and high-quality chain. When we stay at an NH, we feel at ease because we know we will find professionalism, comfort, and exceptional service. We would like to especially thank the entire team at NH Collection Calderón for contributing to such a pleasant trip. We will undoubtedly stay with you again on future visits to Barcelona and will continue to recommend NH to family and friends. Thank you very much for making us feel at home. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"A beautiful hotel in all aspects, but the rooms lack soundproofing, and noises from outside the room were somewhat disturbing."
