Must-Stay: Mandarin Oriental Barcelona 🏦 – The Real-Life Spanish 'Money Heist' Bank! 🏨 Located on Barcelona's famous Passeig de Gràcia, this hotel is right next to Gaudí's stunning Casa Batlló with its magnificent facade. Housed in an elegant mid-20th-century building, it was re-imagined by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, boasting a thoroughly modern interior that still retains the distinctive Mandarin Oriental charm. .🏦 Formerly a bank, it incorporates many elements from its past. For instance, a wall in the Banker's Bar was once part of the bank, serving as a safe deposit box area. Even more unique, their menus are presented in metal boxes like banknotes, giving it a real 'Money Heist' vibe, Barcelona style! It also doubles as a lounge for early arrivals, where you can even enjoy breakfast if it's already open. Because it was once a bank, all rooms offer a sense of security, privacy, and tranquility. Even facing the street, it becomes incredibly quiet after dark. The restaurant, lounge, and bar are all contemporary spaces, reflecting the city's artistic spirit and attitude. An absolutely superb check-in experience and service quality.

Excellent location, right across from Casa Batlló and within walking distance to Casa Milà. Great for shopping and dining. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the essentials. The pool was a bit small, and I didn't try the breakfast. No complaints really, other than the price...

Great location and highly recommend the breakfast. However, being in the old town, the room types are quite standard, and the rooftop pool wasn't open. Service was excellent, especially a shout-out to Danny from Chinese heritage.

Overall, it's pretty good.

The rooms are stylishly designed, the location is excellent, and it's connected to an art exhibition space. The public facilities are also quite good, and the breakfast is plentiful.

The room was rather small, and the window wasn't in a good position. The reason I felt it was just average is probably because others could get this room type for less money. As for the service, it wasn't as outstanding as typical Asian hotels. I had to manually pull out the door next to the Concierge room, and the Asian female staff member there didn't budge at all; this attention to detail was quite poor.

The location is great, but because it is close to the street, the sound of people on the road will penetrate into the room
