The hotel is located within 5 minutes of Yugawara Station. It is located in a suburban location and is mostly populated by local Japanese tourists. There are foreign employees who speak English at the front desk of the hotel, but since I can speak Japanese, it makes no difference to me. The package includes dinner on the day of check-in and breakfast on the next day. Dinner this time was eaten in the room, and breakfast was eaten on the third floor of the hotel. The meals for both days were very delicious and filling. We also added extra for each meal. One portion of long crab legs, very fresh and sweet. In terms of room configuration, there is a private bath in the room, which is more than enough for two people to soak in the spring water. The only drawback is that the bath has no windows and is not sealed, so mosquitoes and other small insects can fly in. People who are prone to mosquito bites need to be careful. The toilet in the room is separated from wet and dry areas. There is enough space for two people to brush their teeth together. There is a hairdryer and hair straighteners in the toilet, which are gifts for ladies. Overall, it's a very good experience. Don't be put off by the old appearance of the hotel. The interior decoration is very new, and some rooms have only been recently renovated. If you pass near Atami, you can choose to stay in this hotel.

The seaview room could watch the sunrise from the balcony. I turned my alarm just to watch the sun rised from the ocean. The buffet dinner and breakfast was great. Dinner buffet provided Italian wine which was very great. The breakfast we could customize the sashimi rice bowl which was wonderful. Although the dining area was a bit crowded but the space was fine enough.

The hotel's meticulous attention to detail is truly impressive: hidden TVs, smart home controls throughout, and a private, temperature-controlled, auto-filling hot spring tub on the balcony are all incredibly practical. The mattresses and bedding are from premium brands, and even the restaurant uses WMF cutlery. These details show that the hotel isn't just focused on appearances; it's genuinely committed to perfecting its offerings.
3️⃣ Hospitality and Experience
The overall operation demonstrates a sophisticated approach to hospitality. The hotel covers the taxi fare between the JR station and the hotel, and the mini-bar in the room is entirely complimentary. GGuest UserThis hotel is located right across from McDonald's at Atami Station, where you can catch their shuttle bus that runs every 40 minutes. While waiting for the bus, you can explore Nakamise-dori shopping street. The famous Atami pudding had a long line, but it was pretty good. If you're heading to Kinomiya Shrine, you can find the same pudding there without the wait. I was very happy with the sea-view room that had an open-air balcony. You can only use the Fuua Onsen once per person with your room key/passport, but the public bath is also great. Breakfast and dinner were a bit disappointing; despite the grand presentation, there wasn't much to eat, and the sashimi wasn't very fresh – on par with a 49.9RMB buffet in China.

When checking in, they proactively asked about our preferred dinner time to avoid long waits due to too many guests dining at once. Since our room didn't have a private bathroom, we used the public male and female onsen baths downstairs, which were well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. After dinner, you can reserve the karaoke or mahjong rooms at the front desk in advance and use them at your reserved time. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was quite delicious.

HhkhwlThis is a newly opened hotel, so all the facilities are brand new and very spacious. Not all staff members speak English, but they are all polite and friendly. The room is very large, and the private open-air bath combined with the sea view from the balcony was absolutely stunning and satisfying. The hotel also offers complimentary late-night ramen and drinks. If I ever get the chance to visit Atami again, I would definitely book this hotel.
The only downside is that the hotel doesn't offer a shuttle service. It takes about a 12-minute walk from Atami Station to the hotel. The hotel only has three shuttle buses to Atami Station each morning, and they don't have space for luggage. When we left, we took a taxi to Atami Castle, which cost about 900 yen.

GGuest UserOnly 9 minutes from Atami Station, no stairs all the way down the slope, check out there is a shuttle bus up the mountain. Guests staying can choose their preferred yukata style. Breakfast is a buffet form, dinner is more old-fashioned Japanese food package, the taste is quite satisfactory. The hotel has more Japanese guests than foreign guests, who may only have 3 or 4 groups. The rooms are spacious and offer tatami-laying services, the sea view is excellent. The day of the fireworks festival will also open the rooftop for guests to watch, the rooftop is completely unobstructed very clear!

Facilities: This is an older, established hotel, and the facilities feel even older than my parents, but they are very clean and functional. The hot springs felt just okay, mainly because the environment and facilities are quite dated, and the indoor bathhouse was a bit stuffy. The buffet, surprisingly, was excellent! The hotel is very close to the sea, but the sea view from the room doesn't give you that 'right on the beach' feeling of endless ocean.
The hotel provides a shuttle bus to the station. You need to queue up next to the front desk, and it's essential to go early as there are usually quite a few people waiting.
Environment: The corner view from the buffet restaurant is beautiful; I recommend going for your meal early. Enjoy the scenery of Atami town while eating when it's less crowded. The hotel isn't far from where the fireworks festival is held, and there's a kimono rental shop about a 6-minute walk from the hotel. However, you can also pick up yukata for free downstairs at the hotel itself.

KKunduSouravThis is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel. All instructions are in English however, means there are foreigners regularly staying here. There is a open air onsen (hot bath) which is very pleasant. Must be reserved in advance. Drinks can be bought at 200 yen a pop. This is a fully unmanned Ryokan meaning it self check in and self checkout ! The rooms are very small (4 meter square) which barely fits a bed. Pictures on the travel sites about the rooms in this hotel are deceiving ! The location is sort of OK from Kinomiya station but it's quite far from Atami city center and Atami sun beach . We took at taxi which was 1200 yen. Kinomiya Jinja is 25 minutes by foot.
