Amazing
IillfeAfter visiting the volcanoes and waterfalls, we took a break in Surabaya and stayed at this hotel. From the moment we walked in, we kept exclaiming how beautiful it was! Even though it's old, it has a beautiful historical charm and a great vibe. My husband said he wants to stay in hotels like this from now on – it was excellent. The location is also very convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to explore and find places to eat.

TTuomas YeStayed here for 2 nights for a business trip and overall it was quite okay. The location is alright, but just take note it is quite a bit of a walk if you want to go Tunjungan Plaza. Breakfast has a good selection of food, but it gets quite crowded unless you go down early to eat. I had some issues with the TV because it keeps freezing after a while, which was a bit annoying. Also, room service missed out some things because they didn't provide a floor mat and hand towel after they cleaned the room. But for a short business trip, everything else was fine and still acceptable.

WWzishanThe cleanliness of the duvet in the room needs improvement; there were several blood stains on it. I brought my own four-piece bedding set, originally thinking I wouldn't use it since I was only staying one night. However, my child found multiple dirty spots on the duvet, so I ended up using my own bedding set.

GGuest UserMy wife and I stayed 12 days all up the staff were amazing the resort was clean and had everything we needed there was a amazing choice of food and a gym that had enough equipment to keep the weight down and well priced.
On our next visit to Surabaya we will not hesitate to stay at the bumi resort highly recommended 👌

GGuest UserVery good hotel. The service and staff are some of the best i have seen so far. The taste of the food included in the breakfast is very good to. Rooms are clean and the housekeeping doesnt mess with your stuff when your not there.
The only stuff i can think of this hotel could improve on is stuff others mentioned before already:
Very loud traffic,some of the drivers think they are valentino rossi.. so some more soundproofing would be recommended. The airconditioning is ok in deluxe premiere and higher rooms,i booked a deluxe double wich ment me and my girl were being cooked alive but the staff upgraded our room to deluxe premiere for free wich was absolutely very nice of them. The water pressure is ok but could be a little higher. And the food despite tasting very good is being held warm on electri hotplates but they need to set these to a higher temperature for some of the food so that its still warm after it has left the kitchen.
Final verdict: 4.5 stars out of 5 and would recommend this hotel to others but as foreigner who struggles with indonesian temperatures i recommend you book a deluxe premiere or better room.

AAnonymous UserIt's a comfortable place for a transit stay, but this time I was perhaps unlucky. I got a room where the AC wasn't cooling properly, and the TV only just turned on, with a blurry picture and a very limited channel selection.

II live to travelHotel staff not so warm and friendly. Some do not understand basic english. I was left standing for no reason. Only when i asked what am i waiting for, someone “jumped” in and served me.
Room was ok. Comfy bed. I slept well. But towels are were old with frayed ends. Gross.
Location is less than 10 mins to Tunjungan Plaza, a popular mall. Traffic is mad so crossing the road is challenging. No bottled water but rooms have pitchers to fill up water from Dispensers outside rooms. Good initiative.

SSharon PSVarna Culture Hotel is located at strategic location closer to Tunjungan Plaza and many local eateries around. But I was given a room at smoking floor although when I booked I already requested for nonsmoking room. We have to inhale lots of 2nd hand smoke which was quite bad for our throat and causing us hard to breathe. The bathroom had given us lots of problems, after we took a shower, we realised the water cannot flow into the drainage hole and stayed floating next to the toilet bowl. The whole floor flooded as the floor design was a problem. When we complained to front desk staff, they already knew the problem but they cannot do anything. They only offered the housekeeper to mop away the water. Which the floor still wet. The water pressure is too low while we on the shower. The shower head positioned wrongly on wall and not flexible which caused the shower water to shoot directly to the opposite wall instead of to our body or face. It wet the whole towel rack and the toilet bowl behind us. Hence, we have to hold the shower head most of the time to ensure we can clean our body thoroughly. Breakfast served was average. The juices were quite plain and no fruit flavour. The overall food served was OK. No minibar in the hotel. We have to buy ice cube 5,000rp for a cup of 4pcs ice cudes.

LlydiaKamar agak pengab tapi bersih, kamar mandi besar dan bersih. Air panas tdk ada, air kadang kecil sendiri, ac dingin, kasurnya besar. Lokasi dkt dgn alun2 jadi cukup banyak yg jualan. Recomended klau tdk sering di dlm kamar krn tv g bisa di nyalakan
