"The hotel itself is very centrally located. The building exudes a historic charm that makes it special. The only downside: the bathrooms are in need of renovation. But the best thing is the staff. Everyone is very attentive. We had forgotten our passports in the hotel safe and were quite distressed. We contacted the hotel, and Kuma helped us immediately. He looked at the documents right away and offered to take everything to our next accommodation by taxi. The whole process was very professional. He even made a list of all the forgotten items and stayed in touch with us until we had everything back. We would like to thank Kuma again most sincerely."

We came here for one night with our newborn baby expecting a comfortable stay, but unfortunately it has been far from that. The bedsheets and pillow covers were dusty and not properly cleaned. After we complained, they replaced them. Later, while trying to relax with a coffee, we noticed the mugs were also very dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned properly for a long time. Again, we had to request replacements. To make things worse, the ceiling lights in the room were not working. A staff member came, checked, and simply said it might be a technical issue and left without fixing it. Overall, don’t fully trust the photos shown on websites. In reality, this is just an average hotel and definitely not a place where you feel your money was worth the stay."

"I am giving a good rating here, but also want to be very fair and objective. This hotel definitely does not deserve full points, but I was forced to leave a 5/5 review on Tripadvisor the day I checked out, which I had since deleted. While I understand that tourism is a big thing for Sri Lanka, this isn't the way to do business and it isn't fair if travellers get misinformed. Yes, the hotel is perched on a hill and is suitable for you if you prefer peace and quiet after a day in the city, but extended stays might get troublesome due to the winding, narrow hilly roads. There's an infinity pool with nature views but slippers are surely recommended because the changing room/bathroom is away from the pool. The room was also nice and comfy except that the air-con blew directly at the bed despite having adjusted the vane and fan speed. Definitely do not open the windows at night to prevent bugs from entering."

"The location of the hotel is fantastic, it has a great view over Kandy and a pool on the rooftoop. The room was big and spacy and the breakfast was really good. BUT. The service at the hotel need to take a step up. We ordered food to the room - 2 sandwich, some fries and a butter chicken. After 40 minutes, we godt the two sandwich, but it took another 35 min before we got the rest of the food. One night the hotel was throwing a big techno party at the rooftoop which lasted to at least 01.00 in the night - it made it impossible to sleep."

"I am Dr Ganaka Senaratne , consultant physician attached to National Hospital Galle and the President of Galle Medical Association , We selectee Mahaweli Reach as our destination for this years GMA Famiky trip . 170 people ( kids , teenagers , young adults , Middle aged , and senior people ) went there and spent 27 th night . Location was superb as it is right at the bank of beautiful Mahaweli River and easy access from the main road Atmosphere was ambient and pleasing with the greens garden and the big pool , it was very relaxing, perfectly suited our members . Rooms were big enough , and nicely arranged with wooden floor , members liked the texture of it , And the rooms weee user friendly and neatly arranged including a l Jacuzzi in the bathroom. It’s definitely worth for money we spent ? And we got a big discount as of this corporate booking Rooms and the entire hotel was very clean , I used to walk inside bear footed even . Mahaweli Reach had so many amnesties , beautiful pool , pool side tables , resting areas , lobbies s , Table tennis tables , bar , ect ….. Our kids , teenagers , Service has been exceptional and so heartiest . They understood our requirements very well and responded promptly . I must say that they were really emphatic and compassionate . We had so many activities planned to cater this 170 people with vastly different taste . Staff supported from the bottom their hearts so that all the things could be arranged promptly and swiftly . When asked from the Gruop all were happy about their stay at Mahaweli Reach All Have felt the warmth of care provided As the President of Galle Medical Association, I am so pleased and happy about the decision we took to stay in Mahaweli Reach as she gave every thing we would have wanted .I highly recommend Mahaweli Reach for any Gruop who travel to visit historic city of Kandy as of superb location , pleasing and relaxing environment, super fasilities and compassionate care we received ,"
