5-Star Hotels in Kandy

Cozy and very comfortable room with fantastic mountain view. It was so nice to have the pool right in front of our room. We could have a tea time with beautiful scenery at the terrace. Room was clean and equipped with necessities. The restaurant was also cozy and clean and food was so good. The staff at the restaurant was especially kind and professional. We will definitely come to this hotel again when we revisit Kandy. So much satisfied.

One of the most amazing properties i have stayed at. Both Bandhara and Madu, the butler and chef, were amazing. They were attentive, responsive and spot on..great work guys..very impressed. The property does full justice to the $. The location, the chants from the Buddhist temple in the valley create the utmost serene atmosphere. Every amenity is top end and every detail looked after. Will visit again for sure and will highly recommend..cheers

The villa-style hotel is located on the mountain. The room has its own swimming pool. The overall environment of the hotel is great! Especially the dinner in the restaurant is highly recommended, with 9 local Sri Lankan food, equipped with a dedicated chef and music performance, and the price is a little expensive.

The most expensive hotel in Sri Lanka, I was full of expectations, but was quite disappointed. First of all, there is a one-way road on the way up the mountain, and it is dangerous to reverse when there is a car passing by. The hotel has only six rooms, including breakfast and dinner, but the variety is too small, and it is a bit not full. Moreover, the dinner and breakfast are served very slowly. We were the only Chinese family that day, and we couldn't find anyone when we checked in, so we waited for a long time. The environment is very good, but it is too troublesome to go up and down the mountain, the service is average, and the hotel atmosphere is not very good. I don't recommend staying here.

🍃 On the hillside of Kandy Lake, it is located in the English courtyard halfway up the mountain. The environment is elegant and quiet, very suitable for vacation. 🍃 White yarn is lightly drooped, and there is greenery outside the window. The wind in the middle of the mountain passes through the gap, bringing coolness. In the morning, you can stroll in the small courtyard, overlooking the quiet Kandy Lake in the morning mist. The branches and leaves are light in the wind, and a good day is opened in this morning light...

Stunning hotel with a perfect view of the lake and Tooth Relic Temple. The staff are very welcoming and check-in experience was smooth. The room was very spacious and clean with good room service food. Recommend to sit by the infinity pool to try local arrack drink and freshly baked pizza while enjoying the good view.

The views are unbeatable: The lobby and pool face the Mahaweli River directly. Sitting by the river in the evening with a drink, watching the sunset, was absolutely the highlight of my entire Kandy trip. The pool is a definite plus: That infinity-edge pool stretching out to the river is incredibly photogenic, and the water is very clean, making for a wonderfully comfortable swim. Great dining: Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties and Western options. The freshly made omelets and Sri Lankan curries prepared by the chef were delicious. I even tried a local Sri Lankan delicacy, a fried egg 🍳, which was quite tasty.

Nice location. Beautiful view. Great service as well. Staff is nice. Breakfast spread is good - although many items were very salty. Same for dinner buffet. One issue - no lift. So people who cant take stairs are unable to go to bar above or spa below.

I absolutely loved this hotel! The location was great, and the views were nice. I only wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the peaceful atmosphere. My room was cozy and relaxing, and I especially loved the bathtub which was perfect for unwinding after a long day. The infinity pool was another highlight with gorgeous ocean views, though it was a bit on the cool side. I do wish it had been heated, but it was still a beautiful spot to relax. Room service was great too! Good selection and reasonably priced for a hotel. Cons: On my last day, I treated myself to a 90-minute aromatherapy massage at the spa. Unfortunately, I’d rate the spa a 5/10. Living in Thailand has definitely spoiled me with incredible massages, so I admit my standards are high! Still, I think the spa could use a bit of a refresh. The rooms smelled a bit old and weren’t very visually appealing. It was also quite cold during the body scrub and massage, which made it hard to fully relax. Breakfast was okay, but I wish there were more Western-style options available. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. Everything about the hotel itself was lovely, I’d just skip the spa next time!

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. It’s also right on Kandy Lake, so it’s a nice walk (and not too far from the Kandyan Culture Center and the Sacred Tooth Temple Meals were good, but service sometimes is a little messy. Buffet was missing things like tongs or a cloth over the tray handles (which were hot to touch), but there’s a lot of servers walking around so I’m sure they’ll be able to do double-checks on this
