"Great place. Super host! It was unexpected to meet someone with such perfect English in a Japanese village. He told us everything and showed us around! He was very polite and friendly. In the morning, he even drove us to the train station, for which we’re especially grateful. At this ryokan, you fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere, yet there’s also air conditioning. Another big plus is that they allow guests with tattoos. The hot spring offers a beautiful view! I highly recommend this place to everyone!"

"The sea view is amazing, and the room is very spacious. They provide everything you could possibly need, even makeup remover and facial cleanser. The hotel has a buffet, which costs about 350 RMB per person, but I opted to buy food from a nearby convenience store instead. Since the hotel is located on a hill, you can use DiDi International for rides. I walked to the convenience store, which was quite a long way, so I took a taxi back. The hotel also has a swimming pool and other amenities."

"Absolutely five stars!!! Excellent service and amazing pool side view. Both dinner and breakfast are perfect!! They provide shuttle buses but the timing is not good for me. It’s only around 10 minutes walk from nearest station. So the location is not a big problem for me."

"The room was clean and odor-free. Perhaps due to the hotel's age, the decor and fixtures might be a bit dated, but other than that, everything else was fine. You can choose your own brand of toiletries, but the room comes with basic toiletries if you choose. The staff were friendly and polite. Even though I arrived before 3:00 PM, they let me check in early.
The hotel is not far from JR Ito Station, and there are many restaurants and convenience stores along the way. For attractions like Mount Omuro, there's a direct bus from the JR station entrance, which takes about 45 minutes. The return bus also runs directly to the station entrance, making it very convenient. Atami is also about a half-hour ride away on the JR train. This hotel is a convenient stopover for both destinations. Since I only stayed for one day, I still had a lot to see. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time; it's a great value."

"The guesthouse itself is beautiful and very comfortable, located near Izu Kogen Station, not far from Mount Omuro and Jogasaki Coast. Most importantly, the owner is incredibly kind – a Chinese uncle! Chinese don't trick Chinese!
He picked us up from Izu Kogen Station, then drove us to Mount Omuro, and later picked us up from the Jogasaki Coast parking lot to take us back to the guesthouse. The uncle runs the whole guesthouse by himself, he's a one-man army!
The owner also puts a lot of effort into his cooking. We only booked breakfast, but if you're out and about until after 6 PM, you absolutely *must* book dinner at the guesthouse. Izu really closes down too early; we came back at 6:30 PM and couldn't find anywhere to eat! We eventually walked for ages and found a rural restaurant.
The guesthouse has shared bathrooms and toilets. There's a toilet on every floor, but only one shower room. However, there aren't many guests, so if you don't mind that, I highly recommend it!!
Also, Izu is truly beautiful!!! The next day, the owner dropped us off at the station, and we headed to Southern Izu to ride the Kinme Train. It was absolutely worth it!!!"

"My family and I stayed here for three nights, two in a modern Japanese-style room (和モダン「粋」-sui-和室) (breakfast included) and one in a Japanese-style room in the main building (和風ルーム (main building)).
My family loved the tatami rooms, so both were excellent experiences. The hotel breakfast is also highly recommended. The Japanese breakfast includes a small hot pot and freshly steamed rice in a clay pot, perfect for Chinese palates who love hot food. It offers a balanced selection of fish, meat, eggs, and dairy. One day, the hotel even had a Chinese-speaking staff member take care of our table, which was incredibly thoughtful.
We also highly recommend the hot springs. The large baths were wonderful, and they have the only drinkable hot spring water in Ito, which is good for your digestion.
I signed up for a membership during my stay and would love to stay here again!"

"The service was excellent. On our first night, the air conditioning had some issues, and the receptionist made several trips to help us, but it still wasn't fixed. They eventually moved us to a room with good air conditioning. The view from the window was quite nice; it must be even more beautiful during cherry blossom season. The location is good, within walking distance of Ito Station, and there are convenience stores nearby. Taking a taxi from the station to the hotel should be free.
By the way, the hotel service was really great. After checking out and returning to collect our luggage, we realized we had left our phone in a taxi. We had to ask the hotel receptionist for help to retrieve it."

ZZaKa0909Although there were multiple communications with the hotel regarding dining arrangements due to an issue with the intermediary agent, the overall performance of the hotel was truly delightful. From the station pick-up to the front desk, and from the hot springs to breakfast and dinner, everything was professional and thoughtful. If you want to experience an authentic Japanese feel, this is undoubtedly the best choice in Ito. If I return to Ito, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

The facilities in the room are very complete, the decorations are very exquisite, the tatami is very clean, and the bed is soft and comfortable. Although the room does not have a bathroom, you can plan the time for bathing and taking a bath, which is still very comfortable. The bathroom is just opposite the room, with multiple stalls, which is quite convenient. The overnight dried fish for breakfast is very delicious. It is also fun to beat eggs by yourself and fry them with butter. It is very delicious. The public area of the hotel is fully equipped with supplies, free tea and coffee, and you can even play PS5. The boss is very enthusiastic and can send you to Omuro Mountain and Jogasaki Coast for free, which solves a big transportation problem. There are also Chinese waiters at the front desk, who are friendly to Chinese guests.

GGuest UserMy family booked a triple room, but the owner moved us to room 205, which has twin beds and a tatami mat. The room is spacious enough for 5-6 people. It also has a kitchen. Drinks are free in the lobby on the first floor, making it a pleasant place to sit and play games in the evening. From Izu Kogen Station to the hotel, you'll need to schedule a pick-up or take a taxi. The roads are narrow and uphill, making it difficult to lug luggage. The area is quiet, with a view of the sea.

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions.
The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families.
It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful.
When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹
In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

Just come and take photos of this hotel's scenery—it's breathtaking. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the station, but otherwise, it's excellent.

VVegan 美味しいI had a fantastic experience at Forest Glaming! The staff, including Mr. Terada & the cool dude with long hair, were not only incredibly friendly but also made an effort to communicate with me in English and encouraged my attempts at speaking Japanese. Despite missing the shuttle bus, Mr. Terada kindly came to pick me up. The resort is a serene haven, offering tranquility and the cleanest toilets I've ever encountered. ✨Being tented near the shower and toilet facilities was an added bonus. 😮💨The food was outstanding, especially the aged domestic beef 🍖 BBQ. The only disappointment was not having the chance to share the wonderful dinner with the staff. I totally recommend Forest Glaming to anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape with exceptional service and facilities. The staff's warmth and willingness to engage in different languages truly enhanced my stay. Fantabulous!!! 😍🥰

CcometdebrisI stayed at Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace for 5 nights booking though Trip.com. Be warned that problems may occur when booking through travel websites such as this one. I booked a standard room with no meals. What I did not know however, was that this reservation did not include any room cleaning services for the entire stay, no taking of garbage or towel replacement, no bed making, nothing at all. When I contacted the travel website to show my disappointment, they immediately contacted the hotel requesting a full refund. I did not expect a full refund for my entire stay. What I did expect, was for someone to acknowledge the fact that this important piece of information should have been indicated someone on the online reservation confirmation. Neither the travel site nor the hotel would acknowledge this.
The travel site replied with a response from the hotel, saying that I was a regular guest and knew about this “regulation”. It’s true, I have visited Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace on several occasions when housekeeping services were not included. However, this was clearly indicated on the reservation, and I stayed during the COVID STATE OF EMERGENCY, when it was standard practice for many hotels to exclude cleaning services. My recent stay was at the beginning of August, WHEN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID RESTRICTIONS HAD BEEN LIFTED. It is no longer standard practice to exclude cleaning services at hotels in Japan.
The hotel stated that I visited the front desk every day to get towels and never mentioned the need to clean the room. This is untrue. I only came to the front dest 2 times during my stay, and this is because room cleaning staff entered my room on 2 occasions, so I was expecting them to clean or take out the trash, but they did nothing and left. I expected them to return, however, they never did. The bottom line is the hotel is responsible for communicating their services to customers, especially after covid restrictions have been lifted. Blaming guests for their lack of communication is completely unprofessional.
Now in regards to the hotel itself, I have stayed here on several occasions, I find it to be perfect, mainly because of the location and modest room size. The hotel is conveniently located near Lake Ippeki (Ippekiko) and there is plenty of nature and a few trails in the area. You can step out the door and be on a simple hiking trail within minutes. It’s a very quiet area and very good for children and families. Though the hotel is dated, the rooms are all quite large and include a living room, kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes (but no forks or spoons), a large bath, and both Western and Japanese style bedrooms. Some may be discouraged by the age of the hotel (it’s quite old and could use some renovation), but if you don’t mind that, then I would highly recommend staying here. One point that I need to mention is in regards to the bedrooms. The hotel has replaced their blackout curtains with super thin curtains which allow sunlight to easily shine through. We were woken up at 5:00 am every morning because of the bright sunlight in our room. If you’re a light sleeper, please take note. I wish management would consider this. Also, it’s highly recommended that guests come by car, public transportation is very inconvenient in the area.
Overall, Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace is a very convenient place for a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, but hope that they act with a little more professionalism and consider the fact that the covid state of emergency ended long ago.

GGuest UserBeautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus.
Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

MMic890The staff here are very helpful and polite, they even helped me to contact the next hotel for clarification. Only I recommend them to build a store room around the parking lot so that the huge size of the luggage can be left there for overseas traveller and no need to bring up to the hotel by walking the long stairs, if any. Also, they can provide a simple map in the website to locate their exact hotel location and nearby shops, cafe and supermarket, train station, etc. For me, I had a great experience spent in this hotel. If you like to see sunrise, it also a good place to stay in ocean view room. If you like running, you can run along the hill side with wonderful ocean view.

WWongThe location is ideal, close to the beach, parking spaces can be arranged, there are large shopping stores nearby, and the hotel retains the advanced equipment that has been used for many months, which is a bit surprised.
