"Really enjoyed my stay at Kameya Rakan! From the beginning, staff at check-in were very pleasant. The staff that attended to us also spoke really good English! There was also a microwave, some brochures/maps with discount codes for attractions (e.g. Mt Omuro chairlift). Parking was plenty and free, located behind the accommodation. There is a sign that says Kameya Rakan Parking. Room was tatami style, and we chose the seaview room which was really nice. They were also very kind to prepare iced water for us in the room which I have never encountered before. Would definitely come back to stay again!"

"It’s a very charming place with a real wabi-sabi atmosphere - simple, quiet, and full of nostalgic beauty. Quite old-fashioned, but well maintained. This spot became popular on a Russian platform, so there are many tourists from Russia ( me as well) . When I visited the onsen, there were seven people in total - all Russian girls. Overall, it doesn’t stop you from having a great rest. However, it’s not really suitable for a honeymoon, as my husband and I were separated the whole time — there are no mixed onsens for men and women, probably because the place is now mostly visited by foreigners. When we checked out, they kindly drove us back to the station. I left with a complete sense of relaxation. Thank you!"

"Very nice hotel. The room is pretty large with one table and one desk in it. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The staff are very friendly. I will definitely recommend the hotel to my friends, and we’ll stay again if I visit Ito next time."

"I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved the Hachiman-no Wayo-shiki room type at KIRA-NO-SATO! Upon reaching the floor of our room, we had to take off our shoes and put them in a shoe cabinet, then walk barefoot to the room. If you're heading to the public bathhouse or just exploring the hotel, you can wear the geta (wooden clogs) provided by the shoe cabinet. The floors were incredibly clean; walking barefoot was very comfortable and not dirty at all. The room itself was spotless and spacious, not feeling old-fashioned in the slightest. In fact, it looked quite new. The shower room's design reminded me of a sauna, but it was very comfortable and clean. We didn't use the public bath. Instead, we showered in our room each time before grabbing the key for a private onsen. The 'Stone Craftsman' bath, made of stone, was a bit small; it felt a little cramped for two people. 'Bamboo Immortal' was made of wood (or perhaps bamboo, judging by the name?) and offered more space. 'Rock Seat' was more like a small swimming pool, the largest of the three private onsens, very spacious for two, and had the best overhead cover. The hotel front desk offered complimentary drinks, including sodas, coffee, and tea. The public bath area provided milk and coffee milk in the mornings, and lactic acid drinks and ice cream in the evenings. The building next to the front desk offered various refreshments at different times, such as green tea, local sweet potatoes, soba noodles, and oden. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle bus service to Izu-Kogen Station, though it stops running after 5:30 PM. After that, you'd have to walk. The walk from the station to the hotel is uphill with a significant incline, which can be tiring if you have luggage or many bags. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and polite! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Izu~"

"The hotel's location is pretty good, about a 7-8 minute drive from Izu-Kogen Station, and it's a fairly typical villa-style hotel. It has three floors in total: two above ground and one below. It seems like it recently reopened after some partial adjustments and renovations. Overall, the cleanliness is good, though there were a few spots on the walls and floors that weren't perfectly clean. The drain in the women's hot spring bath wasn't draining very well, which I hope they can improve, but the hot spring water itself was excellent. In terms of service, I especially appreciate the hotel's shuttle service; it's really convenient for guests. The room has a kettle, which is very handy for Chinese guests, and some delicious tea. The service was very thoughtful. It would be even better if they could offer dining services in the future. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

"Highly recommended! This place completely fulfilled my expectations of a traditional Japanese ryokan from movies and anime. Tatami mats, sliding doors, a tea table – it had it all, and the room was very clean and quite spacious. I loved the designated spot for shoes right at the entrance. The lobby on the first floor is beautiful and perfect for photos. Upstairs, there's a communal onsen (with both indoor and outdoor baths) and a rock bath, with separate times for men and women. The area isn't huge, but with fewer people this season, it was very relaxing. On the second floor, there's a common area where you can enjoy tea, chat, do some light exercise, or read manga. My only awkward moment was not realizing there was no breakfast; I waited in my room for half an hour, which made me rush later. I didn't get to visit Mount Omuro this time (the cable car was out of service), but if I'm ever in Ito again, I'll definitely stay here."

"The room is large, with a separate wet and dry toilet and bathroom. The hot spring bath is open-air, and mosquito coils are thoughtfully provided. You can also lie on a lounge chair next to it and watch the stars and listen to the sound of the waves. The hotel's breakfast is delicious and highly recommended. The hotel is very close to the beach, only a three-minute walk away. I recommend taking a walk after a hearty breakfast."

"We arrived at Izu Kogen Station outside of dining hours, but had pre-arranged a pick-up service. True to their word, the owner was waiting for us right outside the station. After we got into the car, they gave us some great tips for sightseeing in the area, which saved us a lot of time. The next day, after breakfast, the owner drove us to the entrance of Mount Omuro, saving us even more time. On our departure day, to ensure we made our 9 AM return train, the owner prepared breakfast earlier than usual and then dropped us off at the station. Breakfast offered both Chinese and Western options, both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, offering great value for money. In the evening, we tried the Xi'an Biangbiang noodles prepared by the owner, which many people recommended, and they were indeed excellent. The accommodation was clean and tidy, and the restaurant was bright and comfortable."

"We ( 7 of us ) booked 4 rooms in end of March, staying in Laforet for 3 nights because it has private onsen in the hotel room. Very clean ( typical japanese cleanliness), its huge ! You have both choices to stay in 2 super single bed or set your futons at the tatami lounge. Its super comfortable. When we arrived to the hotel on a Wednesday and was hoping to have a meal at the hotel, the hotel front desk told us that we could NOT dine in the hotel as it is fully booked for whole month. We were very dissappointed, as we are paying hotel guests in the hotel and we are not allowed to dine in the hotel?! so we have to go outside of the hotel and look for dinners for next 3 days. The town is very small and serene. So if you are looking to stay in a secluded non touristy place, this hotel definitely suitable."

"The hotel is located on a mountain golf course, making transportation difficult. The hotel offers a shuttle bus, but it's infrequent and difficult to catch. Therefore, you need to hike about 3 kilometers to get back to the hotel. Consider your stamina and the weight of your luggage if you're staying here. Those with limited stamina should be cautious. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, with only one bathing pool; it's hardly a hot springs hotel. Because it's located on a mountain, we recommend booking a room with dinner included. Dinner is a banquet menu with only two options, which change every two days. Drinks are extra and subject to tax, making them expensive. The hotel staff struggle with English and will need translation software or Japanese. The rooms are spacious, with windows that open wide, and on a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji."
