"Safe and clean, air-conditioning new and can let your room cool down nicely. Only issue would be soundproofing - some days there is loud music from the pub downstairs... sea view was much appreciated and roof terrace gave a good view with shelter from the sun if needed. No hotel restaurant but cafes in close proximity."

"First off, the hotel environment is simply stunning. Facing the sea, the gradient blue is absolutely gorgeous! We booked a sea-view room, and the one we got was fantastic, also facing the ocean. We booked an island hopping tour through a travel agency, and it turned out the boarding pier was right next to the hotel, just a 10-minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient. A great feature of this hotel is the public shower rooms with hot water. Even after checking out, you can still use them after returning from your island tour. A special thanks to the hotel manager. I misplaced a valuable item due to my own oversight, and the manager patiently reviewed the surveillance footage the entire time, eventually helping me find it. This really shows how reliable the hotel's security is. Vehicle checks for entry and exit are quite strict, and sometimes the security guards at the main gate even check if passengers have the hotel's wristbands."

Hotel near Makadi Bay,Hurghada
Experience a premier Red Sea retreat at Prima Life Makadi Hotel, an all-inclusive resort featuring an exclusive private beach. Situated just 30 Minutes from Hurghada International Airport, the property offers guestrooms equipped with private balconies or terraces and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy diverse recreational facilities, including seven swimming pools with heated options for both adults and children, exciting waterslides, a modern fitness center, and a full-service spa. Dining options include a main buffet restaurant and four specialized à la carte restaurants, along with nine bars and 24-hour room service. Supported by a 24-hour reception, our dedicated team ensures a seamless and professional stay for every guest.

"The hotel is located in Makadi Bay, about 30 kilometers from Hurghada city center. Prima Life in Makadi Bay seems to be one of the hotels with the highest occupancy, almost always fully booked. During our two-day stay, we were the only four Chinese guests; everyone else was European or American. The hotel is quite large and has its own beach where you can swim and snorkel. The room was very clean, and the bed sheets weren't pilling, but the facilities are a bit old. The bathroom drain was very slow and would get clogged during peak water usage in the evening, but showering outside of peak hours was fine. The hotel has four restaurants, but only the main restaurant was open every day. The food selection was rich and tasty; the roasted camel meat was particularly delicious. The beach bar also served freshly baked pizza from a wood-fired oven every afternoon and offered daily specialty cocktails. The service at the front desk, restaurant, and bar was good, with one exception: a waiter named Mohammed at the Oriental restaurant completely ignored us. When ordering, all the foreigners who arrived after us were served, but he didn't acknowledge the four of us. I tried to catch his eye several times, but he looked right through me. Eventually, I had to wave him down and directly ask him why he couldn't see me, and only then did he quickly serve our food. The Oriental restaurant was our only somewhat negative experience; everything else felt great. For an all-inclusive hotel costing just over 1,000, it offers excellent value for money. Overall, I highly recommend it."

"The staff here is amazing! They are super friendly and they work hard. The place is insanely clean. The beds are amazing, probably the best bed I ever slept in. We didn't really like the wine. Sometimes at night we were a little bit hungry, but there was no snack at night. It would have been nice if there was a little something to eat, like some prepacked snacks. In short, I can really recommend this place!"

Hotel near Villages Road,Hurghada
Discover the charm of the Red Sea at Mercure Hurghada Hotel, a 4-star resort featuring 469 elegant rooms across six clusters. Set along a 700-meter private sandy beach with vibrant coral reefs, the resort offers a 1,800 sqm pool, diving center, water sports, tennis courts, fitness center, kids' club, and dining venues. Just 10 minutes from the airport, it provides all-inclusive comfort, 24-hour service, and Wi-Fi in public areas and selected rooms for a seamless stay.

"I recently stayed at Mercure Hotel, and overall I had a really good experience. The food was alright—definitely better than what I’ve had in all-inclusive hotels in Turkey or Tunisia. There was a wide variety of dishes, including lots of tasty options, cakes, tea, coffee (which was actually good), cocktails, and decent beer. The service was excellent. The staff were very polite and always willing to help—you can ask them anything and they’ll do their best. A special mention goes to Ahmed, the kitchen chef, who is an incredibly kind person. He really stood out, and I’d give an extra star just for him. The resort overall is not as busy as many other places in the area, which I really liked. It’s a smaller hotel compared to others nearby, with a simple, nice look—white buildings with brown windows, just like in the photos. It’s not a big aqua park-style resort, but honestly that was a plus for me, as I could relax without too many kids around. The beach is nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing. There are comfortable beds with shades/umbrellas around, so you can always find a good spot. The hotel has three swimming pools—the one next to the main restaurant is very large and usually empty, as most people stay at the smaller pool or by the beach. The sea water was a bit cold for my preference, but it’s beautifully clear and very clean. Many people really enjoy it, especially for snorkeling—there are amazing snorkeling spots right next to the resort. Rooms are cleaned every day, and you get two bottles of water per room daily, which is a nice touch. There are also plenty of activities: you can play tennis (though they only have one set of rackets), mini golf is included in the stay, and there’s a gym which is usually empty. There are snacks available by the pools and the beach, and a bar in the main restaurant. Outside the hotel, taxis are easy to find either at the lobby or on the street. Just make sure to agree on the price beforehand, or use the inDrive app—it’s usually cheaper than Uber or Careem, and you agree on the price upfront. There are a few shops nearby as well. If you need medication, it’s better to order from Self Care Pharmacy (you can find them on Facebook). For example, I ordered Antinal and rehydration salts with delivery for only 250 Egyptian pounds. They can deliver pretty much anything you need, and it’s much cheaper than buying inside the resort—definitely good to be prepared for emergencies. Overall, it’s a clean, more peaceful hotel with good service, plenty of food options, and lots to do. A great place to relax and enjoy the Red Sea."

"The sea view from this hotel is beautiful, and the property is quite large, giving it a real resort feel. There are about four or five restaurants, but the food is a bit monotonous and average. If you're not too picky about food and just want to sunbathe, enjoy the sea view, and swim in shallow waters, then it's a good choice. Regarding the discrimination everyone is concerned about, it definitely exists, and it's specifically targeted at Chinese guests. When dining at the Asian restaurant and another nearby one, there were several ****** waiters. They would serve white guests with a smile, proactively asking what juice they wanted, but completely ignore Chinese guests or pretend not to understand what juice they were asking for. It's not overt discrimination, but you can feel the subtle bias everywhere. From the moment I checked in at the front desk with my Chinese passport, it seemed the differential treatment began. I visited in early June during the off-season, and the hotel was noticeably empty and quiet. Yet, they insisted that buildings 3 and 4 were full and that only a ground-floor room was left in building 5. The front desk staff's attitude was also very poor. Only one gentleman during checkout and a lady named Riwan, who spoke excellent Chinese, treated Chinese guests well. It's not about tipping! Because most of the white guests I observed were 'poor whites' who didn't tip anyway – wealthy whites would be in Southern Italy, not here. Yet, the staff treated them much better. For Chinese guests, they would rudely shout 'China, China, nihao' and try to scam more money. Sigh, there were still some staff members who had good attitudes and didn't discriminate. There was also a bellboy who proactively smiled and helped me; I tipped him because I felt his service was well-deserved. In summary, that's my experience. Many Chinese tourists choose this place, roughly half of the total guests, paying the same price, but unfortunately not receiving equal treatment."

"The hotel is simple in a good way. The rooms are small but well designed so it is ok. The pool is huge and everybody is around not in which is even better for people who like to swim quietly. The beach is artificial but that is the way it is. The breakfast is outstanding, on of the best ever, and god knows how many breakfasts I have eaten in hotels. The a la carte menu that you can have at the pool bar or at your lounge chair is short but very tasty. Little deception with the buffet that we took at dinner on our arrival, but you have so many options to dine out as the hotel is located 50 meters from the ”center”, an open air food court with very good restaurants if you choose carefully. Last but not least, If you are into kiting and/or wing-foiling the hotel has an agreement with the Duotone Center located in Casa Cook's a sister hotel. It is a 15 minute ride by Tuk Tuk. In a nutshell we recommend."

"The hotel has improved since two years ago. The buildings are being renovated (the beach can be noisy during the day). For a small deposit in your passport upon check-in, you'll get a renovated room; rooms without renovations are quite dated. Room cleaning is almost nonexistent; if necessary, you need to clearly explain what exactly needs cleaning, change towels, etc. And give money, as always in Egypt. The food is varied and delicious now, juices are powdered, coffee is all instant, tea is only in black tea bags. I haven't tried any alcohol."

"The room was so spacious, I was a solo traveler, but the room was big enough for 4 people. The room had its own walk in closet, and the bathroom was great. Shower space was huge, also had a spot to sit/ lie down whilst showering. There was also a nice balcony overseeing the resort. The rooms were cleaned everyday, I had a guy named Sabary cleaning my room, who is a top bloke, extremely hard working, and he could speak 4 languages (Arabic, English, Russian and German). He tried his absolute best to keep the rooms clean, and to ensure you were enjoying yourself. The food was great, there was a huge variety, the aqua park and pools were awesome. Everything about this resort was just brilliant."

The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes. We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along. There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus). The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet). Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

We had a wonderful 7-day stay at this hotel at the end of February with our 4-year-old child, and overall, we were very satisfied with our vacation. The beach is excellent: there are plenty of sunbeds, and they are spaced far apart, so it never feels crowded. The sand is soft, and the entrance to the sea is gentle and comfortable, with very few shells. There are lifeguard towers along the beach, which adds a sense of safety. A large bar offers soft drinks, alcohol, and coffee, along with two smaller bars. There are changing cabins, and the sunbeds and umbrellas are sturdy and well-maintained. The beach staff are attentive and helpful—they assist with towels, clean sunglasses, and bring drinks. There is also beach entertainment, including yoga, bachata and zumba dancing, pétanque, and beach volleyball. Paddleboard rental and a gym are also available, which adds to the variety of activities. Breakfast was diverse and fresh. There are live cooking stations for omelets, pancakes, and waffles, as well as traditional Egyptian dishes prepared on the spot. We also enjoyed the honey station, two types of porridge, a wide selection of pastries and bread, including freshly baked flatbreads. There is a large variety of salads, vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, fish, sausages, and fruits such as kiwi, melon, apples, guava, and fruit salads. We tried massages from three different therapists, and all of them were very good. We definitely recommend taking time to enjoy the spa services. Music is thoughtfully integrated throughout the hotel. In the main restaurant, you can enjoy pleasant classical piano or jazz music. In the afternoon, the café with donuts features live performances such as guitar, saxophone, violin, or vocals. In the evening, there is a lively entertainment program with singing and dancing, and at night, there is a nightclub near the stage. The staff truly stand out—they are attentive, responsive, and always willing to help with any request. They are especially kind to children, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A special thanks to the manager for the exceptional care and professionalism. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, with a separate sleeping area and a cozy lounge space with a sofa and TV. The walk-in wardrobe is a big advantage, with plenty of hangers and storage space, as well as a safe. The bed, pillows, and blankets are very comfortable, ensuring great sleep quality. Housekeeping is excellent: the room was cleaned daily, towels (including beach towels) were changed every day, and bed linen was changed upon request. There are three à la carte restaurants—Asian, Italian, and Lebanese—which are a great way to diversify your evenings. Reservations are made in advance at the Viennese café. The service is efficient, the staff are attentive, and the food is delicious and authentic. The hotel is located in the Sahl Hasheesh area. About a 10-minute walk away is the main square, with a shopping street, cafés, and playgrounds nearby. We recommend visiting a charming artisan shop near the square—you can find unique souvenirs and take great photos. There were a few minor downsides: at the end of February, it can be quite windy. Although the air temperature was around 22–24°C and the sea 18–20°C, the wind made it chilly when getting out of the water, so bringing warm clothes is a good idea. The hotel does not have heated pools. Also, the kids’ club was not operating during our stay, and there was limited entertainment for children, with no evening kids’ disco. Despite these small issues, we had a fantastic and relaxing holiday and would happily return.

Sheraton Soma Bay Resort

The location and the beach at Sheraton Soma Bay are truly beautiful, and the welcome upon arrival was friendly and attentive. The property is well maintained, but overall it feels quite outdated and somewhat old-fashioned. Unfortunately, we experienced several service and organizational issues during our stay. At the beach bar, we ordered a milkshake but were served a juice instead without being asked — we were later told there was an issue with the ice. Instead of informing us, the staff simply replaced the drink without consultation. At dinner, incorrect dishes were brought to our table, and when we pointed it out, we were told the mistake was due to our ordering. One evening, a staff member pressured us to pay immediately and insisted on accompanying us to the reception to clarify the charge, even though we explained that we wanted to charge it to the room. At reception, we were told that charging to the room was perfectly fine. At check-out, we also discovered that one dinner had been charged twice. In addition, our room key stopped working several times on the day of departure — even though we had paid extra for a late check-out. The food and beverage offering is disappointing. The selection is very limited, especially for non-all-inclusive guests, with very few healthy options. The bar menus — both at the beach bar and the main bar — are closer to snack-bar level than to a hotel of this category. All-inclusive wine is served from cartons, and plastic water bottles are placed on the dinner tables. At breakfast, fresh juices often ran out quickly and were not refilled. The restaurant is frequently overcrowded, making it difficult to find a table. Compared to other hotels in Soma Bay, this property offers noticeably less atmosphere, entertainment, and overall quality. In Conclusion: Beautiful location and beach, but service, organization, and overall standards unfortunately do not meet expectations for a hotel in this category. There are clearly better alternatives in Soma Bay.

We stayed in Jaz hotel for 4 days in early April in a deluxe pool-view queen room. Positives: - The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, on the touristic promenade and quite close to the airport.  - The pools are great, the hotels has in total 6 pools and even though we sometimes had difficulty finding an empty spot to sit at the main pool, we could always find a spot on the other pools where the atmosphere was equally amazing and very relaxing. - The restaurant quality is top notch, one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had anywhere, with a big variety across the different days, along with a focus on egyptian food and seafood, which i appreciated. The restaurant’s head chef himself supervised the dinner serving and gave us daily recommendations. Negatives: - The staff is helpful but not as overtly friendly and willing to help as we had experienced in other hotels. Service can sometimes be quite slow. - The room furniture, even though it’s modern, looks a bit used and is not very well maintained. - The rooms are clean, but again not at the same level of cleanliness you would expect at this price level. - Internet speed is quite low (2-3 Mbps), so no streaming possible - There are daily nightly entertainment programs, however, they are not as varied or extensive as other hotels i had experienced. I got the impression that the hotel is more targeted towards older travelers who prefer the peace and quiet and don’t care about nightly activities, but it may be because of the time of the year I visited in. Overall, it was a good experience and the negatives I listed can be considered nitpicky, but honestly, at this price level, I would expect a flawless experience and I have had better experiences at this price level in Hurghada. The only clear positive for Jaz is the quality of the restaurant.

Our stay at Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Hurghada was absolutely fantastic! The overall environment is beautiful, with lush greenery, numerous pools, and relaxing areas everywhere, creating a wonderful vacation vibe. The room was clean, tidy, and quite spacious. The bedding was comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. Housekeeping was prompt every day, and the attention to detail was excellent. The dining experience was also a big plus. The buffet offered a wide variety of choices that changed daily, and the food tasted great, catering to different preferences. The hotel's water park is definitely a highlight, with plenty of facilities perfect for families with kids or friends looking to have fun. The private beach is another gem, with fine sand and beautiful clear water, making for great photo opportunities. Overall, the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and responsive, making us feel very comfortable. All in all, this is a highly recommended resort hotel with great value for money, perfect for relaxation and leisure. We would definitely come back if we have the chance! 👍

We had a disappointing experience using Uber while trying to go to Senzo Mall, which is actually very close to the hotel. The price shown in the app was 1 pound, but the driver asked for 5 pounds instead. This made us feel uncomfortable and sadly felt like we were being taken advantage of. Because of this, we decided not to proceed and instead booked a taxi directly through the hotel. Although the price was 4 pounds, it felt much safer, clearer, and more reliable. For other travelers, we would recommend using the hotel’s taxi service for peace of mind, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. As a small suggestion, it would be great if the hotel could consider providing a shuttle bus service for guests to travel around nearby places such as Senzo Mall, which would make getting around even more convenient and comfortable.

A magnificent location, in a pedestrian-accessible old town with shops and restaurants, near the island beach Zeytona, to which they take a boat or 10 min walk, there is a restaurant on this island with a bar. Great breakfasts. Excellent service everywhere, guys are very hard, not from under the stick but from the soul. The hotel is certainly softly saying ”weary”, it is necessary to renovate, but the staff and location will compensate for it))). I will be happy to come back.

Let’s start with that the team went above and beyond so that we have the best experience. We got a very clean and modern room but was on the ground floor. We asked for a room on a higher floor so they showed us different options but clarified that they weren’t renovated yet. The next day they moved us to a renovated room on a higher floor (the photos attached). The team’s response is quick. We had breadkfast and dinner included. The breakfast is a variety of cheese, turkey and chicked slices, baked goods, pancakes eggs, sausages, vegetables, fruits and drinks, etc. The dinner we had was mainly salads, rice, kufta (minced beef with spices, cooked potatoes, duck, baked goods, and deserts. Finally, the resort has access to the beach/sea, it is across the street though and a 10 min walk away.  Thanks for the team for making our experience and vacation as chill and relaxing as possible.
