"Had a lovely stay, the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We requested a room close to the elevator and they gave us a spacious one just as we asked. The location is fantastic, especially if you're visiting during the Christmas market season; everything is within walking distance. The only downsides were the weak internet connection, so it’s better to have your own data plan if you rely on being online, and bed sheets are only changed upon request. Overall, still a pleasant experience and would recommend for the location, helpful staff and lovely spacious rooms!"

"A basic single room near Cologne Cathedral, around 5 minutes walking distance from the Cologne Central Station. The check in process is easy (through their app), however, there's some issues with loading the page, so I ended up having to do it again at the front desk. The room is quite small, no proper table and chair for seating area, but has a small ensuite toilet. The heater is working well, as well as the hot shower water. There's no kettle provided in the hotel, and coffee with a fee at the G floor. There's elevator/lift in the hotel. This particular room doesn't have the cathedral view. It's a conveniently located hostel, so if you're on a budget trip, you may consider station here. They also provide luggage storage service before check-in & after check out."

It provides guests with little reminders that life is sometimes enriched and enlivened by taking an opposite view, opinion or side and that this can be refreshing.
"This was my second time in Cologne, and I chose this Marriott hotel again. The experience was indeed very good, and I slept comfortably. The breakfast was excellent – of course, it can't compare to hotels in China, but for Germany, it's above average. One thing to note is that the hotel requested a 25 Euro deposit upon check-in, which was not mentioned when I made the reservation. I was a little annoyed by that. Also, the hotel claims to have a gym, but in reality, there isn't one. When I asked the staff, they said the gym is still under construction… Maybe it will be ready by next year…"

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized, but what really made the experience special was the service. Berk was absolutely amazing — incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. He went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of, and his warm attitude truly made a difference during our stay. You can really feel that he cares about guests. Highly recommend this hotel, especially thanks to Berk’s outstanding service. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The tissue box wasn't refilled even after I told the staff and the front desk. There was a strong dusty smell when the elevator doors opened. The water from the kettle and the complimentary bottled water both tasted awful. The drinking water at breakfast was fine, though. If they're going to provide free water, it should at least be drinkable. It felt like the water needed filtering before use, it was just… indescribable otherwise. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. Other than those issues, everything else was okay. However, the invoice for a hotel booked through Trip.com could only be in RMB and couldn't be changed to Euros, which was really annoying. I hope Trip.com can improve this."

"the location of the hotel was great as it was so close to the christmas markets and city centre and train statio. the staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to provide us with whatever we needed. however, sometimes the cleanliness of the rooms were not as consistent, but this is not a big issue since we could call them up to rectify and they were willing to do so."

"I stayed alone, but unfortunately, I found what looked like a nail from a previous guest on one of the beds. The staff were very kind, but it seemed many guests were having trouble with the self-check-in, so they were swamped, and it took a while from check-in until I could get into my room. However, I was comfortable once I got into the room."

"The hotel is very close to the Cologne Exhibition Hall, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there. The receptionist is very friendly. The room is clean and sanitary, and there is plenty of hot water. Disadvantages: Breakfast is a bit expensive at 28 euros; the quilt is too thin and too short (but not cold). Summary: I will choose this place again when I attend the Cologne Exhibition next time."

"The Dorint hotel is in a very central location with wonderful views of the cathedral. The staff were very professional (from pre-trip communication to check-in and check-out) and super friendly. The hotel is huge and has lifts to all floors. The room was large with ample furniture (larger bed than usual, built-in suitcase stand, full desk, armchair) and the decor a palimpsest of older furniture zhuzhed up with wall coverings, a decorative vase, floor lights in addition to bedside table lamps and desk light, etc. There was even a kettle to make tea and coffee, and a fridge, which was much appreciated! The bed was on the soft side and the pillows rather thin and fluffy, which was not quite to my liking. However, the blackout curtains and well-insulated windows made for a quiet night's sleep, despite the roads and building sites outside. It was still possible to open one window to let fresh air in. All in all, a very good experience."

GGuest UserStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival. Pros: - Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport. - Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6). - Amazing bed. - Full-size working desk in the room. - Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly. - The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge. - The food was amazing. Cons: - The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day. - Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point). Overall: - Highly recommend, would stay again.

Small supermarkets and small eateries are nearby, making daily groceries and meals convenient. The room was of moderate size, spacious enough for a single occupancy but a bit cramped for a double. The furniture and furnishings showed some signs of use, but were generally clean and tidy, and the bedding was perfectly soft, ensuring a pleasant sleep. The bathroom had a nice, dry/wet area with a reliable hot water supply. The toiletries were basic, but those with skincare needs are advised to bring their own. Regarding service, the front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were both prompt and helpful. They patiently answered questions about directions to attractions, but they didn't proactively offer any extra touches (such as local recommendations or extended luggage storage). Breakfast is a simple buffet with basic items like bread, ham, eggs, coffee, and juice. GGuest UserWe were here for a city break, the area is up and coming with plenty of building work going on but not disruptive. It's next to the smaller train station but has direct access to the airport, the main arena is nearby as well as the conference center. Hotel itself was clean and well designed, we had a small kitchenette in the room which was a bonus.

It’s incredibly convenient if you’re traveling by train or planning to explore the old town on foot. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and major attractions in under 10 minutes. 💰 Excellent Value for Money For such a prime central location, the room rate was very affordable. It’s rare to find a hotel this close to the station and city center at such a low price. The room was basic but clean, and included breakfast, which made it an even better deal. 🛏️ Room Tips Rooms facing the street or train station might get a bit noisy, so I recommend asking for a quiet room facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper.

GGuest UserWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe. The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort. As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne. When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time. Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

GGuest UserThis hotel is very good. There's a supermarket across the street and the station is a 7-minute walk away, which is super convenient. It's a bit bigger and cleaner than the H+ room we stayed in before. The service is also good. The only regret is that the room doesn't come with water.

AAnonymous UserThe Good: - Location is right in the middle of everything and few steps from the Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Central Station. - Most of the staff were nice and helpful. The young lady (she had curly hair) and the Dutch man were amazing and friendly! - The room given to us was huge! It had a living room. - The price was affordable considering we went during peak holiday season with the Christmas markets open. The Bad: - We were on the 5th floor and the lift was only until the 4th floor. We had to carry our luggages up 2 flights of stairs to get to our room. Also the lift was tiny! It could only fit 2 persons or 1 person with luggage. - Heating was not working. When we arrived, we were wondering why we had 2 portable heaters (with 1 not working), we realised the radiators were not working! - The bathroom stank the whole room everytime we came in from outside. It seemed to come from the drainage. - The bathroom has a huge window (not frosted, no curtain) that makes you uncomfortable when showering! I had to turn the lights off at night so I wasn't visible from outside. And during the day, I had to crouch. - The shower cubicle was so tiny! I kept hitting the shower lever so the temperature kept changing while showering. I had to leave the glass door open so I can move. - The sofas in the living room had stains. - The king bed was actually 2 single bed beds placed side by side and I kept falling into the middle crack. - The mattress had a lump in the middle. It was uncomfortable. - There was 1 female staff (older lady), who was rude. We asked to collect our luggage we left after we checked out and she had this pissed off expression like we bothered her for asking. I had high expectations as I have stayed in Wyndham hotels before and this hotel was not up to par.

DDr.HeinkeI could forgive ten points for service. I would have chosen the hotel with the thermal to celebrate my birthday with my family there. We arrived too early but we were allowed to check in yet. We were very premature and friendly serviced in the restaurant and when they found my birthday is coming or even decorate a table extra. All in all was the food also very good the thermal was sensational. We had a wonderful time and thank you very much.
