Guest UserStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.

The room was nice and spacious. We went here in the winter and the heater worked well and it stayed pretty warm. It had everything we needed here and you can request things and services through there website (for free). The hotel also had a sauna and fitness to use for free. We only used the sauna and it was really relaxing. The only downside was that the location wasn’t that optimal for the places we wanted to visit.

This hotel in Cologne had a great location! While not right in the city center, it was still within walking distance and felt a bit quieter and more peaceful than being right in the hustle and bustle. We stayed during a heatwave, so the free lemon-infused iced water in the lobby was an absolute godsend. Plus, the rooftop view was amazing, with clear sights of famous landmarks!

Guest UserWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

The advantages are its good location, close to Rudolfplatz metro station, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The hotel breakfast is quite plentiful, the service is acceptable, and the cleanliness is decent, with clean bedding. The disadvantages, focusing on the key points: First, the room is small, probably around 10 square meters. The bathroom is only about 4.5 square meters, and the shower is also small. Besides two disposable paper cups in the bathroom, no other water cups or bottled water are provided. The room is on the second floor, and the elevator seems to have been added later, requiring a half-floor walk down stairs to exit. The room is generally clean, but the carpet is a major disappointment, looking like it could harbor dirt and grime. On the day of check-in, I found two very tiny ants on the desk and promptly killed them; those afraid of insects should be cautious. Also, due to a trade fair in Cologne during my stay, the room price almost doubled; avoid booking during trade fairs if you're going to Cologne.

Struggled to get through to the hotel as the phone number on the app used to make booking was in correct. The hotel is easy to find and transport links from the airport I give a 10/10 plus connection to the city was super easy. Upon arrival, the service desk staff were pleasant and apologised. Finally checked in and the room was clean and well done. However, my room was facing the major road and extremely noisy during the entire stay as the road is a busy one.
Ordered a late dinner and disappointed with my under done beef patty, the bun it came with required an electric knife to get through. I did complain and an apology was given.
Now, the hotel room doors bang whenever they’re being closed and made my stay unbearable. Something definitely needs to be done as I was put off!! Before retiring to bed, I hung the notice to not be disturbed..alas! the following morning after breakfast I just wanted to have a quiet time but I was rudely interrupted, disturbed coupled with the loud doors as the cleaners went about their inspections 2 x in a space of 10 minutes.
I would have loved to stay here on future visits but it’s a NO!!
The breakfast was lovely, sauna and swimming pool facilities too. I did not use the gym. Otherwise it’s in a good safe location.

There are two ways to get back to the hotel. One way is to go from the train station, detour to the subway station, and then come up. This route is better as you avoid the sun and it's easier to push luggage. The other way is to exit the train station, walk past the Cologne Cathedral, cross the road, and reach the hotel. This takes about 7-8 minutes with luggage, so it's a bit further. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage upstairs, which I really appreciated. They also offer free coffee and water.

Guest UserVery friendly service, perfect location though noisy due to its proximity to the train station. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the furnishings were quite run-down: torn bed linen, windows that didn't close properly, a broken lamp, and a shattered lamp in the bathroom.

Maria FeelThe hotel is very conveniently located, 3-5 minutes from the central train station. The hotel itself has several buildings. Ours was in the building next door; you had to walk down the hallway, go outside, and then go back up to the 4th floor. There's no elevator. We had a bunk room for four with two double beds. The second room is in the attic. The room was moderately clean, a bit shabby. This is despite the hotel opening in 2026. Apparently, it was a different hotel or some kind of apartment before that.
The beds were very comfortable, the mattresses were excellent, the towels were new and clean. The nightstands were okay.
The kitchen only had a sink and cabinets with doors that had fallen off. There were no dishes or a kettle.
The bathroom door slammed into the coat stand when opened.
The view from the window was excellent, directly onto the church.
Overall, we're very grateful to this hotel, as it saved us. We accidentally ended up in Cologne during an international gaming festival at the end of August, and all the hotels were either fully booked or had exorbitant prices. This hotel was reasonably priced. Staying there for just one night was a real stroke of luck.
We hope the hotel team can work out the room's shortcomings and improve even more! Good luck!
