Guest User🌿 Great Emotional Value, Though Some Details Need Improvement
I recently stayed at La Mere Ancienne in Guiyang. Overall, it was a warm experience, but there were some ups and downs.
The Highlights:
The ”Emotional Value” here is excellent. The nine-grid breakfast was both beautiful and delicious, especially the authentic beef rice noodles. Since it wasn't crowded, the waiter spent a lot of time chatting with the elderly members of our family, sharing many interesting fun facts, which made them very happy. We also received a beautiful tie-dye silk scarf as a parting gift. Later on, the staff was patient enough to upgrade our room, and the Yao herbal bath was perfect for removing all our fatigue.
The Downsides:
However, the check-in process left something to be desired. Although the room features a private herbal bath, the staff didn't proactively offer or deliver the herbs until we asked. Additionally, we were told that the afternoon snacks were already sold out when we arrived.
Summary: While the initial service was a bit passive, the subsequent hospitality and the unique atmosphere made up for it. A solid choice, but I hope they can improve their proactiveness during check-in!

I randomly picked this B&B for my trip to Libo, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The overall design blends a warm, natural wood style with local Buyi batik features, creating an incredible atmosphere that's rich in ethnic charm without being over-the-top.
The room layout is incredibly clever. Wooden screens subtly separate the wash area from the sleeping area, providing both an open feel and a sense of privacy. The vanity is clean and spacious, and the independent glass shower stall ensures excellent wet-dry separation, with thoughtful non-slip flooring. The wardrobe is fully stocked with amenities: two soft bathrobes, two pairs of crocs in different colors, and all the small toiletries you could need – such attention to detail!
The bed is soft and tidy, with a bed runner and throw pillows featuring unique blue and white batik patterns. The wall art also has a distinct ethnic vibe, making you feel truly immersed in the local culture. The biggest surprise was the panoramic floor-to-ceiling window. Open it up, and you're greeted with views of green mountains and ancient village houses – a full view of lush forest. Sitting by the window at the small table and chairs, sipping tea and enjoying the scenery, is utterly therapeutic.
The entire place was impeccably clean. The wooden furniture was dust-free, and the bathroom was dry and odor-free; every corner was spotless. The overall decor is simple yet elegant, the facilities are comprehensive, and it's quiet and peaceful – perfect for a good rest after a day of exploring. The owner provided thoughtful and attentive service, and the value for money is excellent. This B&B is my top choice for accommodation in Libo, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The hotel service was absolutely fantastic, making us feel like royalty for two whole days! 😂 They provided transportation to and from the scenic spots daily, and we even got to enjoy a lovely foot bath in the evenings. Our room offered a stunning view of the Zhangjiang River, surrounded by lush greenery, which was incredibly refreshing. The complimentary BBQ was super fresh, and the beef noodles for breakfast were hands down the best we had throughout our entire Guizhou trip!
The only minor downside was the bathroom layout – it felt a bit cramped, and the doors for the shower and toilet were awkwardly close. Also, the sink drained a bit slowly. However, these small issues didn't detract from the overall excellent experience. This guesthouse is highly recommended! 👍

We are two couples from the United States. We picked Yunshang Jianli Homestay because of its very high rating. After spending two nights there, we concur with their rating. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The homestay is very conveniently located. It is a short walk to the East Gate of the Xiaoqikong Scenic area as well as to the shuttle station to the Libo High Speed Train Station. The staff, from the manager to the housekeepers to the homestay restaurant’s cook, was friendly, helpful and personable. Speaking of the restaurant, we ate there both nights and each dish was excellent. We highly recommend the fish soup, which might have been the best fish soup we have ever had. Their high rating is well earned.

The hostel was very comfortable. I would choose to stay here again if I come to Libo next time. The owner is also very nice. The location is near Libo Old Town. There is bus No. 10 that goes directly to the high-speed rail station.

The location is fantastic, only a five-minute walk to the East Gate of Xiaoqikong Scenic Area in Libo. There are plenty of snack shops and restaurants near the East Gate, like Zhengxin Fried Chicken. Plus, you can grab free water at the front desk, and there's an elevator, so no need to haul your luggage up the stairs.

Keantan24Location wise is ok but it takes about 1hr for public transport to xiao qi Kong . The room was very big and.clean. And the bed was very comfortable. A/C and wifi working good.
My only complaint is that I report the TV issue to the receptionist, but nothing has been done.
Overall I would recommend this place as the price is good value.

wissy00I couldn't have asked for better. I was astonished by the service, cleanliness, friendliness, and treatment. All of this at an incredibly low price.
Communicating can be a bit complicated if you don't speak Chinese, as almost no one in this region speaks English. Fortunately, I had someone with me who could. The lovely lady treated us like her own grandchildren and insisted that we eat with her, letting us try typical local dishes. I truly felt at home.
As for the service itself, I was even more surprised. We stayed for two nights, and every day they cleaned the room, changed the towels, provided slippers, a new toothbrush, and a bottle of water. In the evening, she insisted on giving us fruit.
Regarding the location, it's very convenient, as it's just a 10-minute walk from the bus stop that takes you to the main attractions and also to the train station. As a foreign tourist, I highly recommend it!

Guest UserEnvironment: The overall decoration style is simple and elegant
Sanitation: Clean and tidy, smart toilet
Service: The boss will send a car to pick us up when going to and leaving the scenic area! And the boss helped us to check out late the next day because the itinerary was not arranged and we could not check out before 12 o'clock~ In short, it was a great accommodation experience

Guest UserWe stayed here for a few nights. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Check-in: Smooth and easy. We were greeted warmly, and upon arrival, our room was upgraded — a nice bonus.
Room: Clean, with good-quality bedding. The room had everything we needed: air conditioning, towels, toiletries, bottled water, and a projector. Housekeeping was done daily and wasn't intrusive — we could stay in the room if we wanted. When we arrived, the weather was cold outside, so we slept under two blankets — it was warm enough. Hot water was sufficient for two people as long as we didn't shower for too long.
Location: Very convenient — just a few minutes' walk to the East Gate of Xiaoqikong Scenic Area and the bus stop. Plenty of places to eat, grab a drink, and buy daily necessities are nearby.
Noise level: We slept really well — it was quiet and peaceful, with only birdsong in the morning. There was construction going on near the hotel during our stay, but it wasn't disruptive at all; no noise in the morning or evening.
Drawbacks:
· There was a strong smell of cigarettes in the room. If you're sensitive to smoke, it's worth asking for a non-smoking room when booking.
· Although the room was clean, it was clear that the hotel is a bit older — not brand new, but still well-maintained.
Overall, if you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly option with a great location for visiting Xiaoqikong, this is a solid choice. We were happy with our stay.
