Find Top Hostels in Kunming

Not really a youth hostel but someone's high rise flat filled with beds on 7th floor. Excellent location near to railway station but difficult to find on the map and you need to ring the owner who doesn't speak English. I've added the photo of the entrance doorway and amended map but you still need to ring the owner to get access. Cramped, only one bathroom for a lot of people, but kitchen with kettle and living area, good budget accommodation for a night, I wouldn't stay here longer.

I booked the Single room because I wanted to have a calm night but I also wanted to socialise that’s why I booked a hostel. First of all the receptionist was the cutest! She helped me with everything and was so kind. My room was big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. BUT the bed was really really really hard. You could feel the metal feather coming through. The receptionist gave me a few blankets to make the bed softer which helped. But if you are a sensitive sleeper I can’t recommend. In the end I slept better than expected. But keep in mind, it’s still a hostel. So, you will hear doors being shut regularly. If you are sensitive this will wake you up. The hostel itself is really cute and nice! The views are amazing. If you want to meet locals this is the perfect place. I didn’t meet any other foreign travelers here though. You can also wash and cook here. So all in all it’s a good and cheap hostel IF you are not a sensitive sleeper.

The inn is warm and unique, with complete facilities and clean and hygienic environment. You can enjoy tea and sunbathe in the courtyard; take a walk in the flower town to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are also restaurants and restaurants. It is very pleasant.

This hostel is really great and the boss is good. I highly recommend everyone especially foreigners to make contact with the boss prior to arriving so you don’t get lost like me🤣🤣. I called the boss via trip.com app, and he replied to me straight away. He is very good at responding and quickly helped me. The hostel is thoroughly cleaned and has a kitchen. The location is great. The boss also recommended me some places I can visit in Kunming.

Hotel is very far from Changshui Airport or considered far from Kunming Train station. This place is located near Dianci lake also located inside a tourist attraction place (ming zu). Room is nice and cosy. You can walk around or enter into attraction within 5 minutes of walking. Many restaurants nearby.

It was a bit difficult to find the place. The address takes you to the main road, but the entrance of the building is in the back street. Other than that, the room was good enough - the mattress is really hard, but it's not a problem for me. The view is gorgeous! They don’t have a western toilet, what is a very annoying thing, but I knew it before making my reservation, so I can't complain... and, well... it's China. The staff can't speak English, but they are really kind and patient so with the help of a translator everything was fine. Also, there's a washing machine you can use for a small fee and I saw many small improvements being done while I was there, what shows they really care about making it a nice place for the guests, as far as it's possible. Overall, for me it was a nice stay so I already have 2 future reservations to the same room.

Staying at this hotel was extremely convenient. The most important thing for a hotel is cleanliness, and this hotel is very tidy with incredibly affordable prices. The owner (the lady boss), along with her mother and son, were extremely kind—they helped with everything, provided pick-up and drop-off services, and made the trip very smooth. This was my first time staying at this hotel, and the owner treated me like family. I’m truly grateful! If I visit Kunming again, I’ll definitely stay here once more. 这家酒店住起来非常方便。对于一个酒店来说，最重要的是清洁卫生。这家酒店非常干净，而且价格也非常实惠。老板娘和她的家人（妈妈和儿子）都特别友善，事事都热心帮忙解答，还提供接送服务，让整个旅程非常顺利。这是我第一次住这家酒店，老板娘待我像家人一样，非常感谢！下次再来昆明的话，我一定还会选择住这里。

It was the perfect place for me. In the middle of the city, close to so much, it was super convenient. The fact that it was cheap was great and all I needed was a bed and bathroom. It was a little hard to find, being on the 13th floor of the east building but nothing too bad. Very much would recommend, feels like a more local experience. Perfect for budget solo travellers especially.

Upon entering, I found a piece of paper on the bed, which made me feel like the room wasn't thoroughly checked during cleaning. There was also no hairdryer in the room, which was very inconvenient after a shower. The abundance of power outlets everywhere in the room was the only thing I was really satisfied with. Regarding the check-in process for minors, I'm not sure if I should call it responsible or not. On the one hand, they made our group take photos because we had a minor with us, which seems responsible. On the other hand, they didn't register the child's information during check-in, which seems less responsible. A staff member led us to the room upstairs, but he seemed a bit 'rough around the edges' and not very enthusiastic, especially compared to the friendly person who handled our check-in.

Location was great that it was a walk away from the Kunming Railway Station where I needed to be to leave the city. I liked how it was near a lot of food places! The volunteer Evens was an interesting person to talk to when I learned about his background in what he does as an occupation and where he is originally from in China. The owner Winni was a nice person as well and I appreciated and enjoy her and some of the other guests that cooked for us the night that we had a big dinner. Thank you for being part of the chef crew Winni. Everybody who stayed at the place was respectful and considered towards one another in the way that they conducted themselves. Was able to go along with the rules of this hostel because it fit my daily habits. Nobody had any habits that bothered me. Not really into the hostel type of stays, due to lack of privacy. Was just happy to stay at this place since it was pretty much right at the doorstep of the Kunming Railway station where I can catch my train on time where I wouldn't end up getting lost in the city which in turn would end up missing it. The only negative thing that I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have bath towels and just regular hand towels where I would not be able to dry myself very well after showering. Because of this I didn't want to take a shower at this place and the fact that these towels were used repeatedly from other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable wanting to use it. Would come back to this Hostel again if I happen to have to come back to Kunming again where I needed to be near this train station to catch at train there.
