Find Top Hostels in Kunming

Not really a youth hostel but someone's high rise flat filled with beds on 7th floor. Excellent location near to railway station but difficult to find on the map and you need to ring the owner who doesn't speak English. I've added the photo of the entrance doorway and amended map but you still need to ring the owner to get access. Cramped, only one bathroom for a lot of people, but kitchen with kettle and living area, good budget accommodation for a night, I wouldn't stay here longer.

😊I watched the young lady change the sheets and quilt covers for every bed that checked out. It was so hard! The sheets and quilt covers are made of pure cotton, white and odorless, and the price-performance ratio is very good. You can check in with confidence. Hygiene and safety are very important when you are away from home. The young lady will also remind me to lock the door at night and pay attention to safety. When I need help, the young lady is also enthusiastic and quick-hearted, which makes me feel very warm! What else can I complain about at this price. I am very lucky to be able to stay in this hotel. I am very happy to meet such an easy-going young lady. After the end of this trip, my heart is still warm when I think about it. I wish Miss Mei Ni good health, good luck, prosperous business, and good people in the new year. 🌹

I booked the Single room because I wanted to have a calm night but I also wanted to socialise that’s why I booked a hostel. First of all the receptionist was the cutest! She helped me with everything and was so kind. My room was big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. BUT the bed was really really really hard. You could feel the metal feather coming through. The receptionist gave me a few blankets to make the bed softer which helped. But if you are a sensitive sleeper I can’t recommend. In the end I slept better than expected. But keep in mind, it’s still a hostel. So, you will hear doors being shut regularly. If you are sensitive this will wake you up. The hostel itself is really cute and nice! The views are amazing. If you want to meet locals this is the perfect place. I didn’t meet any other foreign travelers here though. You can also wash and cook here. So all in all it’s a good and cheap hostel IF you are not a sensitive sleeper.

We had an amazing stay , Cookie is a wonderful host, very kind And pleasant, she speaks English too , she let us check in early and made all arrangements to make our stay comfortable, the rooms are big, well ventilated and opens to beautiful view of the lake. Rooms are well kept and hygienic. The location is ideal for exploring the ethnic village and other tourist attractions. We highly recommend this hotel, we would definitely stay here again.

Shuyun Youth Hostel (Kunming Railway Station Store) is a good choice for travelers looking for affordable accommodation near the train station, offering convenient access to various destinations in Kunming. Although it lacks luxurious amenities, it provides comfort and good value for the price.

The inn is warm and unique, with complete facilities and clean and hygienic environment. You can enjoy tea and sunbathe in the courtyard; take a walk in the flower town to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are also restaurants and restaurants. It is very pleasant.

It was a bit difficult to find the place. The address takes you to the main road, but the entrance of the building is in the back street. Other than that, the room was good enough - the mattress is really hard, but it's not a problem for me. The view is gorgeous! They don’t have a western toilet, what is a very annoying thing, but I knew it before making my reservation, so I can't complain... and, well... it's China. The staff can't speak English, but they are really kind and patient so with the help of a translator everything was fine. Also, there's a washing machine you can use for a small fee and I saw many small improvements being done while I was there, what shows they really care about making it a nice place for the guests, as far as it's possible. Overall, for me it was a nice stay so I already have 2 future reservations to the same room.

I chose this hotel for a layover at Kunming Airport. It's not far from the airport and offers a shuttle service, making it incredible value for money for a Kunming Airport transfer. Free airport shuttle service: Just contact the hotel anytime for a pick-up or drop-off, very convenient.

Overall pleasant if you are not planning for a high comfortable trip. It’s more like a backpacker with lowest needs. But the host is kind and helpful.

If you just waiting for train or would like to stay for a short period of time and didnt care about the toilet, you can stay here. The toilet is outside, for us its creepy to go to toilet at night due to dim light and we had to go all of us. Overall since we waiting for our train early in the morning, it really helps us in short of time since we can just walked.
