I did not want to leave. That is the most honest thing I can say about Xihe Academy. ”Guest house” is a label that does not prepare you for what this place actually is. If you are American and hearing that term for the first time, forget whatever image just came to mind. This is not a MIL suite tucked behind someone's garage. This is a fully realized, deeply considered experience wrapped inside one of the most stunning environments I have ever walked into. The courtyard alone stopped me mid-step. The surrounding area looks like an active film set -- you keep half-expecting to hear ”action” called from somewhere just off camera. And then you step inside and somehow it gets even better. I genuinely lost my words. The room is the kind of space where you realize someone has actually thought of everything. Included minibar. Fresh fruit and snacks. Loose-leaf tea so you can brew a proper cup. Bathrooms fully stocked down to the shower shoes. You can arrive with nothing but your clothes and be completely at ease. They have handled the rest. The staff made all of it feel personal. When a language barrier created a small miscommunication, they were patient and gracious without a flicker of frustration. When I joked that I had gone a little crazy shopping and could not close my suitcase, they immediately offered suggestions to help. That warmth is not a policy -- it lives in the people. They coordinate meals as well, and mine was delivered to my room and genuinely delicious. One thing I will say without hesitation: use their driver. This is a private, gated area and you cannot simply grab a random car or rideshare. Arrange your pickup from the train station or airport in advance -- it is seamless, affordable, and completely worth it. Do not skip this step. This was my first guesthouse experience, and Xihe Academy has set a bar I was not expecting to clear so soon. If you stay here, you will not regret it. Five stars is not enough.

For accommodation in Pingyao Ancient City, seriously, just book Chengfu JinYuan! It's a courtyard transformed from an old Jin merchant's mansion, full of ancient charm yet not outdated. The courtyard scenery is absolutely picturesque, offering tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle, guaranteeing a super peaceful night's sleep. The location is truly unbeatable – very close to the main street, making it easy to go out and explore, yet far enough from the noise when you return to the courtyard. The rooms are spotless, the bedding is soft, and the bathroom facilities are clean and functional, ensuring maximum comfort. I have to specifically praise the service; it was attentive and considerate throughout, without being intrusive. When guests were dining, they would proactively offer appropriate utensils and even brought warm millet porridge – these small details truly warmed my heart. They also provided travel routes for outings and offered pickup/drop-off services upon arrival. It's not overly commercialized, full of human warmth. Staying here in Pingyao is an absolute no-brainer; I'll definitely choose this place for my next trip! The beef noodles are incredibly delicious.

Staying at Lixia was absolutely the biggest surprise of my trip to Pingyao, exceeding all expectations – I wholeheartedly recommend it! The courtyard is an authentic Jin-style quadrangle (siheyuan), with blue bricks, wooden windows, and red lanterns creating a rich, antique atmosphere. It's serene and elegant, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling ancient city. Located right in the heart of the old town, it’s just a few minutes' walk to major attractions, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Finding such tranquility in a lively area, sitting on a lounge chair in the courtyard, sipping tea and relaxing – the experience was truly fulfilling. The butler team's service was genuinely impeccable. After booking, the butler proactively contacted me to arrange transfers. Whether it was the high-speed rail station or the bus station, there was a dedicated car service, and staff helped with luggage, making the whole process hassle-free. During my stay, they were highly responsive on WeChat, making every effort to fulfill any request. They also thoughtfully recommended sightseeing routes and local delicacies. Every small detail was considered, and their genuine warmth and hospitality truly made me feel at home. The hardware facilities perfectly blend ancient charm with modern comfort. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and the entire room featured smart controls. The bathroom facilities were comprehensive, leading to a very comfortable stay. The daily fresh breakfast used quality ingredients, with dishes changing daily, offering nutritious and delicious options – the pork rib soup, in particular, was incredibly fragrant and rich. VOSS mineral water was provided in the room, showing thoughtfulness in every detail. The ancient architecture preserves historical charm, while the interior hardware is top-notch, complemented by the meticulous service of the butler team. It’s perfect for both family vacations and trips with friends. My entire stay was a perfect 10, and if I ever return to Pingyao, I will unhesitatingly choose Lixia again!

We had a lovely stay here in Pingyao. The hotel was utmost welcoming and kind, starting with preliminary information, a free pick-up up from the train station, a suggested sightseeing tour route with the most relevant sights in the ancient city, and a restaurant recommendation. Beyond that, they served free light breakfast and helped us in every aspect we asked for. Highly recommend to stay in this property in this ancient location.

My mother and two aunts came to Shanxi for a trip before the May Day holiday, and their first stop was Pingyao Ancient City. When I started looking for a hotel for them, I immediately noticed Qianxiqing, which is very close to the North Gate of the ancient city. Its antique decor perfectly matches the characteristics of the ancient city. After browsing further, I found that the hotel facilities were very new and high-end, and they also offered services like station pick-up, so I decisively made a reservation. On the day of their arrival, I communicated with the owner in advance. The owner was kind, amiable, and meticulously provided me with an introduction, and understood the details needed for the pick-up. For the pick-up, the owner personally used a Mercedes-Benz van, which was quite a high-class touch! Upon arrival at the hotel, he patiently and thoroughly explained the hotel's features and provided information about some attractions in Pingyao Ancient City. He even contacted me after my mother and aunts went into the ancient city to inform them about some things to pay attention to while exploring. He was truly thoughtful. The next day when they checked out, the owner personally drove them to the North Gate. Even though it was a short stay of less than a day, it truly demonstrated the highly professional standards and warm, attentive service of this hotel, the owner, and their team. It made me feel incredibly reassured. The next time I bring my family to visit the ancient city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. Give me a good experience, and then Pingyao will live in his house! ! !

I stayed at the Tingbo Hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right at the entrance of the scenic area. You can step out and start exploring immediately, which is incredibly convenient. The room was spotless, so clean you could see your reflection, and the bed was super soft – I woke up feeling completely refreshed. The front desk staff were wonderful, always patiently answering my questions, truly thoughtful. I especially loved the hotel's decor style; it's very unique. Every corner is meticulously arranged and looks amazing in photos. Plus, the hotel service was excellent; it was such a pleasant stay. The value for money at this hotel is incredible. The price wasn't expensive, but the service and facilities were outstanding. It felt like a great deal. The hotel is clean, and its location near the north gate of the ancient city means you can walk everywhere, which is very convenient. I'll definitely come back next time.

The location is excellent. It's right in the center of Goseong, making it a great base for exploring the city. Starting from the center, you can easily explore all directions and then back to the center, making it a great location. It's my first time at Pingyao District Office, so it's a bit tricky to judge the hotel facilities. However, the room is modern and well-appointed. The bed was clean and the mattress was adequately comfortable. The bathroom has good hot water. While the cleanliness is a bit lacking, the kindness of the owner and staff makes up for it. Boss!!! I had a great stay and had a great time.

The owner was super helpful, answering all our questions and providing very detailed information. As soon as you walked in, you could see clothing racks and a makeup area. Lots of people were trying on headpieces and picking out clothes – it was really popular. Our room upstairs had two beds. The bathroom was quite clean and very well-organized, and it even came with disposable toiletries. When we opened the curtains, we had a view of the inner courtyard – it's actually a traditional two-section building. The view outside was simply beautiful! Staying in the ancient city was truly the right decision.
