To fulfill my long-held dream of visiting Daocheng Yading, I stayed two nights at the Shangri-La Tashi Dakgye Starry Sky Hotel. The hotel service was exceptionally attentive; every request was met with enthusiasm. Knowing I'd be tackling the high-altitude Five-Color Lake the next day, I asked the front desk for extra bottled water, and they happily provided it. The hotel's interior design is elegant, and the smart home features throughout are modern and comprehensive. My two-night stay was incredibly comfortable and pleasant.

The bed in our room was incredibly comfortable, and we had a direct view of the snow-capped mountains from our window. We booked a special offer room, and the price was truly amazing for the value. When we arrived in Daocheng, a lovely lady personally picked us up, helped with our bags, and took us to the hotel. She even offered us warm ginger tea. The next day, after our hike, we were greeted with a comforting bowl of chicken soup – that moment felt like pure salvation! The people in the village were also very friendly and would greet us proactively. The hotel's service was impeccable; they answered every question and paid attention to every detail. Highly recommend!

Excellent value for money with warm and thoughtful service. They guided us to parking upon arrival and helped with our luggage, which was a nice touch 😁. Highly recommended! The bedding was very comfortable, and the facilities were new and well-equipped. The late-night congee service was very considerate. After a long day of exploring the scenic area, they even provided foot baths and massage devices. It's very close to the scenic area, making it convenient for sightseeing. This hotel is right in the heart of Shangri-La Town, making it super convenient for food and drinks. Getting to the Daocheng Yading scenic area is also a breeze – a taxi is about 20-something yuan, or you can take the yellow tourist shuttle for 10 yuan per person. The hotel lobby offers complimentary Rhodiola tea. The room was clean and tidy, and I appreciated the disposable towels and bath towels. I saw some reviews mentioning poor soundproofing and noise at night, but honestly, it quieted down pretty much by 9:30 PM. Breakfast starts at 7 AM, though it would be even better if it started earlier.

The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the room was spacious. The owner upgraded our room on the first day and even provided free breakfast and shuttle service to the scenic spots. Overall, we had a great stay! Highly recommended!!!

The hotel was really great. There’s an elevator, so no need to worry about carrying luggage up the stairs. We arrived at ฺBus Stop 2 and the hotel staff came out to help us with our bags — plus we were warmly greeted by an adorable dog! We chose a triple room, and the space was comfortable and sufficient for everyone. Our room faced the front with a beautiful mountain view. The beds also had electric mattress warmers, which made our sleep very cozy. Breakfast was good, and the stir-fried vegetables were delicious. They also provide hiking poles that guests can borrow.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the town center, and it's only a ten-minute drive to the Yading scenic area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk service was thoughtful, even helping us with altitude sickness issues. The facilities are complete, making charging and laundry convenient. We felt incredibly safe and comfortable during our stay.

Xiaodong have been really helpful giving us suggestions and helping us on logistics. He went above and beyond trying to fix something for us upon knowing Yading Park was closed for a day due to sudden snow, unfortunately even the shorter route was not possible. As we took the bus from Shangri-La and wanted to go to Kangding by bus on return, this is the perfect spot as it's a few minutes walk from and to Yading bus station, and surrounded by several restaurants, convenient stores and souvenir shops. One thing to note is the signage of the hotel says 'First Hotel' so look out for this instead, though taxi drivers do know them by Chujian Art Hotel. I feel the hotel / rooms are a bit run down. There are rooms for the hotel to improve, like cleanliness as I noticed some stains on carpet floors and pillows. Some items are about to be broken/fall apart. Next to the sink, would be great to have a little shelf to put soap holder, and guests can place their personal toiletries. Adding a doormat in front of bathroom would be great as the tiles are slippery when wet. Do specify if you want your bed to be made as well: otherwise, the maid would just clean the trash and supply toiletries, water.
