Hotels with balcony in Daocheng County

The property is at the very top end in luxury mountain lodges and probably the best I have stayed at in China and offers an experience that exceeds Songtsam and others in this space. It has a stunning location closer to the mountains than the lodging in Yading village which is both good (lots of quiet , better views) and not so good (rides into the village are needed). The service is excellent and very attentive. The rooms are top notch and have an exquisite ******* design. There is even an outdoor pool for the summer season. While the prices are fair for what one gets it does perhaps mean lower occupancy (at least on our visit). After staying three nights did not hesitate to book another stay

The guesthouse I booked on Ctrip was fantastic! The navigation on Gaode Maps was very accurate. The guesthouse had a charming ******* feel, was very comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. The rooms and facilities were excellent. Upon arrival, we were given a welcome khata (traditional ******* scarf), butter tea, and tsampa. We could also enjoy our own homegrown fruit. The area is surrounded by ******* houses, and free-roaming cows and pigs roam around. There were also adorable deer in the guesthouse that were very affectionate. Parking was convenient in the yard. The food was delicious and inexpensive, offering excellent value for money. The guesthouse and garden were beautiful; it's truly a hidden gem! Pet-friendly, highly recommended!

The owner is very welcoming. If you're going to Daocheng, it's a good idea to contact them in advance. You can drop off your luggage at stop #1, and someone will transport it to the hotel. When you're heading back, it's just about a 100m walk from stop #2. The room has a rustic, wood-themed decor and comes with floor heating, plus free oxygen supply. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the shower has good water pressure with hot water. The room layout is comfortable, and the decor is quite new. When you open the curtains, you get a fantastic view of the snow-capped mountains – truly a top-notch experience in such a setting. Since there aren't many restaurants nearby, we just ordered food directly from the hotel, and guests get a 12% discount. The ingredients were very fresh, but it's tough to keep food piping hot in high-altitude areas, so there was a bit of a wait for our order, and it cooled down pretty quickly. Reheating it also took some time. 🥲

This was my second stay at the Howard Johnson within three days. This time, I came back to the hotel to rest for a day after hiking down from Yading Village. The room was upgraded for free again, and the in-room amenities were still excellent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and of good quality. However, there were a few hitches. First, let me state that I personally have no prejudice against ******* people, but the ******* housekeeping auntie at the hotel didn't speak good Mandarin. I couldn't understand what she was saying, and she couldn't understand me. During my first stay, the TV wasn't working, and the auntie came to help. After a long time of trying, she eventually suggested that I video call the engineering department directly. The issue during my second stay was that the hotel air conditioning had no heating. After calling to inquire, the same auntie came again, and it was still like talking to a brick wall. She said she would find someone, but there was no news for a long time. I had to call the front desk and found out that no feedback had been received. After all that back and forth, eventually, a front desk lady and an engineering guy came up to check. They said a valve was broken and needed to be replaced. I felt it was taking too long, so I discussed whether I could change rooms. The front desk agreed and quickly prepared a new room key. The front desk and engineering helped me move my luggage. However, in the new room, the air conditioning still had no heating. It turned out the main valve wasn't open. Firstly, I've stayed at many Howard Johnson hotels under the Great China umbrella elsewhere, and this is the first time I've encountered AC that only has either cooling or heating. Secondly, I hope the hotel can strengthen Mandarin training for its staff. After all, this is a tourist town, and there should be more Mandarin-speaking guests than Tibetan-speaking ones. Thirdly, when such problems arise, the duty manager or housekeeping manager should step in to resolve them, not the front desk and engineering staff. Finally, I'd like to thank and commend the front desk lady and the engineering guy who came up that evening to help resolve the issues and move my luggage. Both of them patiently and meticulously sought out the problem and actively worked to solve it. Especially the front desk lady, who maintained a cheerful and approachable demeanor throughout her service.

This was, without a doubt, the best hotel we stayed at during our trip! 😍 We arrived quite late after traveling from another city, and the hotel upgraded us to an Executive Suite from a King Room for free. Wow, we were so lucky! The room was clean and tidy, and it was soundproof, so we slept wonderfully. 👍 The service was exceptional. All guests staying at the hotel can get free self-heating rice meals made by the hotel's own chef. We took ours with us on the road to Daocheng the next day, and it was so much better than instant food – warm and thoughtful! 🫶 If you're coming to Daocheng, you absolutely have to stay at this hotel!

An amazing hotel in Aden Village, owned by China Travel, has 5 buildings, with its own Blue Moon Valley viewing restaurant. The hotel has complete hardware configuration, comfortable and spacious, underfloor heating and air conditioning, commendable service. There will be a special shuttle to the restaurant for meals, and there will be a special shuttle to the sightseeing station to go to the attractions. Brother is still working hard to pick up and drop off guests and luggage at 12:00 pm. The handover at the front desk is serious and meticulous, and will not be missed. The room has limited time oxygen supply, you can also pay a deposit at the front desk to rent a portable oxygen generator free of charge. I stayed two nights and highly recommend it! It's very close to the scenic area entrance, just a few minutes' walk (there's a shortcut up the stairs, you can ask the owner for directions), the surrounding area is very quiet, the facilities are complete, and you can even have a simple breakfast (it wasn't mentioned on the platform, but the owner kindly told me). It's great value for money! And the whole family at the guesthouse was incredibly kind!! They helped me a lot, it was so touching~ I wish the owner great success and the kind grandmother there good health!

The best choice for a trip to Daocheng Yading is undoubtedly the Crowne Plaza Yading Risong Gongbu Hotel. Located in the heart of Shangri-La town, its 2800-meter altitude is just right, avoiding altitude sickness while providing convenient access to the Yading scenic area entrance – a mere 15-minute drive to the sacred mountains. Upon arrival, a concierge proactively offered to help with luggage, a warm gesture spreading from the moment you stepped out of the car. Entering the double-height lobby, the ******* elements blend seamlessly with modern design. The hanging scroll depicting the three sacred mountains of Yading instantly evoked anticipation for the journey. The seated service during check-in was exceptionally attentive; staff member David offered ginger tea to dispel the chill of the journey and provided a detailed explanation of the scenic route and a guide map. The hotel's dining experience was a highlight of the trip. While the breakfast wasn't as lavish as in inland China, it was certainly excellent for the ******* region.

The room is super cozy, the quality of the bed linen and towels is excellent and it’s located very close to the park entrance. The only observation is in relation to the view, which says it has a mountain view when we booked the Boutique 2-bed Room, but they gave us a room on the ground floor, after insisting, they gave us a room on the third floor, still the view was not that good.

The most surprising part of my trip to Daocheng Yading was this hotel – it completely exceeded my expectations and deserves a five-star rating! The location is superb, the service is excellent, and getting around is incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' drive to the scenic area entrance, and some hotels even offer their own shuttle service at the same price as public transportation. Plus, you don't need to share a ride; they even pick you up and drop you off alone. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and pharmacies nearby, offering a quiet oasis amidst the bustling city, making it convenient for both sightseeing and daily life. The room experience was simply phenomenal! The ******* aesthetics blend seamlessly with modern design, with meticulous attention to detail. The Thangka decorations in the corridors and the wooden décor create a wonderful atmosphere. The best room was the one with a snow-capped mountain view – floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mountain peaks, and waking up to sunlight streaming into bed was incredibly comfortable. The room was impeccably clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, toiletries were complete, and the hot water supply was reliable, making showering a truly relaxing experience. I slept soundly and peacefully. Electric blankets and a humidifier were provided, keeping the room warm and dry even in winter – such thoughtful details! The service was also impeccable! The staff were warm and attentive, turning on the hot water in advance and patiently explaining the tour route and precautions against altitude sickness. They provided free oxygen concentrators and even helped with vehicle booking and luggage handling, offering a welcoming and family-like experience. The local restaurant served incredibly authentic ******* cuisine, with delicious yak hotpot, matsutake chicken soup, and rich, comforting butter tea. Here, you can see snow-capped mountains through the window, gaze at the starry sky, and breathe in pure, clean air. It's the perfect choice for accommodation in Daocheng Yading, offering both a taste of ******* culture and attentive service! Excellent value for money; I've already recommended it to friends and will definitely stay here again next time. Highly recommend it to everyone visiting Daocheng Yading!
