Tamanu on the Beach
"We loved our room with the plunge pool; what made the experience even better was the warmth and care of the happy staff. They all went overboard! Try the local fish in banana leaves and any of the talented chef’s specials. Also recommend the aromatherapy massage."
Breakas Beach Resort
"Nice resort - beautiful next to the sea. All paid meals are quite good but included breakfast is horrible. Also don’t drink the coffee"
Coco Beach Resort
"Went with my Dad and met friends who booked here. They said it was a horrible place to stay and refused to stay there. We didn't believe them until we say the place for ourselves. They lost all their booking money too because Virgin and Hotels by Hopper refused to believe the owners had let the place fall to crap ."
South Pacific Memories
"Beautiful oceanfront setting with relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Hosts Ann and Petter welcoming and helpful, offering plenty of local insights. In-house chef Andreas provides fresh and healthy dinners. A little remote but easy to commute to town via local buses. Expanse of beach and reef to explore right out the front (hosts provide expert guidance and equipment as required). Well tended native garden, comfortable and very clean facilities with excellent and attentive staff. Would definitely stay again."
Vanuatu Beachfront Apartments
"Before our arrival here we read few reviews and decided this might be the right place to stay. Our experience goes far beyond our expectation. This little hotel is run by the kindest staff on Earth. Juliette is the leader of the team which is discrete, polite and efficient. At check-in she provided us the room upgrade because of the minor issue with the celling fan. She give us a little Christmas tree to decorate saying simply "It's Christmas time". She gave us her phone to place important calls abroad. Whatever we asked for, Juliette and her team accomplished instantly. If you add to this that the hotel is located in a beautiful and calm Mele bay, that we shared the beach with only few other guests, we can resume the whole experience in one word: perfect! If there is a downside aspect of this stay than we would mention the accses road which is in a pretty bad condition. Also, ordering breakfast is little confusing because you get the basics (coffee, toast jam, cereals) for free, but all the extras (eggs, ssusage etc.), we had to pay."
Trees and Fishes Private Retreat
"The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the city center and is not very large. It has its own beach and small pier. Guests can use canoes and SUPs for free; masks need to be rented. It's recommended to rent a car. The hotel charges 7000 VAT for a one-way trip to the city center, and 30,000 VAT for a full day's use with a driver. They don't give room keys; they say it's only for staff and guests, so there's nothing to worry about. Even our room door was difficult to close properly, so we just left it open. The food at the hotel wasn't very good. Breakfast was okay, but the penne pasta we ordered for lunch was extremely salty, and the fish burger for dinner had a bread as hard as a baguette. The pizza was okay, and the fries were good. The scenery is beautiful. We stayed for four nights, but lunch and dinner were the most inconvenient."

Tropicana Lagoon Apartments
"Great, quiet place with secluded location on the lagoon. The place has very friendly staff, in-house cafe + paddle boats and kayaks for use on the lagoon. The room we stayed at had the kitchen, which was very convenient, but also a few big roaches, which wasn’t as clean as I would like it to be. Other than that, it was a great stay."
lake view apartment
"Brand new apartment, excellent location, great value for money."
Kaiviti Motel
"I travelled to Port Vila as part of a team of 4 volunteers - we all volunteer for Taskforce Kiwi and were travelling on to Ambrym Island to carry our damage assessments after Cyclone Lola. We stayed twice at Kaiviti Motel - and the owners and staff were wonderful - very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have a car but everything is in walking distance - the location is perfect. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, and found it to be very clean and suited us well. We were either working or in the pool."
MG Cocomo Resort Vanuatu
"Extremely disappointed. Terrible management (Hong Kong owed, not locals) If you do make the mistake of staying here, watch your bank account closely! I was charged twice and had to argue to receive it back. Rooms smelt mouldy and are noisy."
Erakor Island Resort & Spa
"Well we were staying at the Troppo mystique villas across the water from Erakor and spent XMAS day here with the resort guests Well where do I start the staff were amazing the decorations were amazing the food was sensational the whole vibe was one of the best Xmas days spent away from home Well done to all the staff , the band and everyone one else involved A big thanks to Annie who looked after us all day you are a credit to the resort And to Julius the best water taxi driver in the business Cheere Darren and Karen"
Poppy's on the Lagoon
"Lovely staff, comfy 2 bedroom units with small kitchen - well equipped in garden setting. Clean despite some wear and tear - adds to homely, rustic feel. Breakfast is local bakery, yoghurt and fruits and we loved having it delivered to our room so we could eat on our deck. When our flights were cancelled staff were so kind and helpful. Sad not to be able to swim in the lagoon but plenty of places to explore and swim nearby. Local markets and shop within a short walk and only a 15 min walk (albeit uphill for parts) over the hill to restaurants of Vila eg. Lalala, Waterfront"
Nasama Resort
"Friendly and helpful staff. The furniture is old and needs to be updated. Hot water is unstable, it was often necessary to rinse with cold water. A broken clock hung on the wall, which was very annoying. At night, small lizards run along the walls inside the bedroom and the ceiling, which made sounds, which is also not pleasant to hear at night. The pillows are long and hard. Dirt accumulated in the washing machine in the tank, which did not wash, but, on the contrary, stained the washed clothes."
Warwick le Lagon Resort & Spa, Vanuatu
"Good hotel, old but clean. Great staff and amenities"
The Melanesian Port Vila
"The pictures definitely don't match the reality. We stayed in the hibiscus studio, that is basically a bed inside a kitchen. The casa mia restaurant is good."
Fatumaru Lodge
"Nice view, this place has the best facilities in all places I stayed in Vanuatu."
Coconut Palms Resort & Diamond Casino
"It's in a good location for walking. The rooms are sparse. They are not very sound proof either."
Mangoes Resort
"We really enjoyed our stay at Mangoes. It was impeccably clean and well located - a beautiful view of the lagoon and a bit cut off (but not too far) from the city. The service and facilities were generally very good, the pools were lovely and reception helpful in organising travel into town for us. The restaurant has a lovely array of dishes across the day, however there were a few instances where we felt they were over-priced. and a bit underwhelming in terms of portion sizes. Mileage may vary for others. We ended up opting for other restaurants in town. Would definitely recommend a stay for those looking for a chill few days in Vila."
