"Fantastic Family Stay – Even Better Than We Remembered! We spent 5 wonderful nights at Iririki Island Resort and absolutely loved our time there. Although we went into town for lunch and dinner a few times, we mostly stayed on the island and soaked in the beautiful surroundings. The kayaking and snorkeling were a highlight, especially thanks to Etella and Teraa—these two went above and beyond to look after our family and made the experience memorable. The ocean view villa was spacious, airy, and perfect for watching the fish swim right by our deck. The breakfast buffet was excellent and included halal chicken options, which we really appreciated. The staff catered to our dietary needs and made sure alcohol was left out, which meant we could enjoy every meal without worry. Only downside: they didn’t accept Amex and charged a 3% surcharge on Visa/MasterCard, which, combined with international bank fees, added up. Although we had a discount from Trip.com, we couldn’t really take advantage of it due to these charges. Next time, we’ll prepay online instead of using the “pay at hotel” option. This was our second visit to Port Vila after 13 years, and both the city and Iririki were just as magical as we remembered. A special shoutout to Taste of India in town—absolutely fantastic food! Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking to unwind in paradise."

"I’ve just been reading some other reviews before I began and I’m struggling to understand some of the negative comments. Coco Beach was on our short list because it very clearly advertises as Adults Only. Travelling in off season meant the resort was at low capacity which was incredibly peaceful for those of us there to unwind and relax which is precisely what we were able to do over 7 glorious days. This is an older style resort and based on our research - exactly what we expected. No organised activities, No Day Spa, No noise, Nothing nearby except another beach. Fresh simple food done well. Cold drinks and unassuming hosts who will do what they can to assist you - when you are polite. Fresh, clean bures with old style coral walls in the bathrooms. We chose a room with air-con due to the time of year. Rooms are serviced daily. Beds are comfy and linen is fresh and crisp although some pillows could do with an update. Our days were spent between the open air waterfront restaurant, which could do with some fans, loungers under a tree on the beach, the pool and the sea. Entire grounds are immaculate beautiful tropical gardens and swept daily. Incredible swimming at all tides due to a canal through the reef to allow boat access and plentiful sea life on and around the reef when snorkelling. We took our own gear because it was to be a main activity of our holiday and this wasn’t our first island trip. You never get decent gear in resorts. We took the water taxi to town one day and the trip on the bay was a little tour in itself. Even detoured to ferry some local school kids across the inlet on the way home. Another day we arranged a local bus driver to take us to Blue Lagoon (where we also snorkelled) and returned via 83 Islands Rum Distillery before lunch in town with our driver at his favourite ramen noodle joint. Picked up some snacks and drinks at the supermarket and that was us. Every FAQ in TA forums will tell you to do this. Back to the resort for the rest of our stay. It has been my experience that it is rare anywhere in the South Pacific Islands to stay at a unique small, peaceful resort that your entire stay will go off without a hitch. Nothing drastic happened and any glitches were dealt with smoothly and effectively. Remember that you are on Island Time and there is absolutely nothing you can or should want to do about it if your hosts are taking care of you. Go with what you DO have not complain about what you don’t. No-one should choose a place like this if they want to be amused. Chill out, relax and enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Or get up early just to sit on the dock and watch a cruise ship come in. Coco Beach truly allowed us to switch off, wind down and re-connect. Thanks to H and the team for your hospitality. Truly loved our time with you. Thank you te mass."

Expanse of beach and reef to explore right out the front (hosts provide expert guidance and equipment as required). Well tended native garden, comfortable and very clean facilities with excellent and attentive staff. Would definitely stay again."

"At our third attempt, we got to Vanuatu and managed to stay at the Tamanu. Exchanged cash at the airport – rate as at 13/4 was VUV150 to GBP1 and VUV75 to 1AUD which didn’t seem bad. Tamanu picked us up for our 40 min transfer to the resort. Warm welcome when we arrived and our bungalow – 1 bed with plunge pool was gorgeous – great views of the sea, clean and modern and a large bathroom. Great WIFI in all areas of the resort including the room and nice to have fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee. Not much in the area so mainly ate on site and the food was tasty, varied and reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the rate and this included A La Carte options which were great. Also popped next door to the Pizza place one afternoon for a late lunch and that was well worth the visit (5 min walk along the beach) and as a small business trying to get going they would welcome the support – cash only there. Large pool area which was great to relax in and by. Plenty of quiet areas around the resort and a great place to chill out. Met the owners who were very kind and helpful. All the staff were great and couldn’t do enough for you. Would recommend a stay at Tamanu – you will not be disappointed."

"Arrived in the afternoon, opened the door of my bungalow and thought "I am home". Manager and family are always very welcoming. Staff are great, reception, cleaners, night watchman - all friendly and helpful. Two bedrooms. One Queen and One twin. Kitchenette. patio with table and chairs overlooking the lagoon. Pool and barbecue area. No restaurant - don't need one. Cook for yourself or go out and enjoy the lovely restaurants in Port Vila."

"The hotel is next to the lake and has beautiful scenery, but don't stay on the first floor next to the lake. It's not soundproof and everyone who comes for a walk seems to be dancing on your head. The other room types are very good, with mosquito nets, fans, air conditioners, complete facilities, clean and tidy, and a good location. You can walk to Stonegrill and there is a supermarket within walking distance for breakfast."

"The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the city center and is not very large. It has its own beach and small pier. Guests can use canoes and SUPs for free; masks need to be rented. It's recommended to rent a car. The hotel charges 7000 VAT for a one-way trip to the city center, and 30,000 VAT for a full day's use with a driver. They don't give room keys; they say it's only for staff and guests, so there's nothing to worry about. Even our room door was difficult to close properly, so we just left it open. The food at the hotel wasn't very good. Breakfast was okay, but the penne pasta we ordered for lunch was extremely salty, and the fish burger for dinner had a bread as hard as a baguette. The pizza was okay, and the fries were good. The scenery is beautiful. We stayed for four nights, but lunch and dinner were the most inconvenient."

"The room was very clean, but there were bugs outside, so remember to keep the windows closed. The water heater needs to be adjusted manually, otherwise, the default temperature won't be hot enough. There's no air conditioning downstairs, so it gets quite stuffy, but it's better upstairs with AC. Also, be aware that the water left out is rainwater and not safe for drinking."

"Our stay at Waves at Surfside in Pango was absolutely incredible! We stayed in a spacious 3-bedroom beachside villa and were pleasantly surprised by the elegant furnishings and king-size beds. The private swimming pool and ocean view from our bedrooms were pure luxury. Pango surf break, one of Vanuatu's prime surf beaches, provided endless excitement, home to the annual Leimalo Surfing Competition. The convenience of local buses at our doorstep made it easy to explore Port Vila and enjoy nearby restaurants, all just a short ride or walk away. Our adventures included snorkelling in Pango in front of the villa, with the special experience of swimming with a dugong on our first day, surfing the break, and exploring local cuisine at Port Vila markets. Honeymoon Beach offered amazing snorkelling with colourful coral and tropical fish. Waves at Surfside offered the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and cultural immersion on the Pango peninsula. For an unforgettable beachfront experience in Vanuatu, this is the place to be. We're eager to return for more oceanfront luxury next to the best surf in Efate and the friendly Pango village."

"Stayed here for 2 nights with my family of 4. Mixed feelings as the location is spectacular, particularly once the tide fills the little bay out the front which made it great for my kids to swim without any worries. As you exit the little bay and snorkel to the right the coral is really exceptional but need to be careful of the currents as there is a rip. We had a family bungalow which was large and comfortable enough. Shower was cold and a trickle though and there were quite a few mosquitoes around. Restaurant and bar area is a nice open space and food was ok We did a fishing trip with them which I wouldn't recommend at all. Boat and fishing gear had all seen better days and 'guides' had no idea"

The Havannah Vanuatu - Exclusively for Adults
"Oh My!!!! What a wonderful place to stay. The Havannah ticked all the boxes... No Kids!, max 34 guests, extremely quiet, no motorised water sports (no jetski noise etc), a la carte for brekky lunch and dinner included in the room rate. Lots of free watercraft - single and 2 person kayaks, Hobi cat, stand up paddleboards. Also free use of snorkelling gear. The very close coral isn't spectacular, but the staff will advise which way to swim to see the better coral. There were still many very colourful fish to see, and 2 x large (30cm across) anemones just off the beach along with their resident clown fish. If you look carefully, you will often see turtles and dugongs just off the beach. We also saw a pod of dolphins out in the deeper water. For those who like to go fishing, you can book to do just that, and also book other tours, remote picnics, snorkelling etc. The meals at The Havannah are amazing! Every mouthful is a carefully curated taste experience. No seasoning necessary! And there was absolutely nothing we ate where we thought - 'needed a little more' anything. Every morsel was just perfect. The chefs here are very much world class! Every staff member was so very cheerful, helpful, kind and caring. The beach and views are amazing. Waters are crystal clear and often glassy if there is little breeze. We drank many cocktails, spirits etc for 6 nights and the total cost was only just over $300Australian - incredibly good value. The complimentary pickup from the airport took away all stress. They even tell you the evening before what time they will take you the next day to the airport. The road from Port Havannah to Port Vila is not in a good way at present, but you need to remember this is a developing country with not much population and many islands for the government to look after. The bus was aircondioned and comfy - so we just took in the views. We WILL be going back!"

"I cannot comment on the accommodation but can on the breakfast l had there today. Let me start with the good. This is a wonderful venue for children with breakfast and great coffee served near the kiddies pool area. Kudos to management for the fun area. The staff are very friendly and try their best. Now for their breakfast. I cannot even begin to express my dismay. On paper the Big breakfast seems great on the menu. Eggs, bacon, toast, half a banana, some grapefruit slices and 2 sausages. The bacon was undercooked remaining pink and white, the fried eggs were hard and dry being over cooked, the white bread used to make the toast caused my husband's sugar levels to spike up in the high 19 area and the sausages were spicy preservative filled pieces of brown ooze encased in sausage skins. Everything tasted awful. The staff did kindly cook the bacon a bit more and were extremely nice about it. I did not have the energy to complain about the sausages and egg but ate it in boarding school style. I hope to see an improvement but l will only be having their great coffee there until the breakfast improves. Such a pity as the rest of the resort looks great."

"I travelled to Port Vila as part of a team of 4 volunteers - we all volunteer for Taskforce Kiwi and were travelling on to Ambrym Island to carry our damage assessments after Cyclone Lola. We stayed twice at Kaiviti Motel - and the owners and staff were wonderful - very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have a car but everything is in walking distance - the location is perfect. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, and found it to be very clean and suited us well. We were either working or in the pool."

"Before our arrival here we read few reviews and decided this might be the right place to stay. Our experience goes far beyond our expectation. This little hotel is run by the kindest staff on Earth. Juliette is the leader of the team which is discrete, polite and efficient. At check-in she provided us the room upgrade because of the minor issue with the celling fan. She give us a little Christmas tree to decorate saying simply "It's Christmas time". She gave us her phone to place important calls abroad. Whatever we asked for, Juliette and her team accomplished instantly. If you add to this that the hotel is located in a beautiful and calm Mele bay, that we shared the beach with only few other guests, we can resume the whole experience in one word: perfect! If there is a downside aspect of this stay than we would mention the accses road which is in a pretty bad condition. Also, ordering breakfast is little confusing because you get the basics (coffee, toast jam, cereals) for free, but all the extras (eggs, ssusage etc.), we had to pay."

To relax and enjoy the beautiful island with locals was incredibly special, the food amazing and to operate so sustainably, filtered drinking water and solar power, was an added plus for us."
