Cheap Hotels in Florence

"I would give this hostel a perfect score if it weren't for its location. The living conditions are ideal; the beds are even more comfortable than those in a hotel. The only issue was that the air conditioning was too cold and couldn't be adjusted, making me feel a bit chilly at night. The staff were very helpful, and the lobby was clean and cozy. However, this hostel feels more like a hotel than a traditional hostel because there's no communal kitchen. You can use a card to operate the washing machine and dryer, though. There's a study area, and it seems you can even book yoga classes and other activities. If, like me, you prefer to stay closer to the city center, this might not be the perfect choice, as the nearby bus route 17 is often delayed or unreliable. But if you prioritize a comfortable living experience, I wholeheartedly recommend it."

"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel La Fortezza and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10–15 minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station. If you prefer public transportation, there is a bus stop just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, making it easy to reach all the major attractions. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of character. We especially appreciated having a room with a window, and everything was well maintained throughout our stay. One of the first things we noticed was the hotel’s pleasant signature fragrance, which created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, but we would especially like to thank Mr. Buli, who was working the night shift. We returned to the hotel late one evening after all the nearby restaurants had closed. When he learned that my son was hungry, he kindly prepared fresh sandwiches and yogurt for us from the hotel kitchen. His kindness and willingness to help went far beyond our expectations and made us feel truly cared for. Another thoughtful service was that the hotel offers complimentary travel adapters for guests, which was very convenient. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would happily stay at Hotel La Fortezza again on our next visit to Florence. Highly recommended!

"The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Florence Cathedral (Duomo), or a 5-minute taxi ride from the train station. Although it's slightly away from the city center, located in a quiet residential area, it's peaceful and free from tourist crowds! Check-in at the front desk is until 2 PM, after which it's self-service, which is very straightforward. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean, with all the necessary amenities. Additionally, the hotel boasts a very large garden where guests can enjoy coffee and socialize."

"I stayed in a lot of hostels around the world but this one is probably one of the best! I booked in a 6 Mixed Bed with Sharing WC. They had everything. I had an amazing stay and it’s near the train and bus stations going to the center. I was surprised when I explore the whole area, the kitchen is organized by using separate paper bags labeled with the food. There’s laundry, lockers, and the room cleaning is always on time. The AC is fixed because of the summer which is understandable. Overall, if stay in Florence I will comeback and book here again! Great job."

"Super convenient, it is located 1 minute walk from the bus station. Only 50 meters away. The train station is only 5 minutes by an urban bus. The staffs were attentive and very helpful. The food was great. Only 5 minutes walk up to the panorama viewpoint, and 10 minutes walk to the fountain and the city center."

"This was by far my favorite hotel throughout my trip in Italy. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the decor felt both high-end and charmingly rustic. The breakfast was delicious too! It's just around the corner from the train station, making it perfect for anyone with multiple train connections. Plus, it's a short walk to all the main attractions in Florence."

"We stayed three nights at this hotel during our three days in Florence. It's about a 15-minute walk from the train station. The front desk attendant, a really nice Caucasian guy, was super helpful. My English isn't great, so he typed out all the important information and translated it on the computer for me, explaining what each key was for. The room was very spacious, with a separate bedroom and a large living room that had a sofa bed. The kitchen had a fridge and a kettle, giving it a real home-away-from-home feel. It was very comfortable, and I'd definitely recommend staying here."

"It is an old building and interiors are pretty aged . The AC in room is barely functioning. They have free breakfast however the choices are limited and repetitive everyday . The staff is very friendly and attentive . The hotel location is super convenient close to every iconic attractions in town .Restaurants and laundry shop are in short walking distance . The area is fairly safe ."

"The service and everything is great, it has nice parking area as well.  Only one thing to talk about is that it uses the city center photo as the main photo of the hotel which could be slightly misleading that it is the view that it is looking at. Of course there is location on the system but as a foriegner, we wouldn’t be that familiar especially during a fast trip and just looking for the photo."

"Short walk into town. Bit of a longer walk to the river. Tram stop right outside, which goes to the train station and airport! Lovely staff, we’re so kind and smiling! Free minibar was a bonus. Amazing rooms, and comfy bed! Lovely spa area! Lovely warm pool, just wish it was open longer! Thanks for a great stay!!"
