"It was a real pleasure for us to be guests of this incredible hotel! I put the high rating first and foremost because of the great treatment we received upon check-in. Personally escorted and accommodated by the kind gentleman at the reception, we received all the details for our stay and a willingness for constant support. I am delighted with the service and cleaning of the rooms - every detail was taken care of. The breakfast is delicious, rich enough for every taste. There are also fresh juices for detox. I am in love with the toiletries in the bathroom - such high quality and wonderful scent. I am impressed with the hotel's branding on all the extras for guests - the bathroom slippers, hangers, toilet paper, etc. Everything is tastefully done and meets the highest requirements and criteria. The lobby bar staff is also very friendly. The location was convenient for us, a room with a view of the river and a balcony - a great view, fresh air and pleasant silence. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect balance between high quality of service, location and price. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we are guests of the city. "First off, great crew at the front desk. Whether it’s answering my calls requesting the ironing board, or calling a cab for me the day of my departure, they were always available and willing to help. The issue is they might have overdone it in one instance when I put a note on the room door before leaving asking not to be disturbed and came back to see someone had gotten into my room, changed sheets and towels + “arranged” my stuff. Nice intention but got me confused looking for certain things. The gym was also a little disappointing: tiny, very limited equipment and only fit for one person at a time. It’s really a space to do yoga and stretch, with one treadmill. But it helped nonetheless. The real elephant in the room was the location. I found this hotel looking for a place in Florence and this is very misleading from the booking platforms. The city is Prato, there are no Ubers, public transit tricky to navigate (walk 10-15 minutes + take 2 buses and a train to get to Florence in a trip that totals 1h30 min on average) and taxis are rare + expensive (the cheapest I paid was 50€ for a 13 min trip to the airport). Not to mention most taxi drivers are clearly scamming you because they know you’re desperate, turning off their meters and asking you to pay cash. Overall, not my most memorable experience and would only recommend if you’re staying in Prato. If you plan to visit Florence and are tempted to book a cheaper hotel north of the city, think twice."

"Very close to the train station and Florence Cathedral, with plenty of dining options nearby. Most importantly, we visited in July during a heatwave, and the air conditioning in the room worked perfectly, making it cool and comfortable within minutes of returning."

"What a fantastic hotel! It's super convenient to get around, just 500 meters from the train station. There's a bus stop right outside, and it's an easy walk to the Old Town. The lobby is really cool with a pool table, coffee, and plenty of seating – you can tell a lot of thought went into the design. Definitely a great place to socialize!"

"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel La Fortezza and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10–15 minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station. If you prefer public transportation, there is a bus stop just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, making it easy to reach all the major attractions. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of character. We especially appreciated having a room with a window, and everything was well maintained throughout our stay. One of the first things we noticed was the hotel’s pleasant signature fragrance, which created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, but we would especially like to thank Mr. Buli, who was working the night shift. We returned to the hotel late one evening after all the nearby restaurants had closed. When he learned that my son was hungry, he kindly prepared fresh sandwiches and yogurt for us from the hotel kitchen. His kindness and willingness to help went far beyond our expectations and made us feel truly cared for. Another thoughtful service was that the hotel offers complimentary travel adapters for guests, which was very convenient. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would happily stay at Hotel La Fortezza again on our next visit to Florence. "Very good and considerate staff. Always available. Awesome design and very good lighting and landscaping, albeit a questionable caliber of guests (some hotel guests were staring at me in a way that makes me feel unease and somewhat uncomfortable), but i understand totally it has nothing to do with the hotel itself. Would recommend for people who want a relaxed and laid-back stay in Florence. This is your at-call mini villa here in Florence, very cute backyard and very nice design, and the room was unbelievably comfortable, the shower included. And they had a nice and quiet reading room in the common area, despite the fact that i would recommend the hotel install some anti-UV shades at the place, in general the atmosphere was impeccable. This is the place i want to stay in for 3 months to do some research in."

"I'm someone who's really particular about hotels. When I travel, I usually pore over dozens of reviews before booking, and even though this hotel is a bit older, it's incredibly clean and charming. There weren't many photos of the Small Suite online, but it had a separate bedroom, a bathroom down a small hallway, and another small room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out our luggage! The hotel's location is unbeatable for visiting any tourist spot, like the Duomo or Santa Maria Novella station. Plus, there's a Starbucks on the first floor that I used a few times. The most important things are location and cleanliness, and even though the hotel is in a bustling area, it was surprisingly quiet, so I slept like a baby! The bed was comfortable and didn't hurt my back, so I slept soundly. Both rooms had windows for occasional ventilation, and the cleaning was excellent. Despite my initial doubts about an older hotel, it offered great value for money. I really loved this place and highly recommend it to fellow Koreans – it's the best! As for breakfast, while it's not super diverse (considering the value), for the price, it's pretty decent compared to other hotels in the area."

"I would give this hostel a perfect score if it weren't for its location. The living conditions are ideal; the beds are even more comfortable than those in a hotel. The only issue was that the air conditioning was too cold and couldn't be adjusted, making me feel a bit chilly at night. The staff were very helpful, and the lobby was clean and cozy. However, this hostel feels more like a hotel than a traditional hostel because there's no communal kitchen. You can use a card to operate the washing machine and dryer, though. There's a study area, and it seems you can even book yoga classes and other activities. If, like me, you prefer to stay closer to the city center, this might not be the perfect choice, as the nearby bus route 17 is often delayed or unreliable. But if you prioritize a comfortable living experience, I wholeheartedly recommend it."

"All good, for a four star hotel the rooms are a bit so-so given the rooms and the price... little maintenance we had problems with the shower closing, and the bed was made a bit so-so, the rooms are not very soundproof (we could hear both the guy in front snoring and the one next to him talking) for the rest very friendly and helpful there is the possibility of parking in front of the hotel so very convenient and for work it is fine."

"Another amazing stay! The location is super convenient, and the hotel has a charming, vintage feel – it's old but absolutely clean and odor-free. The service was thoughtful, detailed, and attentive. When we had issues with the beds and a leaky faucet in both our rooms, they promptly and quickly moved us to new ones. Before check-out, they even prepared sweets and a farewell letter. The facilities are complete and well-equipped, and the breakfast was superb with a wide variety of options. Plus, you get great views from the platform. Highly recommend!"
