"I recently stayed at Planet Holiday Hotel Batam for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. One of the highlights of my stay was being pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which made the trip even more comfortable and memorable. The suite was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s location is excellent and one of its biggest advantages. It’s conveniently surrounded by shopping malls, plenty of food options, convenience stores, and Batam’s vibrant nightlife, making it easy to explore the area without travelling far. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a hotel that offers great value, a strategic location, comfortable rooms, and excellent hospitality, I would definitely recommend Planet Holiday Hotel Batam. "The location of the hotel was great, just a short 5 mins walk from the Habourbay Terminal. However, was rather disappointed by the service and facilities. (1) Room had a weird stale, musty smell when we first checked in to our room, but the smell eventually went away after 2-3h with aircon circulation. It was bearable but we could really use an air freshener. (2) We were not informed that the gym/pool had opening or closing times. There were also no signs indicating as such. When we tried to visit the gym at around 10pm, everything was already closed. (3) On the amenities, we had to make repeated checks receptionist that we can get a shaving razor and instant coffee. At first, the housekeeping didn't understand what we wanted. The first receptionist at the front desk simply just tried to waive us away by saying they are not available. It was only after we approached a second receptionist did they finally understood and brought it out for us. The shower gel also ran out after the first night and housekeeping did not refill it despite cleaning the room in the day. (4) The hotel spa, despite saying they were open for 24h and that a reservation was required, repeatedly told us to go to their counter at the 4th floor to check on availability. We went there and checked at least 6 times during our 3D2N stay and each time, we were told that there was no immediate availability but to come back at a later time instead. They also turned us away when we tried to make an advance booking. They could have saved time for everyone by just saying there was no availability and reservations were unavailable instead of asking us to come back every now and then. Overall, the service level was very disappointing for a 4-star hotel. There are better and cheaper hotel options around the Harbourbay area."

"The security staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful，they would even assist by opening the door, which made us feel welcomed. The location is very convenient, especially if you have an early ferry back to Malaysia. It’s only about a 5-minute walk to the terminal, which is a big plus. However, the room cleanliness needs improvement. The pillowcases and bedsheets had visible stains, which was quite disappointing."

"I enjoyed the accessibility to Grand ESKA spa. The breakfast buffet was simple yet enjoyable and delicious. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Appreciated the front desk team for remembering us by face and asking how our day was daily. The hotel was refurbished. Even though old, the bed was good, firm and new and room was kept clean. The lift was rather dingy but it still got us up and down safely. Lastly, i personally enjoyed the quiet corners of the hotel. Loved the fact that our level was “child free” hence there werent kids shouting in rooms. I love children, but the hotel’s particular policy of no child in the room type we booked was pleasantly surprising. Will returned. Note: spa experience was on point too."

There are plenty of restaurants and food options nearby. A Morning Bakery is just a 5-minute walk away, perfect for an authentic local breakfast experience. The rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. The unique cruise ship theme adds charm and provides several great Instagram-worthy photo spots. The hotel also features a pleasant swimming pool, and massage services are available at rates more affordable than many external spas. Staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help."

"Facilities: Great facilities, there's a game room on the first floor, and the room amenities are also complete. Cleanliness: Very good, spotless, and the room is spacious. Service: Everyone was lovely, and we even received a welcome drink. Environment: It's right next to the pier, and you can even see Singapore in the distance."

"Stayed from 8 to 10 August 2026. The staff were very friendly and professional, and honestly, the service felt more like a 5 star experience despite being a 3 star hotel. However, the room was quite disappointing old, dusty, and in need of renovation or refurbishment. The lobby looks much better, but I hope the management will give the rooms the same attention. Overall, great hospitality from the staff, but the rooms definitely need improvement."

The toilet and bathtub did not appear to be properly cleaned and had an unpleasant smell. I also noticed some stains on the walls and bed sheets. I hope the management can improve the hygiene standards, as it greatly affects the overall guest experience."
