It’s walking distance to Tokyo Skytree, and the room we chose was spacious with a stylish design, giving the stay a modern and comfortable feel.

Unlike traditional Japanese hotels that usually include a bathtub, this one has a more contemporary setup—you can tell it’s designed with foreign visitors in mind. Food options nearby are limited, and we also had some difficulty finding a spot to unload our baggage since there isn’t a designated area for cars.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the combination of strategic location, modern design, and accessibility makes it a place we’d be happy to return to.

Wonderful stay. Stations (of various lines) are 10 to 15min walk away. Lotsa shopping, konbini, food, spa all around. 

Room is clean, size is better than expected (the usual japanese room size). 

Public bath is good & clean. Service from staff are extremely good. Rented hair straightener & luggage scale. The amenities also includes disposable utensils which is good fr konbini food. 

Will def be back again!

This was my first trip to Japan, and I chose this hotel. Overall, it was pretty good. The location is excellent, very close to Shinjuku Station and Tokyo Station by subway. There's even a Rinkai Line subway station right downstairs. We also visited Yokohama and Kamakura, and the subway ride was quick. The hotel is in a commercial area, with a supermarket, convenience store, and many restaurants downstairs. Everything in Japan is quite small, so the room was also tiny – much smaller compared to hotels in the US or China. All in all, it was just okay, but generally satisfactory!

Close to the subway, nice amenities like free tea, cotton pads, face wash, etc…. And able to borrow charging cable.

Booked 4 nights stay here. The overall experience is good, the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is extremely good (for me) as it's only a 5-6 mins walk from the Keikyu-Kamata station. There is a 7-Eleven convenience store, Chinese cuisine restaurant and a pharmacy nearby. There is also a Shōtengai (Shopping/commercial street) nearby, which is around 5-6 mins walk from the hotel. They provided hair shampoo, hair conditioner and body shampoo, you have to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste and other toiletries. There is an onsite washing machine and dryer (you need to dry for a longer time if your clothes are thick) that use coins, luckily we manage to change some coins using the machine at the counter with the help from the staff. If there's one downside to this hotel, it's that the double room is a bit small, but considering the price and the location, it's still good value for money.

It felt a little far from the station. Since it's an older hotel, there were no power outlets by the bed. However, the cleanliness was excellent, and the breakfast was substantial, so I was satisfied.

This hotel in Kyoto truly exceeded my expectations — it feels like a higher-class hotel than its price, especially during cherry blossom season.

1. What I loved:

* The breakfast is probably the best I’ve had in 11 years of traveling around Japan — a wide selection of refined and unexpected dishes for this price range
* A rare find in Japan: a room for three adults with three separate beds
* Great location: about 10–12 minutes by foot from Kyoto Station
* Just 5 minutes away, there’s a bus stop with routes to different parts of Kyoto
* Quiet, cozy neighborhood — a nice escape from the usually crowded tourist areas
* Very friendly and helpful reception staff
* Convenient luggage forwarding service to other cities

2. Overall feeling:
An excellent value-for-money hotel with a peaceful atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

3. Downsides:

* Very few places to eat nearby (only 1–2 options)
* During our stay, one restaurant was closed for the weekend, leaving almost no choice except a small skewers place
* However, near Kyoto Station (10 minutes walk) there are many underground cafés and restaurants
* Breakfast last enter time is 9/9:15

The location is decent; we took public transportation everywhere and didn't have to walk much. However, the price gouging during the May Day holiday was insane QAQ. It's usually 400 a night, but we paid 1200. At that price, it's really hard to give a good review. I booked it mainly for the garden view and breakfast, but both were just okay. If you went early for breakfast, you'd get tempura 🍤, but if you went late, it was just rice and cold dishes. I'd recommend not paying extra for this place.

The location is pretty good, very close to Kyoto Station. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. The only downside is that the two beds are pushed together.

After booking on Trip.com, I still had to pay a tax upon arrival. I thought it was a deposit, and when checking out, I stupidly went to the front desk to ask for it back. The staff member looked totally bewildered 😳

If you want your room cleaned, you absolutely have to hang the sign outside your door. This is different from China, where cleaning is usually assumed.

This is the second time that I’ve booked here because the last time I came everything was satisfactory. The room was really wide compared to other hotels that I’ve been to in Japan. Not just that, the onsen was clean as always and had yuzu inside this time but maybe it’s because it was winter but I couldn’t see it the next day so that was abit sad. The service was great!! You can check out and still ask them to hold the bag. The only downside I could say was that the walls were slightly stained ?? I think it’s due to the luggage being moved around by other individuals. It’s not too the point that it would bother anyone. But it did catch my eye abit.

We had a fantastic stay at Insomnia Kyoto Oike. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel offers 24-hour lounge services included in the room price, which was super convenient. They even provided a free bicycle to explore Kyoto and umbrellas when it rained. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bathroom, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended!

Every word of mouth has a great response from the staff at the dog first, but I felt that it was correct.
I think it was really good for Mr. Andogie to have the first stay experience of my dog.
My dog is large and barking is quite powerful, but I was able to stay with peace of mind because the staff who were accustomed to the dog loved me.

I don’t mind the small space since I’m travelling alone, but the moment I entered the room, an irritating and unknown smell greeted me. I don’t know where it is coming from but the smell lasts until the day of my checkout. There’s also a few small strands of hair on the walls and floors of the comfort room. Some of the amenities, which are body soap and shampoo, smelled old. For some items, like the microwave, are only available in some floors and it’s kind of hassle on my part. But the staffs seemed friendly, and the receptionist knows how to speak english.

Service: Very friendly, able to communicate in English and Japanese.

Cleanliness: Very clean, with a door separating the room and the toilet.

Environment: Very close to Nagoya Tower, and transportation is very convenient. It's a five-minute walk from Sakae Station.

One of our favorite hotels in Japan!! Great location, free coffee/ drinks when check in. Walking distance to Nagoya castle. If I ever go to Nagoya again would totally stay there again

Hotel is quite new, not far from subway.  However, room is a bit small and space to place luggage and hanging jacket / clothes not enough.  Hygiene is good and self serve ice cream

The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was well-maintained with a proper separation between the shower and dry areas. Everything felt clean and comfortable. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more pleasant.

In terms of location, it’s very convenient. There is a Lawson right across the street, and a 7-Eleven about a five-minute walk away. The hotel is also around an eight-minute walk from Fushimi Station (Exit 10) on the Higashiyama Line, making it easy to get around the city.
