"This hotel is in a small town we passed through while driving along Highway 1. It's quite clean, and breakfast was just apples and energy bars. Overall, it offers good value for money. There's also a pool, but it was too cold to swim."

"The room was large, spacious and very comfortable. It’s just that the street I live in is a bit noisy in the morning. The water heat in the shower is a bit slow. There is free wine in the evening. Parking is free and safe. There are Trader Joe’s around, net red cafe"

Alila Ventana Big Sur - Inclusive Resort

For a resort that starts at ~$2,000/night this place falls very short in various areas. For an all inclusive resort there were very few dining options (it was either the sur house or the pool side bar). Most of the staff were really friendly but we did feel like the housekeeping staff weren’t too professional at times (once they opened the door to our room even when we told them to give us a few seconds to get to the door). Although the resort is in a beautiful location, I don’t know if I would consider this place luxurious.

Unpleasant stay experience. At the time of check-in, there was no door*** at the entrance. Someone was in front of the registration. After leaving the question, the front desk staff did not take the initiative to receive it. I also asked for the initiative to go forward. There was no smile in the process. Applying for a crib at check-in, one is bad, and I don’t see it until I leave it. The breakfast was delivered to the room and it felt a bit like a fast food, cutlery plastic. When I checked out, when I asked if I could give me a bill, the service staff threw two sheets of paper at hand. I was shocked. I asked if there was an envelope and then I threw it. The details of such a service made me think that I lived in a normal hotel. By the way, the hotel will charge an additional $30 environmental fee, saying that the hotel is built in a protected area...

A run-down resort hotel. I drove past it on California Highway 1. I didn't listen to the comments and booked it for nearly 4,000 dollars. The view was OK. The loft was two floors high and too old. This was not the fatal flaw. The staff was too careless (for example). Figure 5: There are two shampoos hanging in the shower room, but no shower gel. This is the first time in my life that the front desk opened a room where guests were staying. After having a limited dinner of fries and hamburgers in the building where we checked in (such a large resort has only one restaurant that caters to all dining needs), we walked in the dark to the building where we were staying, climbed the stairs and opened the door. There were used drinks on the table in the living room, and the bed was messy. I was shocked. You have to know that this is a country where you can carry guns. If there was someone in the room, we would be considered trespassing and we could defend ourselves. I immediately called the front desk and told them that they had given the wrong room card and that a new one would be sent. The waiter drove an electric car to deliver the room card and asked three questions (Why was the wrong room card sent? Where is our car? Where is our luggage? He answered all three ”I don't know” and left without even taking the wrong room card back.) My husband got angry and ran to the front desk with my son to argue. After negotiations, they said they had asked the manager to waive half a day's room fee. Because my son was young and this was the first time I encountered this kind of problem, I didn't leave the name, title and phone number of the person who made the promise. When I checked out the next morning, a different staff member said that the previous shift had not taken over and didn't know about the matter. After another round of tug-of-war, they said they could give us a free breakfast, and we accepted it based on the principle of not affecting our holiday mood. This free a la carte breakfast tasted much better than the buffet breakfast in the previous few days.

I stayed in Monterey for two nights to watch whales. The hotel is very close to the port and it is very convenient to drive for ten minutes. However, I was very seasick when I went out to sea. I fell asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel. The breakfast the next day was quite rich, with fried rice

recommend! A very romantic hotel in Carmel. It is a 12-minute walk from the small street in the city center and a three-minute walk from the beach. You can watch the orange beach sunset in the room. The building and decoration of the hotel have a Spanish style. There is a garden with good vegetation. Many places are suitable for internet celebrities to take photos. Breakfast is very careful. In the evening, there are sangria wine and chocolate cookies. The rooms are relatively small, but the hotel service is very warm

The hotel has convenient parking and a great environment. The only downside is that you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself. As for housekeeping, they won't clean your room unless you specifically ask them to, and you need to arrange it in advance. The in-room phone doesn't work, so you have to call the front desk on your mobile phone for any services you need.

Room: Overall it is quite big. It seems that all rooms are suites, so they all have a living room. The facilities are OK, not new, but not old. It is relatively quiet overall. Service: The front desk is very friendly. The hotel includes breakfast. There are not many varieties, but there are fresh scrambled eggs and pancakes. Parking at the entrance of the hotel is 20 yuan, and you will be given a small card to put in the car. Location: Basically, you can get on the highway very quickly. There are some simple fast food and supermarkets and gas stations opposite, which is quite convenient.

The hotel is in a good location and is an excellent place to enjoy the sea view along Highway 1. It was so beautiful to enjoy the sea view and sunset while having dinner in the hotel restaurant. The hotel environment is tidy and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you are driving Route 1, this hotel is worth recommending. Facilities: new Hygiene: good Good environment good service

Great location! I had a conference at the Monterey Conference which is less than a 3 min walk! Only thing was that there was no AC, I’m so used to assuming that hotels always have AC, but it was my bad for not checking ahead of time. I asked for a roll out bed, and they were able to provide that, depending on availability at no extra cost. Had a good stay! Quite historical hotel.

The reviews were terrible, and the score didn't even exceed 4 points. I took the risk and booked a hotel. In fact, my stay was pretty good, not as bad as the reviews said, and it was worthy of the price. As for the parking issue, it is an open parking lot, and there are a lot of traffic in the off-season. There are many parking spaces and no one is managing them. If you ask about parking, the front desk will tell you the parking charges (the room fee bill is posted at the front desk). There are business districts around and there are too many free parking spaces at night.
