We stayed in a historic king room, it was clean and very charming. Our only complaint is that the walls are thin and the street noise was quite loud waking us up during the night; everything else was more than satisfactory.

Great location! I had a conference at the Monterey Conference which is less than a 3 min walk! Only thing was that there was no AC, I’m so used to assuming that hotels always have AC, but it was my bad for not checking ahead of time. I asked for a roll out bed, and they were able to provide that, depending on availability at no extra cost. Had a good stay! Quite historical hotel.

The room is too small and the furniture is too old. More importantly, the hotel manager is really unprofessional. He took the opportunity to raise the price and suggested that Chinese people choose other hotels when they go to Monterey.

I loved the Monterey Hotel! It’s actually two adjoining buildings, and I was fortunate to get a room in the “historic” side, with high ceilings, creaky floors, classic furniture, and weird geometry. It felt very pleasant and spacious. Water pressure left something to be desired and the desk was fairly small, but it was good enough and WiFi was great. The location is great in downtown Monterey, very walkable with plenty of places to eat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was coffee, tea and granola bars, which was more than I expected because the reservation didn’t mention breakfast at all. Overall a great stay; I’ll definitely come here again when I’m in Monterey.

Walking distace to sites and food. Parking ramp near by so valet not needed. Historic hotel so small rooms in that part of hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Quuck grab n go breakfast and coffee.

I wish the windows were more insulated. I could hear all the noise from Alvarado street below. Also didn’t help that there were dogs in the room across the hall that would bark at any noise that they heard.

Loved the architecture and history of the hotel. The parking was off-site. Prior to checking in, we weren't advised to park in the back to unload. Therefore, we struggled to double park in front to unload.
Also, they didn't have AC in the rooms. So, it was really hot in the room at night.
Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay.
