"A gorgeous hotel on Cannery Row. The room was super big and comfortable. Yes, it's an old hotel with history, but everything was clean, and it had the best bed I've slept in during my month in the US. You just don't want to get out of it! The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and there was a duvet cover – I was surprised, as I hadn't seen one anywhere else and thought they didn't know what it was here, but apparently, they do. The service was top-notch; they helped with luggage during check-in and check-out, and the ladies at reception were very responsive. Everything you need is in the room. The bathroom is spacious, the room is large and comfortable, and sleeping with the window open is a pure delight. The only downside is the showerhead – it's a plague in hotels! It's fixed to the wall and has very weak water pressure, which is a disaster. It's impossible to shower without getting your hair wet if you don't have a shower cap. And the hairdryer! That's just a tragedy for a hotel of this caliber. The hairdryer was like my grandma's, so old and weak. I practically burned all my hair with it. I called reception and asked for another one, but they said all rooms only have that type of hairdryer. I told them it was a tragedy, that it takes an hour to dry your hair, and I don't know what century it's from. The views from the hotel are amazing, with panoramic windows, and the restaurant is one of the best in the city. The location is 🔝."

"The breakfast was very good, there were a lot of tricks, just a bit late, it was only 8:00. The location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to eat around, about 5 minutes to the beach. The house is beautiful and the facilities are good. Parking is a parking space on the road, and it is available when there is time. I booked $198 on Ctrip. I actually paid $203 in the store. I don't know why? In addition to the exchange rate fluctuation factor, it is nearly ¥100 more than the online one. Scenic spot, the price is a bit high."

Cold meals are available at 16:00 in the lobby, ham cheese fruit wine is very good. No hot food for breakfast and no meat, sorry. Overall good and worth recommending. "I stayed in Monterey for two nights to watch whales. The hotel is very close to the port and it is very convenient to drive for ten minutes. However, I was very seasick when I went out to sea. I fell asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel. The breakfast the next day was quite rich, with fried rice"

The soul of the Monterey Peninsula comes to life at Kimpton Mirador, where laidback coastal luxury meets meaningful connection. The hotel sits in harmony with the historic homes, walkable streets and renowned landmarks of Pacific Grove. Spanish Revival-inspired architecture, warm and welcoming interiors, a verdant courtyard, and our breezy on-site restaurant, The Caledonian, capture the spirit of this seaside getaway, making our boutique hotel the perfect home base for your adventures around the vibrant Central California Coast.

"This new hotel's rooms were quite satisfying in every aspect. Our family of four had plenty of space, and the decor was modern. While not a huge hotel, the service and facilities were good. It's about a 10-minute drive from Monterey's wharf and the aquarium. The surrounding area isn't bustling, but it's very charming – perfect for a vacation stroll, whether it's Lover's Point by the sea or the colorful cottages nearby. It's definitely not a lively area, but parking is free. I'd say there are three downsides. First, the shower water pressure isn't great (a common issue in the US). Second, in addition to the $3000-a-night room rate, there's an extra $60+ per night resort fee. Ctrip didn't mention this, and it can be frustrating when you find out later. However, it seems many resort hotels in the US charge this. This particular hotel didn't have many facilities, and since we arrived late at night, we spoke to them and they quickly waived it. But there's no guarantee they'll waive it next time. Third, and I don't blame the hotel for this, I think it's Ctrip's fault. Ctrip stated that breakfast for two was included. When we got to the hotel, it was à la carte. We initially asked the restaurant staff how to order the included breakfast and if there were any restrictions. The staff said there were no restrictions, but actually, there's a $50 per person limit, so be aware of that. For two breakfasts, that's $100, which is usually enough. For breakfast, I found the steak to be just okay. I'd recommend the oatmeal bowl and the English muffins (their specialty). The omelets were also good."

The Carmel Mission Inn, a stylish hotel that provides a great central location to explore Carmel and all that the Monterey Peninsula has to offer. Imagine your trip to Carmel with its breathtaking beaches, great restaurants, world-class golf courses, an endless variety of leisure activities plus a wealth of unique shops that make up the Monterey Peninsula experience.

"Very exquisite, clean and quiet hotel with a good environment. Maybe it's not the weekend, so there are few people. The room is big, but the air conditioner is noisy. It is far from the town of Carmel and there is no car nearby. The shops opposite the hotel closed before 8 o'clock, and the supermarket was open until 10 o'clock. I finally found a barbecue restaurant that was open until 9 o'clock and had dinner there."

"Very nice cabin, very close to the beach lover's point, the sofa bed in the living room is flat to sleep two people, the hotel's small living room is very comfortable, it rains a bit cold in the morning, it is very comfortable to sit in front of the fireplace, that is, breakfast is really simple. In addition, Trip.com showed that it paid 2 knives to the store, and actually paid 21 knives to the store. It said that it was facilities fees and taxes. This is still not known whether it is a hotel problem or a Trip.com problem."

Carmel Bay View Inn

Carmel is a beautiful town and the hotel is in the town centre, so the location is perfect. Room was a little dated, but reasonably clean. On the night we arrived to check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. He gave us detailed instructions regarding our room and parking, also local restaurants recommendations. His service was a 5 star! On the morning of departure, we vacated the room and checked out at 9am. We went for a stroll in the town, and returned after an hour. When we returned at 10am I asked the staff (not the friendly staff helped us check in) if I can use a restroom. Knowing we just checked out, the staff bluntly replied there isn’t public toilet in the hotel, so we’d better use the one in the local park. When we asked if we could go back to our room to use the toilet as it’s still early. His said the cleaners were already in. We then walked to our car which was next to our room, only to find the cleaners hadn’t been at all. Zero hospitality, disappointed.

The hotel is very close to the aquarium. The room was large and had a fireplace, which made it very warm. There was a long sofa bed by the window, but I kept hitting my head on the corner of the wall! I hit it so hard I forgot to take pictures. The bathroom faucet was leaking, and I called twice but no one answered. When checking in, the front desk saw Asian faces and put them in a different building. I had read other guest comments before and it turns out they were true. The other building had a long corridor connecting it, and the room faced the street, which was extremely noisy. There was a constant mix of music and loud motorcycle sounds. This night was too long, I had to wait until dawn. Breakfast was very good, generous portions and delicious. The restaurant and parking attendants were all very nice.

The location was good, a short walk to Asilomar Beach which is a wonderful coastal trail with deer, bunnies & lots of birds in the early morning (before 7am). Was a bit disappointed that no bottled water was available in the room, and the lobby was locked before 8am and after 9pm when we wanted to get a drink. The coffee maker has water tasting of coffee, which is not ideal for non-coffee drinkers like myself. Toothbrushes not provided. My emails prior to the stay went unanswered. It was suggested that we pay $20 for laundry, and we had to ask multiple times where they either told us it was too early / too late and then to look for housekeeping to ask on our own. Night time is quiet but day time is noisy once housekeeping commences, and in the afternoon we had several calls and knocks on our door from housekeeping when we were trying to rest. They did not wait for us to answer but kept calling. I'm likely to choose a different place for future stays. There are several in this same location that are not as costly. I only chose this because the reviews seemed great.

recommend! A very romantic hotel in Carmel. It is a 12-minute walk from the small street in the city center and a three-minute walk from the beach. You can watch the orange beach sunset in the room. The building and decoration of the hotel have a Spanish style. There is a garden with good vegetation. Many places are suitable for internet celebrities to take photos. Breakfast is very careful. In the evening, there are sangria wine and chocolate cookies. The rooms are relatively small, but the hotel service is very warm

One of the few hotels in Big Sur that allow you to book a one-night stay on a weekend so this is a huge plus. No reception nor staff on site when you check in - keys are left in a key box outside your assigned room (which you will be informed of a couple days before your arrival). If you need help during your stay, your only option is emailing them. Rooms are dated but clean. No dining options on site so either eat before you arrive, bring supplies, or be prepared to drive >20min for the nearest restaurant. Breakfast is left in a cabinet by the parking lot for self help. You get a slice of cake, boiled eggs, fruit and bottled juice. In short, you're paying for location.

There are no attractions around the hotel and it takes 40 minutes to walk by the sea. As a temporary accommodation, if you are on vacation, you will be free from entertainment and leisure. Hotel Wi-Fi is not good, maybe I live on the far side, there is almost no net in the room. The hotel has coffee, bread, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, but it is simple but can be eaten. The customer service was not particularly clean. When I went in, I found black stains on the sheets. The front desk sent me sheets to let me change, saying that the waiters were off work. In short, I feel like a hotel.
