La Playa Hotel

First off I was told like I was gonna get a garden view room. It was a room looking at the street. We paid over $600 for this room. I know it’s a nice hotel but don’t tell me a garden view and look in the street at the same thing. This I wanna make perfectly clear they charge me $200 for amenities that I thought were free and no one told us as we checked into the hotel that this is a charge for all the minutes whether we use them or not Free glass of wine, not chocolate chip cookies, not fruit not breakfast not Shuttle van not I’ve been going to hotels and traveling for a long time never ever did I see something like this before.

Romms are very small for &1,300 per day. Noise is unbearable. Large wedding party without advising the prospective guests. Noise from other rooms is loud. Very late check in. Ocean views are very far and small.

The location is unmatched, staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Rooms are cozy and views are gorgeous. 5 min drive from downtown Carmel. Carmel is one of the best places to bring a dog. BUDS, the restaurant in house, is phenomenal. The breakfast (included) is the best breakfast I’ve had. That alone would make me come back.

Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The property was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was super. All views were amazing. What a gem!
