Review: A Beautiful, Design-Led Oasis in Fisherman’s Village We recently stayed at the Hansar Samui, and it is truly a beautiful property with a thoughtful design. The location is perfect—just a short, pleasant stroll away from Fisherman’s Village, making it easy to explore the local area while still feeling like you have a quiet retreat to return to. The Highlights Dining Experience: The breakfast was a standout. I particularly appreciated having eggs made fresh to order; there is nothing worse than pre-cooked, rubbery eggs left under heat lamps, so this was a huge bonus for me. The Vibe: The swimming pool is lovely, and the beach is kept very clean. The hotel maintains a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of background music. Service & Little Touches: The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved the ”turn-down” service around 5:00 PM, where housekeeping brought little chocolates and water—an adorable touch that made us feel looked after. Facilities: The gym is clean and well-maintained. Crucially for those working remotely, the Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable enough for me to take Zoom meetings without any issues. Room Design: The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning balconies and views. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the large rainfall shower. Room Comfort & Maintenance We did have a significant issue with the bed. The mattresses are very soft, which didn't suit us at all as my husband has a bad back. It made sleeping quite difficult. However, the staff were wonderful and tried their best to accommodate us; they helped remove the mattress so we could sleep on the wooden base with just the mattress topper. While not ”luxury” comfort, it was much better for his back than the soft mattress. We also had a few issues with a temperamental toilet flush, but to the hotel's credit, maintenance was very prompt in coming to fix it each time. Dining & Logistics We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, ordering the Massaman curry and Chicken Panang. While the food was edible, it was just ”okay”—we were perhaps expecting a bit more given how high the quality of breakfast was. That said, the view from the restaurant in the evening is spectacular, and they occasionally have lovely entertainment. One small hiccup occurred when we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to the pier for our trip to Koh Phangan. The driver unfortunately dropped us at the wrong port. We had to quickly catch a Grab to the correct one, but luckily we made it just in time for our ferry. Overall Despite a few minor glitches, this was a wonderful stay. The aesthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, and the professionalism of the staff ensures that any issues are handled quickly. I would definitely recommend Hansar for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxed stay in Samui!

The hotel was excellent. The staff who picked us up from the airport, both for arrival and departure, provided fantastic service. On the first day, we booked a room with a bathroom by the pool and enjoyed complimentary drinks. On the second day, we moved to a beachfront room, which had an amazing atmosphere. Overall, the hotel doesn't offer good value for money and feels more like a 3-star property. 1. The rooms are very small. They're fine for two people, but we saw a family of three trying to squeeze in, and it looked very cramped. Soundproofing is poor; you can hear doors moving in the next room and footsteps from upstairs. There are no bathrobes or slippers in the rooms. 2. When booking, consider the building's location – try to get one away from the restaurant. Otherwise, the restaurant's air conditioning kicks in at 5:30 AM and hums loudly all day. This noise forced us to change rooms, which took a full day. We also had issues with an irritable front desk agent who insisted we check out at 12:00 PM but said our new room wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. We disagreed, but he refused to help and yelled at us. This inappropriate behavior from the agent really soured our vacation. He refused to call a manager and even lied, claiming he *was* the manager. We had to find the general manager ourselves to resolve the issue. Thankfully, we were eventually helped and moved to a new room by 10:30 AM. 3. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety, and there was always enough food. 4. The pool is shallow (1.20m), really only suitable for children. It's also noisy on the grounds during the day. 5. The beach is clean and nice. 6. There are plenty of sun loungers. 7. They organize volleyball games at 5:00 PM. 8. In the evenings, neighboring hotels set up tables on the beach for dinner, but this hotel doesn't offer that. Perhaps if it weren't for the rude front desk agent at the start of our stay, our experience would have been much more positive!

The hotel was excellent We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. It is absolutely perfect for families. The kids’ playrooms are thoughtfully designed with so many options for all ages, which made our children incredibly happy and engaged throughout the stay. The spa area and sauna are outstanding, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing. Even though there was a huge conference taking place during our visit, everything felt perfectly organized and calm. The level of management was truly impressive. A very special thank you to Boss Concierge, who went above and beyond for us. He helped us retrieve a forgotten bag with such efficiency and genuine care. What could have been a stressful situation was handled smoothly and professionally, and we felt completely supported throughout. The entire staff was kind, attentive, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly taken care of. Highly recommended. We will absolutely return

Beautiful looking hotel, quiet and relaxed but also just a short scooter ride away from Fisherman’s village. For everyone confused about the beach situation: there is a long bit of beach by the hotel. The hotel itseld doesn’t have beds on the beach itself, however, the beds are just above and around the pool area that overlooks the beach. If you wanna lay on the beach, in the morning there is high tide so you won’t be having much sand to lay on, still good for a swim. In the afternoon/evening there is low tide so you can put your towel down easily.

The hotel is small and cozy. The staff is very polite and helpful. We had a Thai-style villa, which was excellent with a view of the pool. It had a terrace where you could sit and admire the nature, and the grounds were very green. The breakfasts were good. The sea during the season is calm and very warm, with sandy shores and a shallow entry.

Amari Koh Samui offers a clean, spacious resort-style experience that perfectly balances comfort and convenience. One of its biggest highlights is the direct access to Chaweng Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand ideal for both relaxation and water activities. The resort’s beachfront location means you can enjoy sunrise walks or evening strolls with ease. In terms of location, it’s hard to beat. The property is within walking distance of Chaweng’s main street, where you’ll find lively restaurants, bars, and shops. For more extensive shopping, Central Koh Samui is just about 20 minutes walk, making it incredibly convenient without being noisy or crowded.

Excellent hotel, beautiful and well-maintained. The breakfasts were good. The hotel has direct access to a street with cafes, shops, and currency exchange offices. The rooms are spacious. Since we were celebrating a birthday during our stay, the hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade from our booked room to a suite for the entire duration, which was a lovely surprise! The hotel has one unique feature, which I wouldn't call a downside. The beach at the hotel isn't suitable for swimming; the water is only knee-deep and separated from the sea by rocks (I've attached photos). However, because of this, the pool area is very private, with no passersby. To reach deeper water, you need to walk along the shore for about 10 minutes. We rented sun loungers there for 100 baht for the whole day, and you could also get food and drinks there (much cheaper than at the hotel).

It is a very good place to relax, quiet, peaceful, really relaxing. The accommodation is beautiful, the sunlight, the lights, the air conditioning is cool, everything is good. If I go to Samui again, I will definitely come back to stay again.
