Melia Koh Samui

We extended our stay at the hotel because we liked it so much! We booked a different room category and approached the reception the day before, showed them the new booking, and asked if we could switch rooms immediately, without waiting for the 3 PM check-in. I've already mentioned how lovely the staff are here! They arranged for us to check out and move into the new room simultaneously, and even upgraded our room category! In the morning after breakfast, they were already waiting for us and transferred us to the new room by buggy. A huge thank you! The 'Boat' room category is the closest to the sea. It's cozy, with a veranda and a sofa, and gets a nice breeze. In the evening, it's very comfortable and not hot; we sat outside late into the evening! I've described everything else already. Oh, and today, June 22nd, the beach restaurant reopened after renovations.

The hotel ambiance is beautiful. The swimming pool is clean and inviting. The food at the hotel is delicious, and the beach is lovely. What impressed me the most was the incredibly helpful staff, especially Khun Mac (the manager), Khun K, Khun Ake, Nong Faro, and all the staff at the lobby.

The pool is large and beautiful, but the room facilities are just so-so. Breakfast was decent, and the front desk staff who checked us in was very polite, even offering to help with our luggage when we left. However, the executive lounge dining experience was poor. They didn't proactively offer to take our orders, only mentioning we could order after we had already finished eating. What's more, they asked to see our passports – not mandatory, but who brings their passport to a restaurant? Asking such a question is truly unreasonable and unnecessary, especially since you sent us a welcome letter inviting us to use the executive lounge. If it were truly required, it should have been stated in the letter.

The hotel is excellent, and the staff are wonderful – everyone is very polite, smiles, and is ready to help. They upgraded our room to a private boat-villa, which was incredibly pleasant and very convenient :) A special thank you for that ♥️ The toiletries in the rooms are excellent – Comfort Zone, which I really love. What you should be prepared for is that the sea is slightly less appealing than on other popular beaches – the water is a bit murky, and the tides are noticeable. In my opinion, this doesn't hinder swimming, but it might be a bit unexpected for those visiting the island for the first time. Also, this is a quiet area; there are restaurants and massages available, but not as many as in Chaweng or Fisherman's Village, for example. One more thing I want to mention: August is holiday season for Jewish tourists; they literally make up 70-80% of the hotel guests 👀 They vacation in large families, with small children, and Filipino (or Thai?) nannies ☺️; so, if you want peace and quiet, maximum comfort, and cleanliness in the dining areas – don't choose August for your trip to Koh Samui 🤭🤭

The check-in process was extremely questionable. The woman who checked us in was very arrogant. No matter what we asked her, she replied with a condescending tone. This is not what I'd expect from a five-star service, and I would never return to this hotel just because of her. I spent thousands of euros here and would never do it again.

One of the most beautiful hotels! We've seen a lot, but this hotel is truly gorgeous. Super delicious breakfast, excellent staff who are incredibly friendly! We would definitely come back again.
