"The hotel is quite far from any amenities, but it's very close to the road. Extremely close, in fact. If you're hoping for a peaceful night's sleep, never book a room facing the road. Otherwise, you'll be jolted awake by every sportbike or 'disco on wheels' all night long. That said, the hotel itself is nice. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is excellent! There's a pool, a mini-gym, a restaurant, and well-maintained grounds. The staff are good, no complaints there. Nearby, on the beach, there's a pleasant restaurant that's a bit cheaper and even more interesting. To swim in the sea, you'll need to walk about 300-500 meters. The breakfast isn't amazing, but you won't go hungry. There's a viewpoint nearby with views over all of Chaweng, but you have to walk along the highway to get there."

"The hotel is clean, despite of its old-fashioned look. The room is comfortable (but outside noise comes in easily). The only downside is I gotthe room on building 3 and there's no lift in the building and my room was on the 4th fl. So I needed to carry my luggage up all the way by myself. If you would like to book and have big luggages, you may need to reconsider (or request for the lower floor.) I'm not sure whether there is a lift available in its other buildings."

"What a pleasant surprise! This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at during our Chinese New Year trip to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. While it's not a Banyan Tree, the hotel's service, rooms, and food were all excellent. We had all our meals at the hotel, and even though it's halfway up a mountain, there's absolutely no need to bring your own food. The hotel restaurant serves delicious and affordable dishes; we paid less than 100 RMB per person. I highly recommend the Pad Thai – it's fantastic! Breakfast is à la carte, with tea, coffee, and eggs prepared in various ways. There are also poolside activities with an instructor leading aerobics. You can just lie on a beach chair and gaze at the sea, and our room balcony also faced the ocean. The spa was very reasonably priced. The room was huge; the tatami area in the living room could easily sleep three more people, haha. Besides needing a taxi to go anywhere, everything else was perfect. It's a great option if you're staying in Koh Samui for a longer period and want to pair it with a high-end hotel, or if it's your first time in Koh Samui and you plan on taking island excursions. During Chinese New Year, it felt like it was mostly foreigners, with very few Chinese guests. The front desk staff and servers were all very nice, always ready to pick us up with a buggy or help with luggage. We were even greeted with towels and tea upon arrival – the service was absolutely superb!"

"accidentally booked my room for the wrong date, and unfortunately I couldn’t get a refund or change the booking. However, I really want to thank Trip.com customer service for trying their best to assist me , I truly appreciate their effort and support. They explained clearly that the hotel’s policy doesn’t allow changes or refunds unless processed through them, which I understand. That said, my experience at the hotel itself was quite disappointing. The front desk staff were not helpful during my stay. I also had an issue with the laundry service — I was told it would be ready by 6pm, but it wasn’t. I waited until the next morning and still didn’t receive it. After following up multiple times (about three times), I finally got my laundry. Overall, I’m grateful for Trip.com’s help, but the hotel service definitely needs improvement."

"Seaview suit, the room was very nice but there was a palm tree block a bit of Seaview. Location is 10 mins walk away from central samui shopping mall. The beach was just a footstep away where u could enjoy both pool n beach at the same time, however the beach wasn’t ideal to swim due to the big sea currents (maybe it’s a winter season I think) Breakfast was ok, not many varieties but could get u full."

"This is the best hotel I've stayed at in Koh Samui. It's truly hard to find good accommodation here. This place couldn't be more central; it's a 5-minute walk to a beautiful beach and 2 minutes to the mall. There's a great Tops supermarket nearby, like an upscale grocery store in Russia, but with reasonable prices! 😂 Also, all the nightlife and beach clubs are just a 5-minute walk away. The housekeeping is excellent, every single day! It's very clean. The only downside is that my window overlooked the Central Festival parking lot and the mall itself, meaning everyone could see me. So, the curtains were always closed. All in all, I'm thrilled. Yes, it was a bit tricky to figure out how to get to my room the first time, but it's actually very easy."

GGuest UserPerfect location fr everything u needed.Greenery,clean area overall. Staffs all departments r very friendly which makes u feel welcome here.Room is spacious with comfy bed. The only drawback is the sound of aircon is quite loudly n difficult to adjust(compressor outside behind bath room as well,our room is shino type) For the noise frm beach club next door we didnt really hear it. Bf is quite on average nothing extra.Beachfront is very lovely,nice long beach to walk along. We had only 2 night’s staying here as a drop off frm Koh Tao but we love the stay at this hotel so much n think of make a new booking fr next yr already.  ps; some ppl might get irritated by noise of planes take on n off but that s just fine fr us.

GGuest UserThis became our favourite hotel in Koh Samui — and in all of Thailand. It’s absolutely stunning, with a beautiful traditional Thai vibe throughout. We especially loved the carp pond, and we were lucky enough to have it right outside our room, making it a lovely sight to enjoy each day. The pool area is wonderful, and with the hotel located right on the beachfront, you can easily move between the pool and the sea. Neither area ever felt crowded, and we could always find a lounger. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered plenty of storage, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful — we can’t thank them enough for making our stay so special. The location is perfect too, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and just a short walk to the Lamai Night Market, which we highly recommend for fantastic food. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, and the staff were kind enough to prepare a breakfast bag for our early morning flight. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would 100% revisit on our next trip to Koh Samui.

SStephy007Another Amari disappointing stay. first was amari hua hin and 2nd is this hotel. stayed in amari koh samui for 4nights, we just got back from koh samui a few days ago. location wise sure cant deny that, it's by the beach front, 5 mins drive away from central koh samui mall and walking from the night life but so does other resorts around the area. when you get to the hotel specially after paying so much per night and to be classified as a 5 star hotel, you expect a good service, a 5 star service. Specially when the first point of contact to the customer service is the front staffs, however very disappointing. Most, if not all of the staffs doesnt seem to smile at all. We arrived early so we had lunch first and sure they managed to give us earlier check in at almost 2pm, their check in is at 3pm. we let it go perhaps we were just too tired and sensitive as we just arrived in koh samui and it was humid, however, throughout our stay their customer service was absolutely lacking. VERY LACKING. specially a few staffs driving the buggy service, we even had an accident one time when we were on our way back to the room, one of the driver drove so fast, THEY ALL DRIVE REALLY FAST, and he rammed onto one of the on coming buggy, i was holding my baby so tight. luckily nothing happened to us. same buggy driver who was had a grumpy look the entire stay and we saw him throwing luggages on to the buggy instead of handling them with care. so when you are taking a buggy, tell them to drive slow. the room, we booked a connecting room, which was a mistake. booking 2 rooms would have been cheaper but anyhow, the room was not clean at all, the bathtub was moldy the floors felt dirty and there were alot of mosquitos every single day. first day we arrived we killed 10 mosquitos in one room whats up with that. breakfast had good selections, they have 3 pools around the resorts as it is a big resort best one is the one over looking the beach, kid friendly pool. they have kids room, not that big just a small room.. anyway overall would i come back here in Amari Koh Samui, absolutely NOT. Would i recommend amari koh samui, absolutely NOT. if you want to stay in a beach front, there are alot of beach front resorts near amari and around the area check that out.. they did something nice from my baby;s birthday, decorated the mirror and gave cake so i appreciated that. with kids i would recommend hyatt koh samui, they are friendlier to kids and service is top notch. we moved there after amari THANK GOODNESS

GGuest UserDuring the Chinese New Year, hotel prices were outrageous. I unexpectedly booked this hotel, which had very few Chinese guests, and the price was very reasonable. To my surprise, the rooms were quite good, spacious, and both rooms had small balconies. The hotel environment was also nice, with two swimming pools, one by the sea and one outside the villas. The rooms were generally clean, but the air conditioning hadn't been cleaned in a long time; you could see a layer of dust in the vents. The hotel breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not much choice or variety, and no kids' meals, which wasn't very friendly for picky eaters. The hotel is within walking distance of a local restaurant with good reviews (recommended on Xiaohongshu for beautiful sunset views). Although most staff didn't speak Chinese, they were very enthusiastic. Except for one male front desk staff member wearing glasses. When checking in, I mentioned my early flight and was advised to pre-order a breakfast box the day before. However, this staff member kept trying to get me to book a car (a private van costs 700, the hotel charges 1000). I said three times that I wanted to order breakfast, but he acted as if he didn't hear me. It wasn't until I said I wasn't booking a car and just wanted breakfast that he told me to go eat at the restaurant myself! He had a disdainful attitude throughout. I've been to so many countries and so many hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered such terrible service.

GGuest UserI highly recommend staying in a beachfront room or higher if you choose this hotel; other room types are not worth it (the square in the picture is beachfront, and even the 'beautiful sea view' room we stayed in for one night wasn't great). I also wouldn't recommend staying during the rainy season. The only time this hotel feels worth it is when you're in a beachfront room with an unobstructed sea view. The common areas are very limited, we didn't even check them out and don't know if there's a beach. The room facilities feel quite dated, the breakfast was very mediocre, and the service was just okay. However, on a sunny day, the beachfront rooms with their direct sea views and the rooftop sea view restaurant can make the stay worthwhile. The main meals at the restaurant were good.

GGuest UserGarrya Tongsai Bay Samui is one of those places that stays with you. What really makes the difference is the people. The service is excellent, but more importantly, it feels sincere. The staff are genuinely kind, always smiling, always present, and somehow they manage to make everything feel easy and natural. You never feel rushed or overlooked, just quietly taken care of. Special thanks to ”mamy” the fruit lady at breakfast that is a pure expression of joy and the Yoga and Muay Thai instructor. The facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, but without feeling stiff or overdesigned. Everything works, everything feels comfortable, and there’s a calmness to the whole place that makes you slow down almost without noticing. Rooms, pools, spa, restaurants, all of it feels thoughtfully done. The setting is something special. Surrounded by greenery and right on a peaceful bay, it feels private, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. You hear the sea, the wind in the trees, and very little else. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax. Nothing here feels forced or flashy. It’s just consistently good, warm, and balanced. A place you leave feeling better than when you arrived. Can't wait to be back to this special place.

GGinny_Beautiful looking hotel, quiet and relaxed but also just a short scooter ride away from Fisherman’s village. For everyone confused about the beach situation: there is a long bit of beach by the hotel. The hotel itseld doesn’t have beds on the beach itself, however, the beds are just above and around the pool area that overlooks the beach. If you wanna lay on the beach, in the morning there is high tide so you won’t be having much sand to lay on, still good for a swim. In the afternoon/evening there is low tide so you can put your towel down easily.
