TTrip.com local guidesThis is honestly the best hotel in Myanmar. Travelled the world but honestly still the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in ever. It’s easily worth $500 a night. The housemaids are very detailed in what they do and everything is just so nice and in place. Just Perfect here.

Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon.
Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements.

GGuest UserI stayed at Melia with my family and from check in to check out we had a fantastic stay. Most of the staff were really obliging and helpful with a special note to Coe and her team in the Market Restaurant who ensured our breakfasts meals were always comfortable and our needs catered for. The hotel is situated near the picturesque Inya Lake and we had a Lake view room which made the morning wake up extra special. Melia is also next door to the Myanmar Plaza mall where there are plenty of shops, including a super market and the top floor has an extensive food court. Though if you wished to stay and eat at the hotel there are a number of restaurants in the hotel serving outstanding dishes. For the amenities there are a number of bars and a lounge on the top floor - though this is only available to those who have a specific room. During our stay we also made use of the swimming pool and the gym. Both very clean and well maintained with the gym having a good variety of equipment and fresh towels and water to hand. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and should we return to Yangon, Melia is a place we would certainly consider staying at again.

GGuest UserVery good and clean hotel, the hotel entrance is hard to find for the first time visit but staffs are welcoming, and you have to climb small stairs even after reaching guest floor by elevator, which I didn't like when I was tired from walking, there are water servers near guest rooms to fill in cold water anytime, breakfast quality is superb and you get air-blended milk tea, the meatballs at noodle counter are tasty and recommended, yet orange juice or fruit juice quality is not good compared to other 3 star hotels in Yangon. Bed quality is best of best so I slept very well

GGuest UserAs one of Asia's three most iconic hotels, The Strand is well worth a stay, regardless of Yangon's inherent challenges.
The hotel itself exudes a strong sense of history, and upon entering the room, a subtle woodsy aroma fills the room. While the room doesn't come with a kettle, coffee, or tea bags, hot water, coffee, or tea are readily available at the front desk. Breakfast is also available on a à la carte basis.
The amenities are worthy of a heritage hotel.
The hot water for showers was sometimes insufficient, but overall, the benefits outweighed the disadvantages.

IIsfp-Solo TravelerEverything was good👌👌👌😍💙…The only downside was that you might feel too lazy to go out or sightsee because the hotel room was very comfortable, and it was extremely hot outside😅 —- You could just stay in your room, enjoy the view, go for a swim, or have a spa day….
The breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and they even changed some of the dishes the next day. My favorite was the sauna—it was really good. I also loved the hot shower, as it didn’t turn cold even after being on for a long time😍
The massages were great, and the prices were reasonable…. The staff were very helpful and kind…. There were occasional power interruptions, but they only lasted a few seconds since the hotel’s backup power kicked in immediately…
+ Although it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, you can take a Grab—it’s affordable and the best option since it gets really hot during the day….

The room was also kept clean.
The location was convenient for my activities, and the breakfast was very neat and delicious, so I was very satisfied.
It was especially nice that they allowed me to eat from 6 in the morning.
Reception staff, security staff, other miscellaneous staff, and room cleaning staff all smile at the same time.
I had a very comfortable stay for 5 days thanks to the friendly and friendly guidance.
I stayed at the Melia Hotel in August 2023, and I think it was a much more satisfying hotel than there.

GGuest UserComfy room and big bathroom (the shower is amazing!). The WiFi is very unstable. There a lot of options for the breakfast, but the western section isn’t so good (at least they have bread and eggs). The YaYa’s menu is delicious, and the room service is fast. All the staff is very helpful.
