The Location of this Hotel is amazingly convenient, the room is clean and well sized and one of the key highlights was that they took note of the special comment: It was me and my wife's honeymoon and they prepared something small but a special and sweet gesture for us that really set them apart.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a greater Honeymoon trip around Greece and Turkey, by time time we got to AD Athens Luxury Room and Suites, they were our 4th stop for the honeymoon. We were at Cappadocia, Mykonos, Santorini prior all the hotels with about 3-4 days stay. When doing the booking, I made a note to indicate that this was our honeymoon trip hoping to get a small special surprise for my wife (she didn't know) something like, flower petals on the bed, or a towel that was nicely folded into a special design. Honestly nothing big or fancy. The other 3 hotels in the stops prior, I booked even more ”luxurious” rooms, spending up to $700 SGD a night at one of the locations but none of them ever did a small gesture to commemorate our special trip. Kudos to the Team at AD Athens for their attention to detail, it really means alot to me and my wife, we even brought back the Champagne Cork to remember this gesture.
Apart from their service, the location and cleanliness of the room is top standard. It was our first time in Greece so we were abit more cautious and arranged an airport transfer with the hotel (you can do that they will help you seamlessly execute it) but on hindsight, we should have just taken the subway. It is literally right outside the station and by the Parthenon site, making it really accessible to food options, sight seeing and even shopping.
Definitely a great hotel for first timers in Athens and I have no complaints about my stay.

MiraMe has the BEST shower we have ever experienced. THE BEST SHOWER! It comes with four different ' heads ' and the water pressure is extremely powerful so taking a shower after a hot day in Athens was an absolute joy. Usually the rainshower found in most hotels is weak, but MiraMe's jets are very forceful and steady water temperature. The other three ' heads ' are one for the chest, one for the butt and one for the legs. Then there is also one separate hand held shower head on the side. The shower room is spacious and drainage is smooth, and the door seals perfect so there is no worry of a leak. We cannot claim to be hotel experts but for the 30+ odd years of travelling and having stayed in over 60 hotels in many cities, we can vow loud and clear that MiraMe has really sourced the BEST shower model, and other hotels, even other leading hotels in the world should dump theirs and change them into MiraMe's.
Locationwise, MiraMe also is very good. The main shopping districts are just 10 mins walk away where you can find famous brands as well as plenty of shoe shops. In the area are major bus stops , great variety of restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, pharmacies and other nice hotels.
The room we had booked is ' deluxe family room with balcony ' that has a short flight of stairs leading to an attic for the 3rd person. It is a nice nook up there for some privacy with a bed and a sofa and an individual air con that provides a comfy temp. The balcony is small and not much view so we hardly used it. Breakfast is provided up on the rooftop bar cum lounge, where a young staff manned the place and served freshly made breakfast cooked to each guest's order every morning. The rooftop has a nice open view of the Acropolis and has very nice updated music that is cool but not too loud and wild.
They also have a bar on the G/F serving drinks. The staff are all young and pleasant, polite and helpful and they try their best to help with restaurant bookings and recommendations etc.
MiraMe is a clean and modern boutique hotel that provides sufficient toiletries to make the stay comfy and carefree. Housekeeping is discreet and the bedding is all clean and white, bath and hand towels and floors and things we touch are basically clean. Again, we cannot praise enough their wonderful shower that has to be the BEST in the whole world.
The hotel is in a quiet street but in a very safe neighbourhood, so even if you return late everyone feels very secure and safe.

Exceptional hospitality in the heart of Athens
I had a fantastic stay at Philippos Hotel! The location is unbeatable—literally steps away from the Acropolis Museum and the metro station. For anyone interested in tours, there is an 'Athenian Tours' office right across the street, which is very convenient and enjoy the Acropolis view from the rooftop.
The Standout Service:
The staff truly made my trip special. The male receptionist who welcomed me was incredibly nice and accommodating. Not only did he help me carry my heavy luggage upstairs, but he also spent time explaining the room, the Acropolis area, and suggesting great places to visit. On a day when I arrived and it was raining, he even thoughtfully offered me an umbrella. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee served from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Even when the hotel was busy, everything felt very organized and clean.
The Room & Breakfast:
My room smelled wonderful, and the queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The washroom was clean and equipped with a hairdryer and toiletries. Breakfast was another highlight—it was very full and packed with a great assortment of breads, salads, sweets, juices, and coffee.
Things to Consider:
Stairs: The staircase is not very suitable for people with large luggage or mobility issues. While I was helped at check-in, the receptionist wasn't available when I was leaving, so I had to carry my heavy bags down the stairs by myself.
Amenities: Note that while they provide basic toiletries, there were no toothbrushes or slippers, so you should pack your own.
Smoking: For those who smoke, it is permitted outside the hotel and on the rooftop.
Overall, a solid 4-star experience thanks to the wonderful staff and perfect location!”

Great hotel for the price I paid. It was clean and had everything I needed. Good views of the Acropolis. It is located a short walk from Monastiraki Station. Room was spacious, clean and quiet despite being in a busy location. Breakfast was sufficient and tasty. I would stay here again!

Anonymous UserI stayed there in February 2026. It's in a perfect location for visiting the Acropolis.
I knew from reviews that the facilities were a bit old, but it was perfectly acceptable. Above all, the cost performance was excellent.
I also appreciated that slippers were provided.
There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so I had no problems during my stay.
I didn't go to the rooftop bar, but the view looked great.

I was so excited to learn the Attalos hotel is very central to everything! The front desk was very attentive and gave me lots of information about this fabulous area in Athens. I got some delicious breakfast up the block. I perchased a warm jacket for 10eu. In a second hand store. Goodwill Greco style! Im always cold. Even in 70 ‘ temp. Florida aclimated lol I’m here alone meeting friends. I feel very safe and would recommend it to anyone who is solo! Kali Taxidi! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Quite modern entrance hall and room (bathroom for disabled was not our choice). Reception friendly and provided good recommendation for late dinner.
The first morning I woke up by very loud cleaning personnel. Walls are paper thin and door not soundproof. You hear everything.
Breakfast terrace with nice view. Pool terrace too small and only available for some hours if slot pre-booked.
Music, food and shisha on the rooftop club/restaurant quite okay.

samanthalummmmI just spent 4 nights at Bedbox Hostel in Athens, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is super convenient, the beds are comfy and clean, and the common areas have a really friendly vibe. The staff were incredibly helpful, always ready with great local tips. It's excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it for backpackers and budget travelers.

Great location & good service. Unfortunately, individual room temperature adjustment isn't possible, which made the room far too warm. Even with constant ventilation, it couldn't cool down (outside temperature approx. 13-24 degrees Celsius). A kind cleaning staff member provided us with a fan, but its noise didn't contribute to better sleep quality.
The 'air conditioning' (a central system, adjustable only by a dial, not by temperature) unfortunately only heats until May and couldn't be turned off. The TV only has satellite and isn't internet-enabled (no HDMI ports could be found either).
The breakfast was very delicious and varied, offering everything from vegetables, salad, fish, and meat to pancakes, muesli, yogurt, and fruits.
Coffee could be obtained from a machine during breakfast. However, for those who enjoy good coffee, this machine is not recommended. Additionally, the hotel has a gym & a sauna. The latter, contrary to our assumption, is not included in the hotel costs and must be paid for separately (€15 for 30 minutes). On the hotel's rooftop terrace, there are a total of 4 'Hot Tubs,' three of which were functional. These can be used free of charge and without booking (approx. 37.5-40 °C).
The gym features a pull-up bar, two cable towers, dumbbells (6-30kg), a treadmill, and an elliptical trainer. There was also a stationary bike, but it was broken.
Overall, the hotel offers a great location, but due to the temperature issue, the nights were unfortunately not at all restful. A shame.

Guest UserThe hotel was clean, with with excellent service.
Just a little far from the main centre for walking on hot days. - about 30 minutes, but fine in cooler weather.
However, only a short walk to the hop on hop off bus stop & taxis were not expensive, about €7.
