The courtyard is very beautiful. The boss's care can be seen everywhere. The boss is very warm and friendly. The lady is beautiful and kind and made us delicious coffee. The room is clean and tidy. Disposable slippers, earmuffs, eye masks, disposable bath towels, disposable toilet mats, toiletries... too complete. The main thing every day is to go around looking for food and being in a daze... This place happens to be on the main street and is not far from the food stores and tie-dye stores where you can check in. If it weren't for the lack of vacation, I really want to stay longer.

Guest UserThis is absolutely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious and bright. I booked two rooms for one night. The rooms have a smart home system and great hot and cold water pressure. Each room has a complimentary minibar and many thoughtful amenities. The hotel is located in the old town, in a superb location. The owners are warm and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

To escape the frenzy of Kunming ancient town, we took a 2.5 hr train ride to Weishan - an authentic, uncommercialized old town with the splendid Yuan Chuang Yi Su hotel.
The bed is super comfortable, and the window seat great for relaxing after a truly hot shower. Sanitized towels are delivered daily in sealed bags and CGTN for foreign guests is available on a huge TV!
Yuan Chuang Yi Su's owner is a Mensch. His fluency in English and passion for his adopted town enriched our China trip. He sensed my vegetarian needs and whisked me off to the local market!
Yuan Chuang Yi Su is the smartest, but the least expensive of our 28 day trip in Guangdong - Yunnan.
We relished the smart set-up, the gleaming interior and delightful neighborhood of eateries.
The hotel is truly a train-rider's dream: just 25 minute walk away from Weishan Railway station and 5 minutes from the inexpensive tourist buses that take you as far as Weibaoshan and East Lotus Village.

As an SLH hotel, I had high expectations before arriving, but was ultimately disappointed.
However, it's not all bad. The following met my expectations:
1) Good maintenance and design of public areas
2) Xiao Gong from the restaurant was proactive and attentive to detail.
3) The alpaca feeder at the construction site in the backyard saw me looking at the alpacas through a gap in the back and pointed me through the bamboo grove in the construction area, even bringing me carrots to feed them (the message in the check-in group said carrots would be placed on the table, but they weren't).
The following did not meet my expectations:
1) Poor soundproofing in the room, and limescale in the sink and stains on the bathroom walls;
2) I needed tea sets to send a message, but they weren't delivered to my room even after two days, and I was too lazy to send another message;
3) Besides the aforementioned food and beverage service and the shuttle service at the North Gate of the Old Town, there were no other services, and no proactive service was provided. The card making experience was completely self-service; you had to find the paper and ink yourself from the cabinet, resulting in the card making tools and boards being in poor condition.

This is a newly renovated boutique guesthouse from 2025. On the day of check-in, the owner personally gave us a warm welcome. It felt just like coming home, with no sense of restraint. The guesthouse is built around a large courtyard, featuring a two-courtyard layout with Ming and Qing dynasty-style decor. There are plenty of public areas, and it even has its own parking lot!
The room was a pleasant surprise; it was incredibly well-equipped, and all the amenities had the hotel's branding. I stayed in an air-conditioned room which was very comfortable, and it was peaceful at night. The hotel is also only 300 meters from Weishan, making it super convenient for exploring the ancient city. I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Weishan!

Want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Just come to this ancient house! The old house is as old as the old, the wooden floor is stepped on with a gentle sound, the continuous wood carving and brick carving are exquisite, and every detail is the charm of time precipitation. The homestay is simple and elegant, there is no extra decoration, there is no need to catch the itinerary here, no need to do a strategy, you need to enjoy the slow time, this healing and comfortable experience, let me stay for two nights and still reluctant to leave, I will definitely come again next time!

The room was spacious with a solid wood bed that I slept very comfortably. The shower water was hot and the pressure was good. The courtyard view was particularly pleasant, making it suitable for long-term stays. It's also close to the main street of the old town, making it convenient for getting around—just a 3-5 minute walk. Restaurants and tea shops are also very convenient. #Clean and Tidy#Service: It rained that day, and the owner provided free umbrella rentals. #Location and Transportation: 3-5 minutes from the old town's fabric market. #Room Facilities: Newly opened, everything is very new. #Breakfast: Breakfast is provided, and you can order à la carte. #Parking: Very convenient, only a couple hundred meters from the hotel. #Room View: A tranquil style, you can see the courtyard from your room—very comfortable. #Value for Money: Excellent value for money.

No toilet paper. Just thin tissues.
The room has little to none surfaces to put your own stuff. Room had no table, I had to ask for one, and it was delivered. So at least they tried to deliver an acceptable service.
You can hear how your neighbors from all sides take shower or use toilet. Constant sound of loud running water. Sound isolation is terrible. After listening to all that for few hours, I packed my stuff and went to a nearby hotel.
Would not recommend to anyone.
