"We booked the one-night, two-meal package. For dinner, we chose the Japanese kaiseki, but it was quite ordinary; I almost fell asleep eating it for an hour. The only thing truly delicious was the sashimi. However, the French breakfast the next morning was highly recommended, especially the croissants – they were excellent. The restaurant also offers a kids' menu, which our 2-year-old loved. The hotel's souvenir shop is great, perfect for gifts, and they even provide extra hotel bags. When we checked in, they might have seen our baby and gave us the best room type on the third floor, which was really nice. The hotel's shuttle service was superb. We wanted to buy milk for the baby, but the hotel couldn't provide it. The nearest convenience store was in Hakone-motohakone. The hotel proactively offered to have a driver take us there to buy it in the evening, which was incredibly thoughtful and customer-friendly. Their spa has won awards, but I found out too late. When I tried to book, I wasn't successful. The person who answered the phone for spa bookings couldn't speak English and told me to go up directly to book. However, when I got there, there was no one, and the door was closed. I hope the hotel can improve this aspect. Regarding the shuttle bus back to Hakone-Yumoto, I read reviews saying you need to book a day in advance, but that's not true; you can book on the same day. Many people say the transportation here is inconvenient, but I actually found it perfectly fine because of the business shuttle service. On the first afternoon, I recommend taking the pirate ship down to the hotel. Then, on the second morning, take the shuttle to Hakone-motohakone, where the Narukawa Art Museum is directly opposite. Going early means you completely avoid the crowds. I will definitely stay here again next time to properly experience the hotel's afternoon tea and spa. I also heard the garden is beautiful but didn't have time to fully explore it this time, so I'll save that for my next visit."

"This is a gorgeous hotel! We spent two nights here in April 2026. When we booked, we opted for the package with breakfast and dinner. Definitely the way to go! Every meal was delicious and plentiful! We had fantastic risotto, local fish, and desserts that were works of art. We loved the private onsen on our balcony and the spectacular views down to Lake Ashi. The staff was professional, responsive, and as we knew very little Japanese, very patient with our limited language skills. The hotel has a shuttle van to Odawara Station, which works perfectly. Be sure to book it in advance, though, because it seats only six people or so. I would love to go back here someday. It really is a magical place."

"We arrived by public bus, so it was relatively convenient, but the hotel's shuttle service wasn't very well-organized. Dinner was a bit different from what we expected, leaning more towards Western tastes, while breakfast was a rich buffet. The only minor flaw was that the stopper for the private hot spring drain tended to get stuck. The river sound was quite loud, possibly due to it being flood season. However, once we closed the balcony door at night, it was perfectly quiet. Thank you for the honeymoon gift, we were very happy about it."

View: ★★★★ Hot Spring: ★★★★ Restaurant: ★ When I checked in, I was asked to choose between 18:00 and 19:30 for dinner, and they said, "19:30 is busy today," so I chose 18:00, but throughout the meal, they kept telling me, "The next one is at 19:30, so..." I was surprised at their manners, which are unthinkable even in an izakaya, even though they weren't eating at a pace that would exceed the time limit. I don't think many people expect a resort hotel to have only an hour and a half for mealtimes, so I wish they had said, "If you choose 18:00, you will only be able to eat for an hour and a half" when making the selection. If this is a hotel like a conveyor belt that has an average meal time of an hour and a half, it would be helpful if they could state this on their website. Room: ★★ I could hear loud voices from the hallway into the room. I think the walls are not very thick. The floors in the rooms were also noisy and sagging, and instead of solid wood, they had a cheaply renovated feel to them, with marble sheets affixed to thin wooden floors. ■Front Desk ★★★ The woman at the front desk was wonderful, and her explanations were just right. Regarding the man at the time of check-in, I think it would be even better if they could make the improvements I wrote about in the "Restaurant" section above regarding the choice of meal times. ■Book Cafe ★ There were only a few books, and the selection was a beginner's magazine on "how to look at XX art," so it didn't seem very tasteful, and the coffee came in a paper cup from the machine, so I decided to read a book I had brought with me in my room."

"Took my elderly parents here for a one night stay. We took the shuttle bus from the train station for 200 yen a person, but if I were to go again, I would opt for a taxi instead as the busses are small and can be hard to bring multiple pieces of luggage on. I thought both dinner and breakfast would be at the buffet, but the check-in receptionist said dinner was a traditional Japanese kaiseki meal. As my parents can be picky eaters with foods they are unfamiliar with, I asked to switch to the buffet so they can eat whatever they want. The room was large and had an a private open-air onsen bathtub. The shower next to the bath is a bit finicky as the water is on a timer. You have to press the lever every few seconds to get the shower running again. That day was chilly, so showering was a bit cold, but the onsen more than made up for that. We did not visit the public bath or the public onsen, so cannot comment on those. Yukatas are provided inside the closet in your room. Some guests chose to wear them everywhere inside the hotel, some did not. It is down to your personal preference. The dinner buffet was quite nice, with lots of Japanese and Western food and drink options, including alcohol. While we were out at dinner, the staff came into our room and laid out a futon on the floor in additional to the 2 twin sized beds. The breakfast buffet had somewhat fewer options, but it was still good."

"This was my third stay here. Last time I stayed for about a week, but this time it was just two nights. I appreciate the casual atmosphere more than a luxurious one, which I think is a good thing (even though it's a bit pricey for me). The building, rooms, and location truly offer an experience and an escape that's worth more than the price. My only suggestion for improvement is regarding the restaurant's dinner menu, which only offers wood-fired dishes and French courses. If there were à la carte options or individual dishes, solo travelers like myself could enjoy the food more. The taste was good, though I understand preferences vary. As for service, the plates were cleared a bit too quickly – it felt like they wanted me to leave sooner. While not all foreign staff were problematic, there were times when language barriers made for unpleasant experiences. However, the Japanese staff were consistently wonderful, providing excellent service and kindness. I was particularly impressed by a staff member named Kondo; I'd try to poach them for my own company! Overall, it was another great stay, thank you! And I was pleasantly surprised to see a deer in the backyard, haha."
