"I stayed here for one night last winter and thought it was okay, but this August, they gave me an end room, and as soon as I entered the bathroom, there was a strong smell of stale sweat. Also, the room I had last time had a long table by the window and a bench by the bed, which this time was replaced by a short table and a single chair. The front desk apologized, saying the hotel was full that night, but I could still see rooms of the same price category available for booking on Trip.com. I secretly complained that the front desk staff that night lacked flexibility and was too stubborn to give me a clean room. I had originally planned to stay two nights, but because I really disliked the room I was assigned and the front desk's stubbornness that night, I canceled my second night's reservation before midnight. For the second night, I stayed at Park Inn, which was significantly better than ibis, and even cheaper. You can check the pictures on Trip.com for a comparison and you'll see. Should I thank that ibis front desk staff for this? Actually, other ibis front desk staff are very nice; it was just the one I encountered that night who was so speechless,好像 an non-English speaking male. But I should thank him for making me switch to Park Inn the next day and discovering a hotel I liked."

"Great value for money and location, location, location! Aberdeen House is fantastic value for money. I stayed for 3 nights on the second floor, the room was clean, comfortably warm and despite being located on a major road the outdoor noise was minimal and did not disturb sleep. Staff were helpful and offered to clean the room daily. There is a kettle, tea, coffee and sachets of uht milk and sugar in the room. What makes Aberdeen House stand out is it's location, directly opposite the train and intercity coach station and around the corner from the ferry terminal for the Orkney and Shetland Isles. It is also directly opposite Union Square Shopping Mall with international brand shops and wide choice of cafes and restaurants and a Cineworld cinema. There are also a wide range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants nearby."

"The Chester is close to town and a quality hotel that we suspect would be rated higher if it had the gym and pool and spa that many five star hotels have. But, they are not needed. The room was a good size, with all necessary facilities. The common areas of the restaurant are of high standard and the food was excellent. Our room had a couple of minor issues. The shower door leaked a littlw, but caused no problem. The deadlock on the door dod not engage, but we were not concerned as there was a locked door between our door and the public areas. We will happily use again, particularly as the prices were reasonable and the standards and quality were very good in our experience."

"We recently went on a family trip and stayed for two nights, making two separate bookings. On the last night, the receptionist informed us that our room was not included for children. However, the website clearly stated that children under 12 stay for free. I didn't want to argue in front of the kids, but despite the receptionist's smile, we didn’t feel welcomed at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning."

"It provides the usual Premier Inn room and a quiet night's sleep. However wi-fi is awful and really this should now be a basic expectation. Rather odd out of town location and best enter the name of the Premier Inn as the postcode doesn't work sending you onto a council estate. The area is okay and there is plenty of parking, but they could tidy up the car park area. Using a broom and keeping bushes neat is not a difficult task. Didn't have breakfast but a rather small breakfast room was all that was provided so perhaps look elsewhere for the breakfast."

"Economical, comfy bed, great shower, I like wardrobes without doors/drawers for overnight stays as I often leave early and it's easy to check you haven't forgotten anything. Tips - Decaf Coffee or Tea is important to me, no problem when I requested some at reception and a couple of plain biscuits with the in room drinks cost pennies but would just help to finish off a very pleasant stay."
