The Station Hotel

Upon arrival we were given a room in n 4 th floor , assuming we booked via ******* but we did via trip.com . We went to 4 th floor but the room doesn't exist. We tried finding it but no luck . Called reception they said those 4-5 rooms are separate rooms to the hotel and have special access. We than went down with luggage and had to go through the kitchen/ dining area separate entrance to take a back lift that looks for merchandise rather than guests and very old to go to third floor than have to do 2 stair cases to get to 4th floor walking no lift. The room is literally the antique, the top of the building, very hot and has a small window that the birds massively pooed on. Unable to open otherwise birds are inside. To be fair the room is old but clear, had fridge and amenities for coffee tea and double bed, closet, and a bathing tub, but obviously much older. I think those rooms are for the people who get good deals via trip.com

Clean room, close to station and easy to locate, spacious, excellent service.

This is an old hotel and is not perfect BUT value for money, location, staff, amenities and ambience makes one forget the minor flaws an older property can present. Example. Lift only goes to 3rd floor but I was on the 4th floor. The magnificent staircase made me want to climb all four floors. See attached pictures below.

Just an overnight between a train from Thurso and another towards Plymouth. Evening meal and breakfast all good. Room and beds also good. Window of room in poor condition and propped open with a stone - needs attention.

Can be cleaner, some rooms are dusty Internet connectivity can be improved Staff are good

The hotel room was a bit tired, but for the price it was WhT I expected. The too. Was clean and staff were all friendly and professional. Tv didn’t work and it was replaced quickly.  No food or drinks purchased.

Great location in front of train station . Clean rooms . Nice restating downstairs. However can be noisy at evening .

Convenient location for this couple who are exploring Scotland via Rail. Nice big and comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast for £9! Can’t do much better than that! The old building has been beautiful preserved, yet enhanced, which was part of the appeal for us.

I had a very good time at the hotel very friendly staff good clean hotel. I would stay here again but possibly in the summer ☀️ the rooms are good with comfortable beds the only thing is the double mattress are two singles pushed together but still comfy the decore is abit outdated but it goes with the hotel. My suggestion would be for a spar or swimming pool
