I’m assuming that this is a busy hotel, and that Travelodge could afford to keep it up to a certain standard and choose not to, but it just feels a bit grubby and unloved! Front door… I assume that it’s meant to be locked at all times. It was not locked at all during our two night stay. This may explain the urine smell in the entrance foyer, and on the stairs up to the first level where reception is. Yuck. Tip…get the lift to avoid this area. The corridors have seen better days. Carpets marked and stained (even worse at the lift areas) and there are many ceiling tiles that are water damaged and need replacing. Random marks on walls in the communal areas and in the rooms need to be addressed. Bathroom in room in need of an upgrade or repair. A bit shoddy. Bed was comfortable. It’s a budget hotel, but there are other budget hotels who do it better.
