Travel to Seoul

Seoul is the lively heart of South Korea. Once a city of ancient palaces and quiet villages, it has grown into a modern capital full of life and energy. Tall buildings and bright lights shine next to traditional houses, temples, and markets. You’ll find stylish cafés, big shopping malls, and tech stores right beside street food stalls and historic sites. With its mix of old and new, Seoul is a city where the past meets the future in every corner.

I'm heading to Korea solo for the last time this year, starting November 4th. 🙋♀️🇰🇷✨

This time, I'll be staying longer and traveling around Korea while working during the day and night.❣️
I usually can't buy snacks because of my luggage,
so I hope I can buy anything I like.🤔

It's Black Friday right now, so I'll probably buy a lot of clothes.😂

If you have any recommended souvenirs, please let me know.👍

It's convenient to "save and like" this post.🤗

⌇ Travel to Korea for the First Time with Confidence! ✈️🇰🇷
8 Tips for a Comfortable Stay in Korea, Learned from 13 Years of Failure and Discovery🌟
⁡
⌇
⁡
I wish I could tell myself from 13 years ago 😂←
I made so many mistakes, panicked, and cried...
But little by little,
I developed a motto and mindset for traveling in Korea✊✨
⁡
Now, my stay has become much smoother. 🤔💭
⁡
⁡
\\For those planning to visit Korea✈️//
I've compiled a list of things you should know to make your trip easier, based on my own mistakes and experiences. ✍️
⁡
Things I've learned firsthand over the past 13 years traveling back and forth between Japan and Korea😂💦
⁡
To avoid any problems or regrets on your trip to Korea! I've compiled 8 things I particularly pay attention to and keep in mind. 🌟
⁡
I hope your first trip to Korea is worry-free and enjoyable. 🙏✨
⁡
⌇
⁡
[Money Situation💸]
Some stores don't accept credit cards!
Make sure you have plenty of Korean won on hand. 💡
⁡
🥲 {The currency exchange was closed, and I didn't have enough won to charge my transportation card! !!
I almost couldn't get back to the hotel. 🚨
Thanks to the help of my kind unnie and ajussi, I got home safely.
⁡
⁡
[Inventory Situation🛍️]
Even if a product isn't on the shelves and you think, "Oh no, it's sold out!?", don't give up. 🥹
⁡
I was about to give up, thinking they didn't have it, but I took a chance! When I asked the store clerk,
they sometimes said, "Yes, we have it," and even put it in stock ✊← Be brave
⁡
This happens a lot, especially at airports where merchandise sells well.
⁡
⁡
[Shopping Situation🛒]
If you think, "It's cute! I like it!"
Buy it without hesitation 🛍️
You might come back later and find it's sold out, or it might be gone a few months later.
Trends change so quickly in Korea,
and this is a really common occurrence 😭 I've experienced this so many times...
⁡
"Don't worry about things you don't want,"
so if your heart flutters even a little 🫰💖, it's a chance encounter.
⁡
⁡
[Toilet Situation🚻]
If you're thinking, "Should I go...what should I do?"
Just go! Don't worry if you really don't need to go! ←
This will prevent you from thinking, "I should have gone...🤦♀️" later.
⁡
If you come across a restroom that doesn't have tissues, or you can't even find one...
Just use it when you find one! It's important.💡
⁡
⁡
[Hygiene Issues🦠]
Tissues, especially wet tissues, are essential!
For when you're eating out, sampling food, or getting your hands dirty,
they're the #1 item to have on hand.🌟
⁡
They're also great for wiping off tteokbokki sauce and other things that are hard to remove from your clothes! !
⁡
😂 {I panicked when dakgalbi sauce splashed on my favorite clothes!💦
The waiter quickly brought me some wet tissues with dishwashing detergent or something,
and somehow my clothes were spotless.💡
⁡
⁡
[Lost and Found Issues💍]
After losing my precious ring,
I stopped wearing any jewelry in Korea. I immediately went back to where I thought I'd dropped it, but I couldn't find it...
So now I've made it a point to never take anything I don't want to lose! 🫡✨
⁡
⁡
[Injury Circumstances 🩹]
It was hot, so I wore ankle socks,
but both my ankles got blisters and chafed, and they stung every time I walked. 😭
My quality of life while traveling is surprisingly low...
I'm not trying to be mean,
but I wish I'd worn longer socks to protect my ankles!
I didn't have enough bandages.
Speaking from experience...! 🫡✨Seriously? ←
⁡
⁡
[Road Conditions 👣]
You want to look stylish when you're traveling...
But new sandals and boots are the cause of blisters and chafing! 😭‼ ️
I've fallen over ditches and slopes many times,
and even had my sandal laces snap and break! 💦
I've also had to make unexpected expenses to buy new shoes when I got there...💸
⁡
There are a lot of steep slopes and bumpy roads,
so the sneakers you're used to wearing in Japan are the safest bet!
Here's some advice for a comfortable trip!👟✨
⁡
😭 {I even had the soles of my shoes come off!
A kind shop assistant lent me some glue,
and I managed to hold on until I got home!🙏 Kamsa Kamsa
⁡
⌇
⁡
That's it! These are the 8 things I pay particular attention to this time!🌟
I've introduced them to you!! I hope you have a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable time in Korea! 🫶✨
⁡
I dropped my ring! 💍
My foot hurts! 🦶💦
I can't ride the train! 🚃💨
I should have bought it! 🚃💨
⁡
Don't make so many mistakes like me later on! 😂🙏

I went to try the bibimbap in Myeongdong, a hot topic thanks to its Michelin star rating!

Mokmisanbang (목멱산방)
71, Bugye-ro 20-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul

This restaurant has been featured in the Michelin star guide for three consecutive years, making it a very popular and talked-about spot! ✨✨ Although it's in Myeongdong, it's a bit of a hill, so I recommend taking a taxi. ◎

The meal is packed with colorful vegetables, making it highly nutritious. 🥑
The meat and vegetables were thoroughly mixed together, making it even more delicious! ❣️
The portions are large, so if you have a small appetite, it might be worth sharing!
I also ordered seafood pancakes to go with my bibimbap! The pancakes were crispy and fragrant, a perfect match with the bibimbap. 🙆♀️

It's likely to be crowded on weekends, so be sure to get there early!

I stayed at the popular G3 Hotel Chungmuro!

G3 Hotel Chungmuro
7 Chungmu-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, 04554, South Korea (7 Chungmuro, Jung-gu, Seoul)

This hotel is extremely popular, located in front of Chungmuro Station.

The hotel is also very clean, so I'll definitely be back! ☆

Some of the front desk staff speak Japanese, which is a nice plus! 💛

The room was very clean, but there's one thing to note: the bathroom tends to leak water. ><

I only stayed one night to try it out, but I found that bathing would be a bit of a hassle if I stayed more than two nights. It's great for solo travelers, but those traveling with family or friends might find it a bit stressful. 💦

However, the hotel staff were very kind, and I recommend it for those who prioritize cleanliness! I was happy that the room itself was spacious and clean. ◎
Please try staying there! 💛

Hotels I Stayed at When I Visited Seoul
[HOMES RED MYEONGDONG]

The facilities at this hotel were easily among the best I've stayed at in Seoul!

Here's a summary of the great things about it!

- Self-check-in and check-out machines✅
The machines are Japanese-speaking, so even if you don't speak Korean, the process is easy!

- There's a Wow Pass machine!
This is incredibly convenient for Wow Pass users!
Not having to go out of my way to find the machine was extremely helpful!

- There's a rooftop!
The rooftop offers a great view of Namsan Tower!
It would have been even better if there were chairs or something.😅

- There's a noodle station🍜
There's a station where you can enjoy delicious Korean instant noodles!
The variety was great and it was fun!
Perfect for a late-night snack!

- There's a shared kitchen!
You can cook if you feel like it!
There's also a microwave, so I was able to heat up rice I bought at the convenience store!
There's a freezer, so I was able to store my ice cream there too! 🙆

It's a wonderful hotel with plenty of room to relax and I was very satisfied!

📍2-minute walk from Chungmuro Station
10-minute walk to Myeongdong!

🌟With a police box right next door, it's safe and secure!
Recommended for solo travelers!

Currently, the Wildflower Hill at Olympic Park is turning pink with Kochia Scoparia✨

The lower Kochia Scoparia has turned quite red, while the upper part is still green!
The mix of colors makes it even more beautiful right now🌈

There's also a ginkgo tree path along Wiryeseong-gil near Wildflower Hill, and it's turning yellow!
Before it gets colder, enjoy the autumn weather and visit Olympic Park this weekend🍂

📌Visit Date: October 30, 2025

📍Olympic Park Wildflower Hill
▫️424 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul
▫️Open all day

🏨A must-stay hotel when traveling to Seoul!!
I've stayed here three times already!

📍Location:
Sorago Myeongdong Hotel & Residences
9, Jeonbuk-ro 2-gil, Seocho-si, Seoul

💞Reasons I recommend it:
① Within walking distance of Myeongdong🚶
Myeongdong is just a 20-minute walk away!!
And it's only a 3-minute walk from the nearest station, Chungmuro Station👀
There's an elevator at Chungmuro Station🛗 No need to carry heavy luggage up the stairs!!

② There's a convenience store below the hotel🏪
GS25 convenience store on the first floor! Enjoy convenience store food without leaving the hotel! 🩷
Even if you're tired from sightseeing, you can head straight to the hotel, drop off your luggage in your room, and grab a bite to eat at a convenience store! 👍

③ Japanese-speaking staff available!
Check in by machine!
Japanese-speaking staff are available, so even if you get lost, you can rest assured. ☺️

📷 Photos 1 and 2: Guest room (different room types)
📷 Photo 3: Kitchen included
(Microwave, washing machine, and large refrigerator available)

The Prima Hotel Jongno
46 Post Office Road, Jongno-gu, Seoul

The Prima Hotel Jongno, which underwent a complete renovation in 2024, has become a hot topic among frequent visitors to Korea!
I hadn't stayed at the hotel before the renovation, but I was curious to see what it would be like afterward, so I decided to stay!

It's easily accessible from Jongno, Insadong, and Anguk, so I recommend it for those traveling mainly in these areas. ◎
It's also close to the station, about 4-5 minutes from the station. ◎

The hotel is a typical business hotel!
While it's clean and well-maintained, the rooms are quite small, and not only the rooms but also the bathrooms are quite cramped, so be careful!⚡️
I stayed here for one night with three people, but it felt a little cramped for three people, so it seems best for two people!
If you're happy just to sleep, I'd recommend this hotel, especially considering its cleanliness.

The breakfast menu is quite simple, so I think it's perfect for those looking for a quick and easy meal.

I hope this helps!
