Incheon Airport: Approximately 1.5 hours by bus 6015 or 6001

🇰🇷 Dongdaemun, Seoul, South Korea
"Hotel Stay Inn"
The ultimate value right in the heart of Dongdaemun
A hassle-free hotel near the station with self check-in
· :+:-:+:-:+:-:+:-:+:-:+:-:+:-+:-+:-

"Hotel Stay Inn" is located just steps away from the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Subway Station. Its biggest draw is the highly affordable rates, despite being in a prime location for sightseeing and shopping.

Situated right next to the Dongdaemun area, famous for its night shopping, it’s perfect for travelers who want to stay active late into the night. With kiosk-style self check-in, it’s a hotel where you can stay comfortably at your own pace.

Located on Teheran-ro in Gangnam District, it’s quiet since it’s not on the main street. Right across from the hotel is a GS25 convenience store 🏪, and there are plenty of delicious places downstairs—pork bone soup, BBQ, Andong chicken—all within walking distance.

It’s about a three-minute walk to Gangnam Station, and the Line 2 subway makes it easy to get anywhere. Hongdae, Myeongdong, and Dongdaemun are all on the same line 🚇. You can take the airport bus from Incheon Airport directly here.

On the first floor, there’s a restaurant called Sounds of Apple, open from early morning until 1 AM. It’s perfect to grab a drink downstairs at night before heading back to your room 🍸~ The hotel offers free luggage storage, a 24-hour front desk, a password-secured entrance on the first floor, and keycard access to upper floors, making it very safe for solo female travelers 🔒.

🛏 The loft rooms have a double-height ceiling, so they don’t feel cramped at all. The large floor-to-ceiling windows face the cityscape of Gangnam. The room includes a washer with drying function, microwave, and a smart clothes sterilizer... but the outlets are Korean standard, so remember to bring a plug adapter 🔌

Planning to shoot some content in South Korea's capital? To save you time, I've rounded up the city's most aesthetic spots that are guaranteed to level up your feed, plus quick directions on how to get there.

1. Starfield Library 📚✨
Located right in the heart of the COEX Mall. This is arguably the most recognizable Instagram spot in the city: giant, multi-story bookshelves and floor-to-ceiling windows create a jaw-dropping sense of scale. You'll get the best shots from the escalator or the upper level.
· How to get there: 🚇 Samseong Station (Line 2), Exits 5 or 6. COEX Mall is directly connected to the station.
· Pro-tip: 🕒 Drop by on a weekday morning to dodge the crowds.
2. Bukchon Hanok Village ⛩️🏮
A Seoul classic that perfectly preserves traditional Korean houses (hanoks). The most iconic shot is the narrow, uphill street where you can see modern skyscrapers and Namsan Tower peeking out over the ancient rooftops.
· How to get there: 🚇 Anguk Station (Line 3), Exit 2. From there, it's about a 500-meter walk toward the village.
· Pro-tip: 🤫 Keep your voice down here, as it's an actual residential neighborhood. Golden hour at sunrise or early morning is the absolute best time to go.
3. Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) 🛸👽
A futuristic architectural marvel designed by Zaha Hadid. Its sleek, curved structures without a single sharp angle feel straight out of a sci-fi movie set. The building looks especially stunning at night when it's all lit up, or inside by its mind-bending "endless" staircases.
• How to get there: 🚇 Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2, 4, and 5), Exit 1 (brings you right into the DDP plaza).
4. Ikseon-dong ☕☂️
Easily one of the trendiest neighborhoods in town. It's a charming maze of narrow alleys packed with tiny hanoks that house cool concept cafes and indie boutiques. Literally every storefront is a ready-made photo op (like the famous umbrella cafe or the retro train-themed spots).
• How to get there: 🚇 Jongno 3-ga Station (Lines 1, 3, or 5), Exits 4 or 6. The alleys start just across the street.
5. Seokchon Lake & Lotte World Tower 🏰🌸
The gorgeous area surrounding Korea's tallest building. It's a dream covered in cherry blossoms in the spring and vibrant foliage in the fall. Snapping the fairytale Lotte World amusement park castle with the sleek, mirrored skyscraper in the background is an absolute must for your grid.
· How to get there: 🚇 Jamsil Station (Lines 2 and 8), Exits 1, 2, 10, or 11. The tower and lake are just a short walk away.
Aesthetic Bonus: 🌉 Looking for a grittier, more modern vibe? Head over to the Noksapyeong Bridge. This overpass gives you that iconic, K-drama-famous view overlooking Itaewon with Namsan Tower in the back.
· How to get there: 🚇 Noksapyeong Station (Line 6), Exit 3. The bridge is right above the main road, just a minute's walk from the exit.

This time, I efficiently shopped by dividing my purchases by location ✨

📍Lotte Online Duty Free Shop
→ Department store cosmetics & high-priced items 💄
Purchased KÉRASTASE / KANEBO / DECORTÉ, etc.!
With member discounts + coupons, I got a great deal, about 43% off this time 🥺
Pre-ordering → Airport pickup is great because I don't have to carry luggage around during my trip ✈️
Saving time is a major plus!

📍Lotte Mart (Gimpo Airport Branch)
→ Food & souvenirs 🍜
Bulk purchases of Korean seaweed, Shin Ramyun, gochujang tuna, etc.!
Since it's directly connected to the airport, it's convenient to buy everything at once before returning home ◎
I prefer to buy heavy food items at the mart 🛒

📍MUJI
→ Korea-exclusive items 🤍
Purchased Korea-exclusive soups, canned kimchi, and local food!

There are so many products you don't see in Japan, I always end up staying for a long time 😂
They're stylish and practical, so they're great as souvenirs ✨

For those who want to prioritize both cost-effectiveness and convenience,
"dividing your shopping locations" is highly recommended 🇰🇷

Tell me about your Korean purchases too! 🛍️

A brand new hotel opened in 2024, can’t believe it’s this affordable
Featuring an ultra-high cost performance!
-
📍Located at the intersection of the three main living areas: Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, and Chungmuro, just 5 minutes from the subway, super fast to Hongdae, Gangnam, and Myeongdong 🚇. Right outside the door is a direct bus stop to Incheon Airport and Gimpo Airport 🚌, so convenient

🏨Really love the hotel’s atmosphere, the 18th-floor lounge is open 24/7 for free! Free coffee, tea, and light snacks 🆓, sitting by the window you can even enjoy a distant view of Namsan Tower, the view is amazing~On B1 there’s a free laundry room, communal kitchen, and gym, all the equipment is new and complete

🛏Self check-in is perfect for those with social anxiety! Just scan the code to enter the room, no need to interact with anyone. Huge TV, super comfortable bedding, extra thick blackout curtains, and the toiletries are surprisingly Diptyque (toothbrush and toothpaste not provided, but you can buy them from the vending machine downstairs)

🍴On the basement level there’s a NOSH restaurant, a very cost-effective Korean buffet breakfast, super filling! If you don’t plan to eat at the hotel, there’s a super convenient GS25 convenience store downstairs 🏪, you can buy water, snacks anytime, very convenient

Highly recommended for your first trip to Korea or first solo travel👀

Seoul is dealing with rising prices and hotel rates right now😣😣
Honestly, I usually hunt for accommodations that are even a penny cheaper,
thinking, "I'm just going to sleep there anyway!"🤫 lol

But this time, as a little treat for myself,
I stayed at "Small House Big Door" near Euljiro 1(il)-ga🏨

Since I’ve stayed at so many budget hotels, I could really appreciate the difference.
"Wow, you get all this quality just for paying a little extra..."
Here are the mind-blowing features I just have to share🌿

💡 Highlights

✔︎ The luxury of zero "language barrier" stress
When checking into a hotel for the first time,
you might worry: "Will they speak Japanese? English? Korean?"
There's usually some language anxiety, but
here, you just use a Japanese self-serve kiosk for 1 minute🥹 Super easy!

✔︎ Line 2 "Euljiro 1(il)-ga" is unbeatable
Getting around is way easier from here compared to the Myeongdong Station side!
You can party hard in Seongsu or Hongdae, quickly hop on Line 2 to go back, and
arrive in just a 1-minute walk from the station. The time efficiency is top-tier☺️
Because of this, you might get to spend more time sightseeing than usual🫶🏻

✔︎ Who knew a "separate" bathroom could bring so much joy?
I'm used to stays where taking a shower leaves the toilet soaking wet...
but here, they are completely separated!
It’s a feature Japanese travelers especially love🚽

I'm usually all about traveling on a budget, but
for those trips where you "want zero stress" or "just want to relax,"
this is a must-save spot you should definitely keep in mind🕊️

⁡_________________

📍 Small House Big Door
 @smallhousebigdoor
✔︎ 1-min walk from Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station
✔︎ Right next to Myeongdong. Even after a massive shopping spree, you can dump your bags in your room in 3 minutes!
✔︎ Self-check-in kiosk with Japanese language support
✔︎ "Separate bath and toilet" (a huge plus for Japanese guests!)
✔︎ Spacious, modern, and pristine white!
Plenty of room to walk around, even with your suitcase wide open...!
