The long-awaited cherry blossom season 🌸 Strolling under the pink flower walkway feels amazing, almost like being in Japan. 📍 Kunming
Located in Yunnan Province, Kunming is often called the "City of Eternal Spring." It truly feels like spring resides here.
Right now, at the end of February and beginning of March, everything seems to be in bloom!
The cherry blossoms, wisteria, tulips, apple trees, and so much more are in full splendor.

🫖 Additionally, Yunnan is the birthplace of Pu'er tea.
Over time, all tea made from the large-leaf Yunnan tea tree has come to be known as "Pu'er tea."
That's why there are numerous tea shops and tea cafes here where you can taste and purchase tea.

In Kunming, we managed to visit in one day:
~ Cuihu Park
~ Yuantong Buddhist Temple
~ Kunming Daguan Park-East Park
~ And, of course, stroll through the streets of the old town, stopping by tea shops.

🌸 While tickets to Japan for cherry blossom viewing (hanami) cost hundreds of thousands, you can buy tickets to Southern China for just 7000.

Wishing us all a wonderful spring! 🙏

Kunming Bailian Hotel

I finally discovered a hidden vacation paradise by Yangzong Lake in Kunming 🌿. This hotel is located in the Yangzong Lake Tourism Resort Area of Yiliang County, boasting exclusive lakeside and garden views. It's close to the city yet completely away from the hustle and bustle. Opening the window reveals the vast misty lake view, and this stay experience truly touched my heart 💘!

I was amazed as soon as I entered the room ✨. The cleanliness throughout the space is meticulous, not a speck of dust in the corners, and even the mirror on the washbasin is polished to a shine 🪞! The soundproofing is excellent; closing the doors and windows blocks out the garden sounds outside. Soaking in the private hot spring or daydreaming in the room is completely undisturbed, with privacy at 100% 💯. The room features minimalist Oriental aesthetics, with natural wood paired with transparent floor-to-ceiling windows. The private outdoor hot spring pool is super comfortable—lying in the warm spring water under the starry sky brings an overwhelming sense of happiness 🌟!

Dining at the hotel is pure bliss 🍽️. The breakfast offers a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, and the freshly cooked Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles add a full sense of ceremony. The broth is so fresh that after finishing one bowl, you want another 🍜! For main meals, you must try authentic Yunnan cuisine. The teapot soup is warm and nourishing, and the wild mushroom hot pot is incredibly fresh, with every bite showcasing the true flavor of seasonal ingredients 😋. Afternoon tea paired with Pu'er tea and snacks is delightful—the tea aroma mixed with the sweetness of the pastries, enjoyed slowly on the lakeside terrace, is both lazy and cozy ☕️!

The beautiful scenery around the hotel is just a few steps away 🚶. The Yangzong Lake Ancient Tree Scenic Area is only 196 meters away, perfect for a lakeside stroll 🌊; Kunming Bailian SPA Hot Springs is just 82 meters away, so after soaking in your private hot spring, you can experience different pools in the public area ♨️; the Overseas Chinese Town Golf Club is only 105 meters away, so sports lovers can fully enjoy their game ⛳️. No need to travel far—there’s plenty of fun right around the hotel!

🎁 Here are some little tips~
Booking two weeks in advance is more reliable, and villa rooms with private hot springs are very popular, so be sure to book early during holidays 📅!
It’s recommended to arrange the hotel shuttle from Kunming Changshui Airport; the driver will hold a sign and wait, making it very worry-free. The drive takes about 1 hour 🚗;
Be sure to bring swimwear and a light jacket—swimwear is essential for the hot springs, and Kunming has a big temperature difference between morning and night, so a jacket keeps you warm 🧥;
Don’t miss the hotel’s tea ceremony experience and rainforest SPA. Immerse yourself in Pu'er tea culture and enjoy the traditional Dai massage, which is super relaxing 💆. The full experience will leave you completely relaxed~

The Middle Guesthouse is one of the most famous accommodations for travelers hiking the high trail of Tiger Leaping Gorge. Situated seemingly on a cliff in the middle of the gorge, arriving here feels like you've ascended closer to the sky. Many trekkers departing from Lijiang choose to stay here as a midpoint during their journey, making it a perfect resting spot, just as its name suggests.

I didn't have high expectations for Kunming at first.
But as I walked around… my feelings gradually changed.

The bustling ancient Chinese streets are filled with small shops full of stories, old tea shops, and the fragrant aroma wafting from antique bookstores that seem to have stood still 📚

The food here is just as amazing.
The appearance might be ordinary… but the taste is anything but.

Grilled udder with rose sauce 🌹
The first bite was "Huh?"
The next bite was "I want more!"

Osmanthus flower mooncakes
Delicately fragrant, perfect with tea.

Yunnan braised pork knuckle
Rich flavor, you know it's authentically Chinese.

Yunnan sticky rice 🌈
A local dish of the ethnic groups.
All the colors come from nature 🌿
Both beautiful and meaningful.
Eating it felt like experiencing the real culture.

Sipping tea at Shangshan ☕️
Watching people go by.
Everything slowed down perfectly.

And ending the day with a Peking Opera performance 🎭
A culture that's truly alive and breathing.

This city isn't famous.
But if you come… you’ll understand 🤍

Have you ever been to a city like this?
And then suddenly, you realize
you’ve fallen in love with this city.

Kunming, the city of flowers 🌼
that doesn’t try to be amazing,
but instead leaves a lasting impression.

Every year when April comes, I start to wildly miss Kunming’s jacarandas.
The kind of romance where the whole street is submerged in a sea of purple flowers is unforgettable once you see it, and the afterglow lasts long!

I’ve put together a super practical flower viewing guide, all points personally tested and useful. Sisters planning to chase flowers in Kunming, just save this!

💜 Flowering Period Reference

· March: Flower buds slowly emerge
· Mid to late April: Peak bloom, the best time to see them
· Beautiful all the way until early May, miss it and wait another year

📷 6 Must-Visit Check-in Spots (Real Experience Edition)

1. Jiaochang Middle Road|Top Jacaranda Spot
The entire 1.4 km street is lined with big trees, branches so dense they block the sky, creating an amazing atmosphere. It’s the most photogenic place in Kunming.
Only downside: it’s really crowded!
Recommended to go before 9 AM or after 4 PM, fewer people and no need to squeeze for photos.

2. Along Panlong River|Quiet and Healing
Jacarandas bloom along the riverbank, with emerald water paired with purple flowers, very gentle and soothing.
Few people and peaceful, perfect for a slow walk and photos.
⚠️ Remember to report drone flights, no unauthorized flying.

3. Tiepi Alley|Artsy Little Street
Near Xunjin Street, the whole street has an old Kunming vibe with many cafes.
The trees are a bit taller here; there’s a nearby viewing platform for photos, remember to book in advance.

4. Shangheyuan, Fumin County|Chinese Classical Style
Ancient architecture + jacarandas, niche and elegant, no worries about crowds.
It’s a bit far from the city and food options are limited, bring some snacks before you go.

5. Chuncheng Road|Portrait-Friendly Spot
Low walls + drooping flower branches, very gentle for portrait photography.
But many people take photos here, so be careful and don’t just focus on shooting.

6. Hongjin Road|Truly Hidden Gem
Few people! Few people! Few people!
Flowers mainly gather at the entrance of a residential area, traffic can be a bit heavy. Navigate to Hetang Yue Se community, that section is the densest.

⚠️ Thoughtful Reminders Before You Go

· Wear light-colored clothes for the best photos, white, cream, and light blue all match perfectly
· Choose morning or evening for photos, the light is soft and not harsh
· Want empty shots? You must get up early! Early! Early!
· Kunming’s UV rays are very strong, full sun protection is a must
· Enjoy flowers respectfully: no shaking trees, no breaking branches, let’s protect the beauty together
· Most flowers are by the roadside, watch out for traffic
· Crowds and cars are many, public transport is recommended for convenience

Every spring, you must come to Kunming to see the jacarandas~
This exclusive purple is truly worth a special trip.
