Crystal Orange (Kunming Nanping Pedestrian Street)

Malaysian / International passport holders, please consider carefully. My stay experience was truly awful, I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. First, upon entering the hotel, I immediately noticed obvious renovation dust and construction traces. The overall environment gave a very bad first impression. The lobby decor also completely lacked the quality one would expect from a 'Crystal Hotel,' despite being advertised as four-star; it felt more like a three-star hotel. We booked three rooms in total, and all three had varying degrees of unpleasant odors. Some had a strong BBQ smell, while others had that damp, stale, smelly odor from the bathroom – it was really off-putting 🤢. The most frustrating part was the front desk service. We are from Malaysia, a country with visa-free entry to China, yet the front desk staff actually asked us for our visas, clearly unfamiliar with the check-in process for international travelers. Moreover, checking in with an international passport was incredibly slow. We were dragging a lot of luggage and waited in the lobby for almost half an hour to complete the check-in procedures. The whole process significantly detracted from the check-in experience. The only positive point is probably its convenient location near the old street. Other than that, the environment, room odors, and front desk service were all extremely disappointing. If you are a Malaysian or other international passport holder, I personally advise you to think carefully before choosing this hotel. The overall stay experience does not align with a 'four-star hotel' at all. Highly not recommended. My previous experience at an Orange Hotel in Guangzhou was very good, so I'm surprised the Crystal Orange Hotel turned out to be so terrible 👎🏽. Absolutely a bad review.

Staying at this hotel was great; they even upgraded our room. The front desk lady was very friendly and helped us with our luggage. The room itself was quite spacious. Even though the hotel opened in 2019, the facilities are still well-maintained, which is a big plus. Its location is also very convenient, and the restaurant serves decent food. There's even a laundry room on the 3rd floor.

They upgraded my room, and the hotel's right outside the subway exit, so you don't have to walk an extra step. It's super convenient to head straight back to the hotel after shopping. Also, the hairdryer looked weak but dried my hair really fast. The bathroom shower even has a hidden clothesline, which is really great. I had a very comfortable stay.

The main draw is its convenience – the subway station is right outside the door, and across the street is an old town with plenty of food and shopping options. The room facilities are also good, and the front desk staff are very friendly.

The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep, and you can even enjoy the street view. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again for my next trip. Plus, the clay pot rice noodles next door are delicious!

Overall, my stay at the Orange Crystal Hotel Kunming Wuyi Road (Nanping Pedestrian Street Old Store) was very satisfying. It's located right in the heart of Kunming's busiest pedestrian street, and the subway station (Kunming Wuyi Road Station) is right at the hotel's doorstep. You can see the hotel as soon as you exit the subway, and there are plenty of great food and entertainment options nearby. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kunming. The front desk staff were very warm, attentive, and polite. The rooms were very clean, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a good night's rest after a day of exploring. 👍

My stay at Orange Crystal Hotel Kunming Wuyi Road (Nanping Pedestrian Street Old Town Branch) was very satisfying, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kunming. The location right by the Wuyi Road subway station makes getting around and transferring incredibly convenient. You can easily walk to Kunming Old Street and Nanping Street, and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, making it effortless to explore and dine. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were polite and attentive. The room was clean and tidy, well-maintained, with soft bedding and a stable hot water supply in the bathroom. The overall soundproofing was good, so I got excellent rest after a long day of exploring.

This is by far the hotel with the most meticulous service I've ever stayed at. First of all, the hotel's location is excellent; the Wuyi Road subway station is right outside. There's also a mall and restaurants nearby, and it's not far from Kunming Old Street. The room has a Xiaodu smart assistant, which is very convenient. The bed's comfort level suited me well, though the bathroom and shower area were a bit small. The hygiene conditions were good. The service was indeed meticulous and hit all the right notes. We received welcome fruits upon check-in, and requests were responded to promptly. The young man at the front desk upgraded our room type during check-in. Our room, located towards the back, was also very quiet. I left my power bank at the front desk, and when I went to retrieve it, the young lady at the front desk already had it ready for me – that was truly wonderful, haha! Also, I bought flowers from Dounan Flower Market and asked the front desk for a vase; they happily provided one, and I placed the flowers nicely on my bedside table. This really provided immense emotional value. As for breakfast, there were local specialties like rice noodles, sweet soup dumplings with bean paste, and regular noodles. Other Chinese items like small fried dough sticks weren't as good as those in the North. There was also fried rice, stir-fried dishes, rice porridge with pickles, bread, coffee, fruits, and desserts – quite a rich spread.
